/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is one of the best low punch killing moves in the game and it's hard to clash with a throw. Use this move when you think they will try to low punch and follow with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif ...

I'm about to post a ton more Blaze starts today from a PM thread I have going... The info is too good to keep private.

Guys: Stop giving the "look at the wiki" answer... It's worthless...

Dude, I posted a very detailed setup's for El Blaze. So, I don't see why your getting so "Emo" about. Yes, this forum is here to ask questions, but when a "question" has already been discuss, numerous times, it gets rather annoying when someone makes a new topic about a "Dead Horse" catch my drift? I'm being very nice to you as a member of the forum. I even broke down the "Numbers" for you when theres a thread about it already, so please, don't mistake my kindness for weakness, because I will F5 your ass! Capiche?

EL BLAZE TIPS FROM PM's BETWEEN (a person that wishes to remain anonymous for fear that their friends will find out they were seeking advice) AND GERNBURGS:

    Dude:
hey, sorry to disturb you again. I've other few questions to ask you regarding el blaze. What should i take note of if i'm playing with char like akira & lion. I found out that i love to do up P+K all e way and . what other moves do you recommend to do in order to make em confused or so ? i've started doing rolling technique and + to confuse em..the rest..in trouble..possible to gimme some advice ? in adv, thank you.

    Gernburgs:
Well, against Lion I would say try the Rocket Knee when you block one of his low attacks. If he tries to sweep you or that double low kick where the second kick knocks down or that other weird sweep kicky thing and you block, you should have enough advantage to juggle them with 2_6K... Make him pay for his sweeping and low poke style...

Akira is easy to evade because he is very linear so evading his attacks will work wonders. He has slow, powerful attacks so stay in his face and pressure and throw him when he starts blocking. If he is a low punch spammer try back-dashing from up close right into 46+K special high to kill his low punch and and give you a deep stagger to work with. Make sure you know which attacks leave him at an advantage and be careful when he has it. After his P+K>P+K move, if you block the second high attack he is at +4 frames so watch out for low punch and other quick attacks here. Most Akiras will use this attack liberally so either duck the second hit and punish or keep blocking after the second attack when you are -4 frames.

Obviously there is a lot more but you can ask me any specific questions and I'll try to help you...

    Dude:
thanks for the tips, but too bad the lion which i always see in the arcade don't use double low kick, he's a very good player which can break throw and dogde well. though he claims that he doesn't know how to see Blaze's move, well too bad my basic ain't that good den..

As for the akira whom i fought with, he uses 2 low punches straight and he will either do double palm or grab you. it's always hard for me to guess cause i don't really know what he wants to do after 2 to 3 time of low punches. though if i did silly mistakes or so, he will intend to throw me up and juggle me all e way.
seems to me that i have to train myself NOT to use Elbow Kick and DM P+K. cause i'm a jacky user as i always rely on my elbow kick and winded up getting all sorts o trouble. Again, thanks for the tips, i'll read your guide again and again. thanks =)

    Gernburgs:
8P+K absolutely kills low punch. Any time you think they will low punch do 8P+K> P>6P>K... If you hit him with this combo enough he will have to abandon low punch completely. 8P+K is also nice anti-nitaku because it's hard to clash with. Even if he goes to throw you 8P+K will probably hit him without clashing. El Blaze's 8P+K may be the best low punch killing move in the game, any low puncher is dead meat against Blaze.

YOMI the low punch with 8P+K!

Lion is tricky with his low pokes and what not, I too have trouble with him. I would use a little 8P+K against him too because it jumps lows. Also use 3P to keep him standing and dash in a throw off the stagger. 66+K is also one of my favorite moves with Blaze cause it's half circular and it has nice range.

Off a 66+K stagger do: 4P+K (to juggle)>P+K>P>6P>K for a nasty combo that does close to half their life... This combo will work off any stagger on ANY WEIGHT!!! You can even do that to Jeffry off a stagger! Also, hug him up close, don't let him back up to mid-range where he can use his pokes and sweeps. Blaze is best when used up close so stay right in his face and crowd him. This tactic throws a lot of players off because they are only comfortable fighting at a certain range (crowding Vanessa and Kage works wonders too.) So stay in close and jab, throw or go for a nice juggle (one of Blaze's strengths is his juggles, they can be brutal.) If you control the spacing of the fight you may be able to throw him off and mess up his strategy.

The forward roll (426+P) into the uppercut, kick combo (426P>P>K>6P>K) or 0-frame throw is a VERY powerful mix-up too...

    Dude:
hey gernbergs, thanks for the super hints !

