pai's [2_][4]+[K] also goes under mids, found that out the hard way.. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just realised it's possible that Shun's [2_],[4]+[K] could duck under some mids. Someone could test if they like.

shun di's sweep can go low... goh's shrm I had not noticed beating elbows but it definitely goes through low punch and high punch in -2 situations.

akira's df+P+K goes through elbows in open stance. àiee!

kage's dragon punch ducks elbows and some other mids.

I think I've heard gripes that lion's FC upper will win in - situations vs elbows but never confirmed it.

I guess someone should mention for the benefit of newbies that this applies to some mids; the ones that don't scrape the floor. Some mids like wolf's short shoulder or typical sidekicks will interrupt these ultralow attacks. They aren't for free.

Myke, You forgot Lau's fully charged [P]+[K]. Altough, i'm not pretty sure...

PS: I'm finnaly able to get every akira's move without a problem, and I can do it from both sides:1p and 2p(I even plugged my controller into Player 2's output so that everytime I play, I play as 2p; it's much better training that way, still, crouch dashing forward while on 2P position [1][1] really is HARD).

BTW, Myke, Creed, do me a favor, could you explain that technic of "evading crouch-dashing forward"? I heard it was pretty useful to dodge some moves. Is this "too" off-topic?

    Stay cool.

A successful evade will give you an advantage, while a failed evade will give you a large disadvantage. Not all is lost if you fail an evade because after a certain amount of frames you will be able to crouch-dash and cancel the failed evade. It's not super useful but if your opponent isn't quick then you can cancel the evade and potentially duck under any high attacks and throw attempts. In one of Creed's tutorial vids (The one with Kage vs. Sarah) Kage crouch dash cancels a failed evade, and retains the advantage.

Yeah, Lau's [P]+[K] goes under some mids.

ECD can be used as a form of defensive/offensive OS when you are at -3 or -4. When you are at -1 or -2, a simple crouch dash into standing block is sufficient.

The way to use it is to buffer in a very quick ECD when you are in hit/block stun, followed by an attack. What happens is that when you are at say -4, your opponent can choose to throw or strike.

If your opponent chooses to strike(without delay), you will get the dodge because you have already buffered in the ECD during your hit/block stun. If your opponent chooses to throw, your attack(from the crouch dash) will hit him. Note that you need to do the ECD REAL FAST(with the attack at the end) or it will not work.

Of course, if your opponent delays his attack, this technique will not work.

    EDIT:

This technique is particularly useful if your character has a strong move that needs to be executed from crouch. eg. Lau's upkn, Akira's shoulder. Its otherwise not worth the gamble for characters without such moves, IMO.
