If your bored of the game then quit the game and get the fuck out of here, otherwise stop whining about it, that's what I think is ridiculous.

I have stopped playing the game. However I keep coming to this site because, despite some people's best effort, it's a great community. Once there's a new VF, I'll go back to hosting meets and trying to grow the community.

Tony owned this thread. I'm your fan. I was thinking about the same thing regarding ST and 3S fandom lifespan vs VF's. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
Tbh the reason I want VF5R is just because I can't play VF against real competition where I live. R is my only hope since it would most likely come with Online on the PS3 this time around. But if I had VF5 Online I wouldn't be complaining much if at all.

Like you, until R comes out, I'll be on Tekken 6. I'm actually playing Tekken 5 again lately (dropped it last year) and the hype is building up. However, VF5 is still a special game that can very well last on its own for as long as the aforementioned SF games did.

Another reason that VF5R isn't announced is that AM2 is notoriously xenophobic especially with the VF franchise.

Why keep playing such an oudated game when a sequel, a far superior, and amazing sequel, is out but unavailable?

Well, I was talking stuff in shoutbox, but it is obvious I wouldn't quit VF... it's just too good.
I hope Konjou has some more patience too.

For me however it's about the comunity. If it wasn't for this site, I'd probably quit VF a long time ago. I used to play with a lot of ppl. Most of them lost interest in the game after Evo. Two of them stayed. One went to Japan, the other one eventually got bored of playing with only me, and quit VF like the rest of 'em.

I have PS3 only, so no online. I don't have a fast connection so it's not like online would be great for me... or maybe it would, I dunno (SF4 somehow worked great in Europe).
I somehow survive by spending time in Dojo and Quest... and that's why I wanted 5R, to have something new, something fresh, so playing VF doesn't feel so empty and pointless anymore.

I'm trying to get better with my chars, but how do I know if I'm making any progress? I don't have ANY means of testing it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

So I think I deserve to bitch about stuff from time to time. I know masterpo has a similar situation to mine....

I don't see what trying to reduce losses and improve profits has to do with race...

    Maybe i'm missing something.

Xenophobia is a fear or aversion to strangers, foreigners, or people different from oneself.

So it doesn't necessarily mean race, but it could.

Lol yeah, but I don't think this has anything to do with culture clash or racism in the least. Outside of them realizing VF isn't received well in the west.

It's not just about quiting VF. I believe most players here are considering how to improve actually. However, to be honest, I don't think playing VF5 right now can help you improve in R, because too many stuff has been changed. I don't dare to judge all the characters but mostly I notice some characters I like are completely different in R. Not only their moves but also the sequence which is never provided in VF5.

It's frustring but I have to admit VF5 is dead now especially after Socal this year. I know some people are still looking for WCG and I think that's the only reason they keep playing so far. I'm not here to provoke everyone should give up VF5, but I think you probably have the same thought if you are really into this game. Sometime you need motive for something, but too bad I can't find it right now....

This thread is really upset. Let's hope some miracle happen soon!!

Yah, I know what the word means and it was very clear that instantoverhead was talking about Segas apparent reluctance to release their games outside of Japan.

Correct, I didn't mean to imply that Sega is racist, but rather that they tend to be very exclusive with the VF series in Japan. But even that exteneds beyond just keeping it local to Japan but they like to control the everything about the game.

Remember Sega shut down both EVO and Beat-Tribe selling DVDs of VF4 footage. Anything that Sega can't control they go after. Remember Sega stopped people from outside of Japan viewing the live streams of events like KS or OH? Again they only let people in Japan participate. And even if you are in Japan and run an arcade you can't own a VF5R machine you have to lease it. Total control.

But critically is it received well. VF4/EVO got amazing reviews and 5 did alright as well. VF has been at EVO three times and VF5 is the official WCG fighting game. Yeah so a million people didn't buy the game but it's a fighting game (a niche genre) and a less popular fighting game at that. Punishing western players for that by witholding 5R is unfair.

Releasing VF5R on consoles would lead to the same situation as VF4Evo on PS2. Only a few hardcore people bought that game even with the massive PS2 user base and the fact that the game was superior to VF4 in almost every way. What do you think would happen on 360/PS3 which don't even come close to that many users? The fact is that this is a great game that the mainstream gamer and many fighting gamers simply refuse to play. VF5 didn't exactly set the world on fire. I'm not exactly sure what the solution to the problem is but things don't look good. The way they've restricted the distribution of the arcade machines is really bizarre to me. It's almost like they're trying to kill the franchise or something.

I've always wanted to get my hands on VF5R but when I looked at the situation realistically a long time ago, I realized that it was pointless to obsess over it. All I can do is enjoy the games that are actually out and expect nothing more. There are many other good games to play as well.

Enough about the VF5:R not coming to console. It will be here.
I noticed a trend in Gaming nowayears that i won't go into but i understand what leads up to this madness involving due dates and Money.

In a nutshell heres what i came up with a few things that leads to the delay.

    1)R came out a year ago ver.A
2)We are now on Ver B. almost a year later Which has animation upgraded and new hitdefs, ETC.
3)We all know this is a upgrade along the lines of VF4:Evo
4)Its Only in Japanese Arcades at the time being.
5)This game is a bit of a money maker so far in japanese arcades.

    Whats does this means?
    It means

1)VF5 hit consoles almost a full year later after being released in 2006 (January 2007 PS3 version B./Xbox version C 8 months later in 2007.)

2)Version B.is the Shipping version for PS3(AS with 5).PS3 got VF5 with version B while Version C is Xbox 360.(Could it be because of exclusiveness timing? After all there was FT version of VF4).If Xbox gotten VF4 it could've been FT then.

3)Being that this is a upgrade. The upgrades will warrant a 30$,35$ purchase (Additional $10 because of production values now)Just like Evo.

4)Its only in the Japanese arcades because
no coorperate ran arcades exist in America especially with this recession.VF is not that big so it won't do well next to a Tekken 6 machine honestly. Since Sega Has Sega Themed arcades that bring in dollars. VF cards with Data can be sold like Live Arcade points for 20$ starter card (@ 1.50 a game probably.). To hell with spending money in the machine we could take your money on and give you credit to play a few games(Smart thinking Sega.).Also Sega can have a little time to generate a few bucks for expenses making R before releasing to systems with online options that might/will Kill the arcades flow.

5)Not mention You want data for different character? You Buy different cards. Then you just put money on the card like Metro cards when the funds are done.

So in short Fellow VFCD'er be cool this game will arrive shortly.
Just let Sega recoup arcades expenses in Sega World first.

P.S this is just my opinion.