I love to use + but sometimes it's just that i rely too much and in the end..i got floated by those akira players. in (some country in asia), there's TONS of akira player and lion player. El blaze, think i'm the 3rd one who started using blaze. although i know that 8p+k is very effective on low punches but sometimes they will just randomly do a few times, by the time you wanna jump up, they already do other things and you will be floating half way. but i'll continue my dojo with my el blaze cause i feel that el blaze is even cooler than jacky XD

from what i study from the lion i played with, he's basic is really very good but he's very scared of blaze. wanted to use that as an advantage but i feel that my el blaze is still slow due to the effect tat i used jacky. I was thinking the same thing too..get close to him all e way and don't give him slack though sometimes he played fast pace and winded up i'm the one thinking what's he gonna do next n so on.

i tried the combo that you thought me and it works flawlessly especially when playing live on xbox. yes, it does eat half of the life gone. for the rolling combo, you can add a p den you do 6P>K. + > >>. works on light to medium but not heavy weights. thanks for the advice, i shall go to the arcade and train more of EL BLAZE ! thanks !

    Gernburgs:
Well, Blaze has, IMHO, one of the best evade attacks in the game and on a counter-hit they can't duck a RD into De Ja Vu. So if he is trying to jab you out of your 8P+K you can use evade attack just as effectively against standing punch and if you counter hit then you get a free De Ja Vu.

Evade attack will throw him off and make him nervous to sit there and try to poke you. I always use DMPK against pokers. They usually freeze up after they eat the evade attack and I can usually get a throw too. If he is trying to jab you with Akira to throw off your game, just use evade attack and fish for a counter-hit into Rocket Discharge and use the De Ja Vu catch throw. He will be afraid that you will do it again and will probably just stop poking you a lot. When you are afraid of evade attack you are more likely to take an approach where you play more defensively to bait a missed evade attack and throw less pokes so you're not vulnerable to evades. That should slow his poking Akira way down and let you throw him around and give him a general thrashing.

The 46P and follow ups are pretty good up close and a great answer to standing jab because 46P ducks real quick and avoids highs when you throw it out so you will beat out their jab. The sweep follow up is RARELY blocked and is usually a free knockdown. The 46P,K,K is a nice way to bait them into a stagger move too. My secret with that move is to also break it after 46P,K> then stop the chain and do 9P+G catch throw because they will be standing trying to block the last hit of the string which is mid. The animation on the catch throw is crazy enough that they will think another attack is coming and eat the throw. Plus that last kick is a jump kick so the catch throw starts in a similar animation because it is a jumping move too.

    Dude:
yeah, had to admit, blaze's DM kick is quite useful in mo, though i tried a few times when i did a mc DMpk on the akira user, and he ate de ja vu for free..quite nice actually..hehe.

Hmmm..for the akira i know, whenever he see me do a dmpk and it's not a mc, he will stand there and do a P on me. and in the end everything canceled ~ And one thing is he's scared of blaze's roll due to i can either swap it with either a throw or a dragon punch. A question, when doing +. i feel that the move also quite useful for blaze but when i did that move with the kick and i press forward, he will RD, is there any way you can do to make him do other stuffs instead of RD ?

oh yeah, that move that you told me, it works greatly !! they ate it twice and the 2nd time i saw em crouch down and i immediately execute the low throw combo on em. it's super awesome ~ that's the reason why i like el blaze sooo much =D thanks for e tips gernburgs ! last week at least i improved a bit as i trick some of the people in the arcade and even won a match i thought i'm gonna lose.

    Gernburgs:
Yeah, that catch-throw setup is awesome and I can actually say I made that up myself... That set-up is from my own imagination, not vids...

In regards to the 9P+K flip move... If you don't press K during that flip you will land BT and can do a full-circular sweep or that mule kick to surprise them. It's a crazy looking move and if they know you sometimes throw the kick (9P+K,K) which is half circular so it's tough to evade, they probably won't attack when they see this coming and will let you land in BT. Blaze has some good BT options and you can cancel BT with guard into 0-frame throw any time (that works with every character BTW)

ALSO: After Blazes HCB-P+G throw (63214+P) if you enter 9P+K Blaze will do a side flip every time. This is a great way to bait a whiffed rising kick and go for a 66K stagger combo or whatever else you like. After that particular throw 9P+K WILL SIDE FLIP EVERY TIME...

Don't forget the stagger combo: Stagger with one of Blaze's many stagger moves into (i.e. :66K)>4P+K>P+K>P>6P>K for a huge combo that will leave them with their mouth agape! Especially since this works on heavies too (off a stagger only), most Jeffrys and Wolfs WILL NOT be expecting to eat a combo this big as they don't commonly work on the heavies...
