Do you still believe in VF5R for consoles?

Still hoping, I have doubts since it's really hard/takes a long time to find matches online, it's like hardly anyone plays this game, I still see some new (begginers)people here n there so that's good I guess. And them not coming out with any new patches or DLC items for VF5 kinda gives me hope too.

    A few questions though.

Are these E3 things done every year?
Does VF5R not being announced at E3 necessarily mean no VF5R?
Was VF5 (and previous VF's) announced at an E3 thing?

    E3 2006 had arcade VF5, E3 2007 had PS3 VF5 ver B and E3 2008 had xbox VF5 Ver C.

    ... E3 2009 has no VF cause we're not getting it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

K, so it's damn near safe to say if it's not there we're not getting it.

Well, we'll just have to wait and see then, i'm sure they're keeping a nice tight lock on everthing so it doesn't get leaked.

    B4 U jump ship /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Consider this...

Although VF 5 was one of the first fighters released on the consoles, and after all of the new fighters have came out,
its still the best looking, best playing fighter on the market!

Dude... from a fighting perspective the game is almost perfect!

Even if there was never another release on consoles this game is
worth playing as long as we're on this generation of console. And that's gonna be a long time.

I would be very disappoined if 5R doesn't come to consoles, but I do have VF5. I've been playing UFC 2009 all week, and when I switch back to VF I realize how far ahead of everybody else that
VF is. I have PS3 so no online /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif The best VF play is lag free, pull-the-plug-free in person matches anyway. Online would be a added benefit, But I enjoyed VF4 for years with no online and VF4 EVO was da bomb :D. Yep I would like to get the
two new characters and some new stages and online, but even if 5R
doesn't come we still have and can play the best fighting game on the planet.

At some point VF will hit the last release because AM2 would have taken the game as close to perfect as it can get (its almost there now[/size]) Does that mean U stop playin? Look at it like this.
Chess is Chess, they don't get new boards and new kinds of pieces every year /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Its at its perfect state. VF5 is an awesome rendition of VF for the consoles, it looks awesome on 50000-to-1
ratio HD, it plays awesome, we have good sticks (at least for the PS3) And half the VF experience is the actual people you meet (in person) So if we never get another VF its all good

Gosh, how often do they update Pac Man? I know people who constantly play it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    L_A, remember this:

The mountain is beautiful with snow. But after it loses its snow, green grows from underneath. In every loss there is a gain, as in every gain there is loss.

With VF5 we gained an online community and have loss the realization of the true value of VF but with that loss we've gained the opportunity to find its value again.

    Seize the opportunity /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Well.... I would agree with you completely if we had the latest version of it.
The case here is not that VF5 isn't good enough. It's that it's hard to enjoy your chess board and chess sessions when half of the world (Japan /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif ) plays with 2 more pawns, and their bishops can move in a completely different way.... Also, you do check mate by blocking one the queen, not the king. Cool, huh? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Everyone plays Pacman using the same rules, right?
    Just saying... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I understand your point completely but when it comes to me, I don't like the VF online game and most everyone here in LA is retried excpet for plague and his wife. Alex (phoenixDth) and brian (goatcheeseblues) come to play on special occasions but its a rarity.

To keep in shape for the game I play ALOT of dojo mode and ALOT of quest mode since thats the only thing I can really do outside online VF which I dont really enjoy. I don't play anything to suck at it and the thought of going back to training in dojo and quest for another 6 months until another gathering rolls around simply makes my head hurt. How long should I have to put up with just training in dojo to stay competetive? Six months, Two years, three years? Just in the hopes that a new game will come out and the community here can thrive again. Its just too painful for me man.

I want to play people that challenge me and without R, I doubt players like Alex, Brian, Spotlite, Dre, etc are gonna start playing VF again out of the blue. A new VF release for console was what I was banking on to refresh the community here but I have a feeling its not gonna happen.

I have no doubt in my mind that VF is the best game i've ever played (fighting or not) but for what I want to become in the game, there just aren't enough players in my area. Alot of people here love VF online and enjoy playing it but I don't. Sorry.

I dont enjoy online VF. Actually, I personally feel that online VF holds me back from being better than I am. I could be wrong about this because I havent played offline and I havent played vf for years like most of these guys. Ive only played vf for a few months. Months come june I Believe. As much as I want VF5R to come out here in the states, I havent even gotten good at VF5 yet. There is still a ton of things for me to learn about vf5 and VF in general.

Though I might not be able to play offline players or hang with the best of them. I do appreciate the oppertunity that online presents me with being able to play people. Sure it isnt the best, but it beats having nothing.

L_A: I understand what your saying but honestly? I think the same thing that happened to VF5 will happen to 5R. People will play the game for a bit, And then quit when they want something new. If that doesnt happen, I would be HELLA surprised.

I'll say this, I enjoy Online VF5 , but I can see how some people dont. One, you cant choose Dural, two , it's supposed to be vs mode , yet you have to exit the session just to change characters. 3 , and this is the main problem : its full of n00bs who exclusively use Pai , Lau , Jacky and Lei Fei. Not only that but they use them on such an unskilled beginner level its a tedious chore to pummel them. Here and there a few decent wolf jeff and Aoi players pop up, but they are few and far between.

That said it's still a blast to play online VF, havent done that since PC VF2. If VF5 R ever comes out on consoles, I would buy it for both 360 and PS3, since I have arcade sticks for both and that would widen the chance of coming across some decent players.

But how about a quicksave on the replays, Sega , I hate making people wait between matches.

From the bleak outlook on the forecast of E3 , plus the rotten economy, we may only see VF5 R as a japan-only release on PS3, since the japanese market tends to take more risks with niche games. Plus it 's getting close to 3 years since VF5 came out, we may see a VF6 arcade /console announcement before we see console VF5R.

I'm feeling what LA said man. I met tons of great people because this game, but without R to keep the momentum flowing forward I just don't think Vanilla 5 will be able to keep this community afloat.

If R doesn't get announced tomorrow or by the end of E3 I'll put money that what ever players are still around now with dwindle away.

cmon dudes, they JUST released ver B in japan, announcing the game now will KILL the arcade revenues. we'll get it eventually (sucks for us yes).

There is no proof that announcing VF5R for consoles will hurt the frequency of arcade use in Japan. You can get Third Strike and Super Turbo ROMS easily on the net and those games still rake in the quarters. And I don't see the console release of SFIV hurting it in the arcades at all in Japan...

It's not like they are announcing the game to release it tomorrow. The release would be in the distant future I'd imagine.

Though as the hours go by it feels less and less like 5R is coming to consoles.

Then it'll probably be ver A. released for consoles.

If ver A was all we got(cause ver B. has no gameplay changes right?) I'd be decently satisfied.

And remember, there's always T6BR to play in the fall if R does not come out.
