European online tournament

How would you get a draw!?

Just counting wins and losses should be enough, then any ties can just be resolved by letting the players that are tied battle it out! Or just let the one that won the fight during the league be the one ranked higher... or whatever.

Just want to add that winning this doesn't really hold much meaning, online is nothing compared to offline play. But it should be a good way to get everyone active, and maybe more importantly: this is a nice chance to fight a lot of different styles in a short period of time. The ultimate test to see how fast you can improvise!

Looking forward to this! Started playing again today (already kind of started earlier this week, though ); I'm so rusty! Gotta play more so I get back to my old level!

 

Sudden death and then double KO in the tie breaking match = a draw.

The game declares player 1 the winner by default though.

 

Player 1 > Player 2.

I think i would participate too if i`m free then. I can`t say how much my final exams will stress me by that time.
Overall i would also like to get an offline-event started next year, i couldn´t go to netherlands in 2009

As Krye said it`s a nice thing to keep VF alive...but online tournaments shouldn`t be taken that serious...it would be a funny tourney though. To play different strong players in a row is good training.

League-System sounds fine; best of three would be ok. My Gamertag is: Ad4m

 

I think we should simply total up the number of games won, so a 3-0 win would be 0 points to the loser, and 3-2 would be 2 points to the loser. That's gotta be the fairest way of doing it.

Would it be an idea to make this a monthly thing? Something like an online ranbat where we play every month (or every two weeks or two months, whatever works) and make a ranking based on what the final placings are.

We could then use this ranking to seed players during any offline event that might happen. That way, there is some kind of reward for doing well, but not so much that playing online would be an issue.

I feel like this could be a nice way to keep everyone playing and practicing.

PS: I'm available to help out with any organising things if necessary. If we're gonna make this a monthly thing, it'd be a lot of work for one person to handle.

Thanks for the offers guys. I was thinking that if it went well then a monthly thing would be perfect. Let's see how smoothly this one goes and then we can put heads together for the future.
Looks like we have 12 people confirmed now, which is great. If no one new joins in teh next few days I'll put together a rosta.
In fact, if it all goes well in the future I might be able to give away a game to the winner, let's see how it goes.

For the ranbat count me in. For the tournament i'm not sure. Because my connection goes up or down without any reason. So if my connection is good one day may not be ok the next one. That's why i'm not going to join a tournament. But a ranbat is a totally different thing and i can bring with me people from italy for that.
