Favourite bands?

"Tales from the thousand lakes" and "Elegy" were both pretty risky albums, but they're both incredible. "Tales" ...is a bit more heavy on the atmosphere, more of a brooding, moody kind of menace to it, but "Elegy" certainly has it's moments too.
"The karelian isthmus" is also excellent, although more a straightforward assault than the other two albums.
I lost track of the band after that "Elegy" though.
Two other bands I forgot were Emperor and Enslaved.
Both killer.

Yeah, Tales from the Thousand Lakes is one of the best albums period in its genre. I was *seriously* disappointed by the new vocalist that they recruited for Elegy. He should never have been added to Amorphis' lineup. Everything past Elegy sucks in my opinion (hell I think that alot of Elegy kinda sucks as well, curse that vocalist!!) so I wouldn't recommend picking up any of their newer albums...
