Do you still believe in VF5R for consoles?

I can't believe my first Facebook post, was about VF5R, referenced drugs (and 5ugaR), and Sega Nerds in the same comment!

 

I'm no fan of social networking sites like myspace facebooks etc.

However I signed up to make sure there was at least 1 more person requesting it from them.

SEGA's response hopefully means we may hear something soon, though I am not going to hold my breathe.

 

Here's the answer to my latest SEGA Pass ticket (asking about VF5R of course and the lack of an announcement at E3):

This is what SEGA posted 20 minutes ago on Facebook:

Hey Everyone, we asked our teams about VF5, but there simply isn't any public information about the VF series. I know this isn't an answer you want, however it's all I could get out of our internal teams. I work in the community team for Sega, and even though I can't get you the answers you want, I can still send your feedback on to other people within our company. Facebook limits text, more inside.

I want to thank the fans of the series for posting their support, it's a testament to the power of social media that we can have this type of relationship and have a dialogue (though more info would make it a more interesting dialogue).

For us, we love the fan support for Virtua Fighter and will be looking at ways of supporting you across our community spaces. I hope everyone has a great weekend, thank you so much for your support!

Also a note on the flow of information. How and when games are announced, promoted, and talked about is a very precise process. Often, when no news is available about a game, it's often because nothing publicly has been announced or can be talked about.

When we see requests for information about different games, we often don't respond because ......you'd get tired of seeing 'No Comment' attached to every reply. That said, we do read everyone's posts, comments, and appreciate them all (aside from the folk you who like to count, you know who you are).

My name is Clumsyorchid in the community space, and other Sega community members also post to this account as well - so keep that in mind. We always appreciate feedback and I hope everyone had a great E3. I know I did .

Sega just gave us a message. I think it's time to step up the offensive.

 

I suggest everyone to thank them for the response, that way they understand we aren't just some angry spammers, we have a cause and all we want are some answers (and a port!). But of course, continue sending them our feedback, but NO SPAMMING OR TROLLING PLEASE.

I noticed some people have been doing it and that just hurts our community.

This is great guys. Let's keep it going.

 

Don't endlessly spam Sega but there is certainly no reason to let up with requesting 5R. Especially until we get a firm timetable for a release. Not only that but we might as well request that the game can be updated for future releases. I don't think the community would be happy to get VF5R version B only to have version C come out two months later only to have VF5FT make both of those completely obsolete.

Aside from 4FT, 5R is the best fighting game, without question, of all time. This game needs to come out on consoles. Especially considering that this is the 'year of the fighter' with the one exception of the VF series.

 

Not this year.

Too many fighters already coming out this year.
