Eileen Beginner's Guide: The Basics

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif really depends on which char you're talking about if it's FC I just block then punish it afterward. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif I evade it if my opponent is abusing it then punish. If they're not abusing it then I genearly just get hit by it. I'd say use more evades if /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is giving you real problems because it's very vunerable to that. I don't remember but I think /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif goes over /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and will launch.

    i'm talking about akira,

    what's the best thing to do after evading /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif? get back to usual strings or there's a good setup or punishment?

    the problem about evading is sometimes he waits for me to evade and do the akira high palm launcher which can lead to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, into his byako juggle o_oa

    i'll try that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, thx

    I'm trying to put myself into your shoes though I'm giving hypothetical advice. Akira is very linear he only have two attacks I can think of that are HC so you will be pretty safe if you dodge him twice if you know he's going to do that. However you should be able to knock him out of it before he does it if after you evade you use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif strings. You could aslo just evade then block he's at a disadvantage after his launcher. That's the safer option, I'm a risky player so I'd use the strings. You could also be basic and use her evade attack hitting /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif after a sucessfull evade, don't do that if you think he's going to block though because then you'll be at a slight disadvantage.

    If your opponent is spamming multiple /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gifs in a row, simply block the first one, then elbow him to stand him up in a stagger (tack on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for some guaranteed dmg). If you block one and he tries another one right after, your elbow class will beat him out every time. Alternately, you can perform your DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif which owns /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif abusers.

    what's DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif? and I didn't know about the elbow beating out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif I don't know if I'm remembering correctly but I recall being hit out've it. Maybe I was at dissadvantage from the first low p hitting me so the elbow didn't have time to connect. It only works if you block the first one right?

    Well, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is -5, so you can technically beat a second with a 17i mid as well. You just need to buffer it perfectly. So if you can use a slower move like that, a 14i mid shouldn't be too hard.

    Yeah, it only works if you block the first one.

    DM P+K is your evade move -- during an evade, hit P+K and Eileen will do a kind of sideways scissor kick. It eats 2Ps and discourages abusers.

    Just to throw in my 2 cents: You all were having some debate on what to follow up with on a stagger. I played against Yosuke and Itazan (spelled right?) for a few hours last friday, and asked for some tips and combos. I went 2-3 against Itazan before his Shun got too many drinks after I learned a few things.

    One of those is a good follow-up to the stagger. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif->/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif->/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is fast and does good guaranteed damage. Not even Yosuke could escape stagger fast enough to block it. I'm sure that with practice, I could fit something else into the combo, but the 9K+G launcher is a way to go.

    oh nice now a stagger due to which move? And yes there is a huge combo you can do after that 9K+G I forget it at the moment but there is a better followup. I'm pretty sure it's on Strider's Superguide.

    I could do it off the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. But yeah.. that combo alone, coupled with the aggravating (to Itazan, who seems to play in a very linear fashion, while Yosuke beat me due to his use of DMs and incredible mix-ups) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif won me many a match.

    Conditioning Opponent During Oki:
    After knock down, use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif with precision to make opponents fear getting up with a rising /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Once they are conditioned to get up without an attack (or they just QR harmlessly), enter the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif games detailed below. To get the most out of this tactic, you have to know which direction your opponent usually evades.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is half circular (opponent has to evade to *Eileen's back*) -- so you must look at your stance as you knock your opponent down. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif will switch your stance, allowing you to exploit their evade-direction habits. For instance, let's say I knock my opponent down and my back is to the screen; however, I know that my opponent normally evades down (which will evade to my back, i.e. will evade the half-circ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif). Enter /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to switch your stance, then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -- the opponent's only way out is an abare /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif string or if they watch stance on their own knock down and evade correctly (not likely in western VF).

    If they:
    - evade in their habitual direction, it will knock down creating another oki situation
    - rise and guard, it will stagger them on contact, allowing for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif punishment or a dash-in throw

    Remember you must condition them to fear getting up with an offensive mind set (rising kick, abare attack, etc) by discouraging them with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif games. Also, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif takes a loooong time to come out, so timing your execution is key -- you can begin it slightly early so that as they rise you force the crisis choice situation. Finally, practice looking at stance when you knock your opponent down and change it as necessary with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (I know I need work on this).

    This is just another solid oki option to be added to stuff like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, throw, etc. Hope this was helpful -- it can be very powerful when used correctly!

    Hello... thanks for posting this thread.

    I am mainly a Soul Calibur player. Eileen seem to be the best fit for me since I play Taki. Both Eileen and Taki seem to be a lot in common from what I can tell when it comes down to overall pressure and evasiveness.

    Looking forward to playing you peeps via xbox live. That is once I get a gamertag.

    Does anybody here use this move? What is it's purpose?

    Experiment with it in the following scenarios:

    To get onto the other side of a downed opponent
    To go over lows at the beginning of the jump
    To go under highs/mids at the end of it (where she rolls)

    She recovers surprisingly quickly from it. I did it from a little distance from my opponent, they thought it may be some kind of attack, I just went straight into her 63214p+g throw. It catches them by surprise. Try it on people that like to wait.
