finally VF4 ps2 pics!!!

    Why can't Sega graphix programmers render joints properly - even with power of Naomi 2? Kage's left shoulder looks unacceptable - they shouldn't be this lazy. Namco seems to have the elbow/knee/shoulder enveloping down cold, but Sega had issues with it in VF3 arcade as well (the game's only flaw graphically speaking). CIN, i'd like you to share your thoughts on this......[/nitpick]

    Sega has always had trouble with joints, especially the arm and shoulder joints. You can take screenshots of every VF game with characters in certain poses and some will really look fucked, like that one. I guess it's just a difficult section of the body to translate into 3D graphics...

    I can understand joints getting seperated during fights when the action is generally too quick to notice the flaw, but having that happen during a win pose is just unnacceptable. I agree with Adam on this one-- sloppy/rushed programming.

    IMO VF3 was done much better. The graphics look smoother. Why does VF4 look like it has "stripes" (i.e. horizontal lines running across the screen) from top to bottom?!?!?! The graphics look "cut up" - like there're on some kind of lousy digital screen or something like that. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

    And the anti-aliasing really sux too. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

    It has nothing to do with power. IIRC Tekken 3 on PS had none of the VF joint weirdness going on. It seems that AM2 made this a VF trademark. :p

    There are some techniques that should get rid of the disjointed limbs etc... It is up to to the dev to implement them.

    Namco does a much better job on this front but AM2 are still untouchable. Also the aliasing issues are probably because the Arcade units are running in VGA mode. If the game is running in interlaced mode the jaggies should be reduced to DC levels(because of the automatic filtering the image gets when downsampled from 640x480 to 640x240). I guess the aliasing will be reduced on PS2.

    I don't get you...? I mean the arcade ones... vf4 isn't out for PS2 yet right? On the arcade machines the graphics look as if they're cut into pieces... with horizontal lines running all across... =(

    I'll repeat - your arcade VF4 sounds like it's set to low resolution. Naomi1/2 can output in VGA high resolution or CGA low resolution. If your machine doesn't have a VGA/multiresolution monitor, you don't get to see it in high resolution.
