Is it cheaper to buy a preloaded physical cards? Can I just purchase it from PSN by credit card without adding points?

      Thanks.

I decided to peek over at shoryuken.com to read the comments, and I can't help but notice that a lot the people think you HAVE to spend 400 points for each character/spend over 100 dollars to get everything. And hatin on the game for that.

I'm guessing they didn't read into it far enough, or comprehended that there are two packs for 1200 points each. Or, 45 dollars for everything. Not $100+

I'm sure they'll realize it eventually though..

F**K YES!!! I feel like I'm gonna cry here! Just over 3 weeks from now! After nearly 4 years of waiting! SO FREAKIN' HAPPY!

Okay, calm down. Breath... Wow, $15.00, Sega? YES! Perfect! I was hoping that it wasn't gonna be $20. So many more people will get it for $15, and they they'll go all Team Fortress 2 on everything and buy some items. And, damn, what a steal, EVERYTHING, all of the items for $45.00?? Dream come true! I'm gonna be giving Sega $90 over those 2 days, that's for sure!

Sega. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! For listening to us and giving us the game, and for doing such an awesome job with the port! Now I'm gonna try to share that new trailer with everyone that I can! ...After I stop having a mental breakdown! Let the countdown begin! Seriously, put a countdown timer on the site! [IMG] CAN'T WAIT!

I gotta admit... I anticipated having to pay at least 50 bucks for the entire package. But I'm happy that I am completely wrong about it.

So I wasn't the ony person to be confused by the pricing? I hope people don't buy each pack individually if they wish to buy all of the items.

I should not have said "add points". You don't add points. You add money to your online wallet then you spend the money in your online wallet. For example, my account/online wallet had $0.25 in it. Two weeks ago, I bought a $20.00 card and added it to my online wallet so that it had $20.25 in it. This weekend I bought the movie Pulp Fiction from the PSN store for $5.00 (you should catch it while it is on sale). Before I completed the transaction all of the math appeared on the screen and told me how much money I would have after the transaction. After I bought it I had $15.25 left.

If you go to the PSN store to buy the game with no money in your wallet, you will be prompted to add funds to your online wallet at the point of sale. You can then use your credit card to add the right amount of money.

You can use a credit card to add money directly to your account without buying the pre-paid card at any time, even when you are not at the point of sale. You can store your credit card info in your account so that you don't have to enter it all over again every time.

I just don't want Sony to know my information so I use the pre-loaded cards. Sony doesn't know my real name or address.

What great news! $15 is awesome and per character dlc is smart, especially for me since I only play Vanessa seriously. So $20 on a game I would have easily spent $60 for is.....*speechless*.....

The only problem with that is that you probably won't see anyone else's customizations unless they play Vanessa too...

Just to throw some more positivity into the thread, it's cool to see other people willing to buy simply cause it's only 15 bucks. I thought for sure ita been $20, and $20 for each pack. Well played Sega. And thank you.

Funny comment I seen on another website was, "$15? I guess it's time to learn Virtua Fighter."

If the entire game is truly only $45, I apologize for all my previous rants. (though I wonder if those discussions were what caused Sega to consider such a low price in the first place)

Anyway, now there is one more issue at hand though: Can you see items on other players even if you haven't bought that particular DLC? (where has this been confirmed?)

Honestly, Sega has dug themselves into a "Damned if they do, damned if they don't" hole here.

If all customization items are included in the initial download (aka PURCHASE) of the game, then it is evil of Sega to charge additional money to unlock said content that you technically already paid for once.

If customization items are NOT included in the initial download of the game, then it is stupid of Sega to lessen the value of DLC items by making them visible only to players who also have happened to purchase the same DLC pack. (Perhaps if there was a way to temporarily download the items before a fight...)

Also, keep in mind that not being able to see items you haven't purchased yet doesn't mean that they truly are not included in the initial download of the game. This could also be a last-minute trick by Sega to hide the fact that you technically already paid for these items. We won't know for sure until hackers dig around the game's files and/or we can see the file size of the DLC items.

Anyway, you all have to realize that what's going on here is that Sega is basically taxing the casual players so that the hardcore players can have a discount. For the hardcore scene, $15 for each copy of the game is amazing, (items won't matter for the tournament scene unless there's a way to easily transport your char like the ol' VF4 days) but such a low price is possible only because of the extra money Sega hopes to make off of the DLC items. So if this practice still makes you happy, then cool. But don't pretend you and Sega are completely innocent here. This is kind of messed up if you think about it. Treating a subset of the customers like cattle to be milked just because they don't know about frame data is somewhat dickish. But whatever, in the end $45 for the entire VF5FS experience is still a better deal then any other fighter outthere, so that's what matters I suppose.

Either way, yeah I'm getting the entire game. See you all on PSN June 5th. [IMG]

I actually hate SEGA because this job was supposed to be done 4 years ago. But the only thing I can do on June 5th is to log on PSN/XBL and click the purchase option. [IMG]

$15 is a steal, and it's not necessary to pay $45 if you dislike VF.
