It mentions in the rules (General Console rule section) that you forfeit the round if you press pause during the match.

As a resident local to pomona, I advise everyone whos planning to purchase an airplane ticket to make the destination to Ontario Airport. It is much closer than LAX and sufficiently less traffic.

      chibita confirmed

Mr Yamagishi's (editor in chief of Arcadia) company, Aquarogue (which owns and runs Beat Tribe), will be paying Chibita's travel expenses for EVO 2003. I'll post more as I know... but the good news is... incoming chibita!

A thought just occured to me last night. In coming up with the settings to be used for the tournament, I specified Versus Mode was to be used with random stage selection. However, in this mode you could end up playing on the PS2 water/pond stage, which I don't think anybody would like? I certainly wouldn't. So I'm thinking of having the rules changed so that it uses Arcade Mode instead.

      Thoughts?

this makes no sense to me (I know I'm not going but hear me out). Use Stage Selection and the problem is completely solved. If you think people will choose stages that give their character an advantage then set a rule that only certain neutral stages can be chosen.

I think that having radom is the best way to go but most everyone hates fighting on the water stage and having to restart the playstation every time the verbotten stage comes on just seems....dumb. Worrying about it seems dumb when you have a viable alternative in front of you.

Heyyy. I think everyone would like the PS2 water stage thingy more if it were referred to as the PHONE BOOTH. I mean, it's a nasty place to be but sometimes it's fun to venture from the confines of le ol' bedroom, y'know? Anywhere, Anytime.

This is gonna be so much freakin' fun!

well, you don't need to restart the whole game.. you just need to pause it and go to character select... the whole process would take no more than 20 seconds.. It's not that much of a hassle...

      Thanks for the feedback.

GodEater, which stages would you define as being neutral? Actually, I think they're all fair, but it'd kinda peeve me off if people repeatedly chose high walled stages in fear of RO.

I think we'll stick to Versus Mode with random stage select, and should the Palace stage appear, we just go back to the chara select screen as Srider mentioned.

      hey myke,

Neutral was a really bad choice of word by myself. I really just meant 3 or 4 stages that everyone could agree on as being okay to play on (with the vairety of breakable walls, low walls, no walls). Really though, if you just put stage selection on and then said, "no phonebooth stage" it would probably be okay.

still, people will argue about stages. i'd say just pick some good neutral stages, and set them up in a random stage choice. that way, everyone's happy.
