Thanks for the praise. Formats such as WordPress have made it possible to share ideas on a highly readable level - with blogs. We're always trying to improve the blog in any way possible.

On a side-note: Oftentimes after Goh's fabulous sidekick which always knocks down, anti-tech-rolling is popular:

3K > KNOCKDOWN > DASH > 2K+G [Most people tech-roll to the front after this one]

Awesome vid Leonard. Love that OM P back stagger, back low throw combo, that is amazingly cool! Thanks so much!

Oh wow, the videos are really cool. I think I actually voted no on the blog for videos, because I felt they might be too much work for you guys to create:)

But the result is awesome, I think it really helps with learning - seeing it in action so different from just reading it! Thanks for doing this!

Really good. If I may say - too much time spend on titles and credits, but excellent production and graphics, very clear and very helpful. Thank you.

Nice presentation, kudos for your work.

But I found a few errors in the vid:

    -------
At :46, the scrolling text says to always evade non-circular mid-rising attacks by going to the back of the screen.

Actually, you want to evade to the character's back in rising side-kick situations. Rising side-kicks are half-circular towards the person's front.
    -------
At 1:04 the text states that all of Akira's rising attacks are non-circular.

His rising attacks are mostly half-circular with the exception if he rolls to the side with his face up towards you. He will perform a sweep if he attacks low in this occasion.
    -------
At 1:20 you do a throw and show the command as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif but you actually input his 270/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif throw. Both grabs will leave the opponent on the ground head towards face up though.

Nice work, you've put in a tremendous effort!! I liked the Back-Turned Mixup synopsis part the most /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

You can't format the info as well as he does on his blog on VFDC. The way Leonard did it is awesome. It wouldn't be as good on the wiki at all. He did a REALLY good job on his Goh Notes blog.

Oh, yes, especially the throw command error is a grave mistake. I may have to fix the errors you suggested. TY for the input and correction work.

It's still in the making, only partly finished. Only wanted to create a follow-up link in the article in order not to forget it myself.

Leonard, I'm EAGERLY awaiting this article to say the least. I'm pretty much chomping at the bit for this "sudden death" combo article. I'm starting to get the timing down a little. Seems to me you have to start your evade the instant your opponent hits the ground. That way you'll start your OM at the same time as they start their tech-roll... The timing on these two maneuvers seems to match up in such a way that you get the back stagger fairly consistently.

Any pointers would be more than appreciated...

One hint is that you don't OM right away. You rather delay it. As well, you also have to delay the P of the OM. Then it works pretty well and pretty reliably.

The window while they're ducking AND back-turned is relatively small. Looks like it's around 10-20 frames only. Obviously that's the roughest of guesses though... When do you begin just the evade part before you press P+K+G for your OM? The same instant they hit the ground is close to the right timing but is that too early? How far do you let them float down before you throw the kick too (this may or may not matter so much as it may just change the moment at which you execute the OM)?

I updated/corrected the vid (thanks to Shag), and renewed the links to it.

After a pause of almost 2 months where I had no Internet, I'm finally back. It was also this Internet-free time that made me rethink about Goh Notes, its principles and structure, and the design choices I had to make back then. I tried to figured the things out that worked and the others that didn't.

Thus, I am here again with a fresh new concept, and to announce that I have relaunched Goh Notes, my weblog dedicated to Goh Hinogami:

    1. Guides: I decided to write guides on topics that are either not well explained enough in the world of VF, or that simply needs more careful attention.
    2. Better Structure: Articles will not only be much more structured now but you will also gain the choice to decide whether you only want to stick to the main text with all the essential information or also to the sub-text that provides you with more in-detail data.
    3. Better Readability: Pictures, tables, and figures will now support an article wherever necessary.
    4. Newspaper-Style: This is a design decision. I decided to go for a more newspaper-oriented text style. This means that the articles will feature more examples, figures, funnier writings, and thoughts about subjects that do matter all neatly bundled up in structured articles.

Enjoy the new, and better Goh Notes. Feel free to leave feedback and requests!

    Leonard,

I just started playing Goh, and as such, have just started to scan through this part of the forums. Big props for the guides and blog that you have put together - I wish that there had been something like this available when I started learning Brad.

This is an awesome resource. Thanks a lot!
