    U'll be suprised...

It seems the experts at TTT down here all give VF the props of being the 'harder' game...

Plus...they really do not understand the VF rules....

anyway..the common point that was brought up over n over again while chatting with them over coffee is ' MAN KAGE IS CHEAP'!

    No surprise there /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Okay, here's my take on my Top 10 Videogames list; I wouldn't consider it final, since there's always some shifting around (would I rather play Robotron or Tony Hawk?), but what the hey.

    1) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Miyamoto's absolute crowning masterpiece, a wonderfully immersive experience, and full of imagination. Absolutely my favorite videogame from start to finish.

    2) Super Mario 64
Gaming's equivalent of Sgt. Peppers, a landmark creative effort that rewrote the book and set the standard for everything to follow. Essentially a textbook example for what makes a great videogame.

    3) Tetris
It's hard to imagine puzzle games before Tetris. This is the best example of oldskool gameplay and intelligent design; behold the thinking man's videogame.

    4) Ms. Pac-Man
I've put more quarters into Ms. Pac-Man than any other video arcade. Hell, I've put more money into that game than I have into college! To me, it's greatness (like Tetris) lies in its universal appeal.

    5) Virtua Fighter (series)
Why do I love VF so much? Beyond all its strengths, it all comes down to this: button mashers will never beat me. Nuff said.

    6) Super Mario (series)
The greatness of the Super Mario series (SMB 1-3, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island) lies in sense of wonder and surprise, sprawling worlds just waiting to be explored; the drug references are cool, too (touch fuzzy, get dizzy). Super Mario World is the best platformer ever made.

    7) Super Bomberman 2
The best multiplayer game ever made. Easy to grasp, fast paced, and thoroughly addicting. SB2 (SNES) is my favorite, although Saturn Bomberman could be considered an equal, with up to 10 player games.

    8) Tony Hawk Pro Skater (series)
Another masterpiece that practically invents a new genre, while making it all look so easy. Tony Hawk has that perfect sense of experimentation and improvisation that made Mario so great, with influences from sports and fighting games.

    9) Quake (series)
Good gravy, nothing beats an intense online multiplayer battle of Quake 3 against your friends, roommates, and a dozen or so people around the world. In that field, the Quake series has no equal.

    10) NiGHTS
Behold, the greatest Art-House videogame ever made. It defies categorization, literally the only game of its kind. It's a flying/driving/Mario-esque/virtual pet...something. A game? An acid trip? Whatever you call it, NiGHTS is sublime and unforgettable; the Christmas NiGHTS demo is equally essential for anyone who enjoys videogames.

I'm becoming verklempt. Discuss among yourselves.

Hmm..think I will update my list, or at least add a few
Lemmings: Good lord...is this game a controlled substance...i swear I almost failed middle school because of this game on my Amiga 500.
Rocket Ranger (Amiga): HOLY SHIT....first game for me that had digitized speech, an amazing plot, and just hours of fun..punch below the belt! Not to mention, I got to bag the scientist daughter while rescuing them from the zepplin!
Blood Money (Amiga): Hands down, the hardest shoot - period. I came close to suicide from this game just breaking me, only to come back again, and again, and again...Aminos also on Amiga gets special mention.
Land of the Rising Sun: Another Amiga classic. Definatly worth checking out if you can download it....got to play the Edo wars which in many ways, shaped current Japanese society. From political intrigue to awesome battles (I LOVE defend the castle segments), this game had it all.
Battle of Britain (Amiga): This game got me sucked into world war II history. One of the best composed manuels of any game. Awesome flight engines for its time (good god, almost every plan of the encounter is playable except for the British Bombers!). Hours and hours of fun, and on line 2!
Fighter Duel (amiga) First game to go at 60fps. Beautiful flight engine, on line play...simply georgous. Its add on pack only helped.
(We see a Amiga theme here..hehe)
Doom (pc): What can you NOT say about this..scared the dog shit out of me. Totally engrossing...chich-chich, boom...
Fairy Tale Adventure (Amiga): Awesome action/rpg. Dragon was a huge dissapointment, but the game kicked ass!...hehehe...anybody else know the turtle trick? :p
Duke Nukem 3d (PC) The game that truly got me into FPS. Hail to the once and forever king.
Sonic series (genesis): Sonic does and always will kick ass. The sega-cd game was perhaps the shining moment of Sonic (sorry, the dreamcast version simply did not suck me in)
Lunar 1 & 2 (genesis and sega-cd). Awesome series...one of the first on a console that kept me going for over 24 hours!
Warsong (Genesis): hehe..y'al don't know about this game...its still crack! Go Download it on a emulator.
general Chaos (Genesis) One of the first 4 player at once games, and still one of the best! This game is still fun!
Hmmm....I will do some more later.
