K so you're not *quite* that dumb.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the storyline part, but I think that unless geeking out with what-if's is truly all you need to be satisfied, you will be repeatedly disappointed by sega. They'll never get a substantial storyline, they'll never add blood, they'll never add fatalities, they'll never add supers, and I'm fairly sure they'll never bother with custom endings. Taunts are also unlikely. If speculation is fun for you, you might as well write fanfics, it's a perfectly valid way for 'those of us with some creativity' to get something extra out of the game. But if fanfics isn't your bag and you look to sega for something to satisfy the side of you that isn't interested in gameplay... you're not gonna have as much fun as those who come to VF for gameplay and get exactly what they expect.

I'm with Creed on this one, but I'll take it a step further. As far as I'm concerned, Sega should have replaced those pitiful excuses for "storylines" (in the PS2 instructional booklet for example) with frame stats/combos/strategies. This makes 1000% more sense than some half-assed storyline thrown together as an afterthought. BTW the game doesn't need blood....that's what mortal kombat is for. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

Wow, we've got people giving out addresses and promising ass-whuppins...cool. Apparently Midway has been slow in releasing War Gods II and so it's time to set up melees in our front yards. We'll be feeding the (insert ethnic/religious group of your choice here) to the lions in no time. I'll get to the point.

BLOOD- Blood is what a third rate software design firm puts in their game because it lacks most of everything else. I'm not sure i need to see Lau sautee sara's earlobes then deglaise the pan with a nice red wine and finish with a lemon wedge for the fatality.
Oooh Oooh Oooh, Jacky could do his lightning kick thing d+P+K,K,K,K,K and on the last kick lightning could actually fry the opponent to a crisp then he could pull off a little chunk of the fighter's arm or something and eat it and say "YEAH!".

STORY- Maybe I'm just a moron but I've generally felt that the story stuff in VF gives some indicator of what kind of matchups to expect. I mean, a good Lei-Fei vs. a good Lau is a nice fight, and a skilled Aoi vs. a skilled Akira is pretty cool to watch as well. Styles make fights or whatever. Other than this possibility, I don't find the story important or intriguing whatsoever except, is there some man/boy love thing going on between lion and shun? They arrived at the same time and both stay low to the ground...lion was young and impressionable and shun does drink a bunch and then there's lion's mysterious disparagement of the elderly...is this from his well battered subconcious?

Anyway I'd like to see a manga of VF made by a good author... like the author of Tenjou Tenge...

People that aren't fans of Manga in the first place... obviously.

I was asking that to see if you were against the author of Tenjou Tenge or against the idea of a manga on VF4 since you just said 'no' without any explanation.

So which manga artist do you believe is good for this undertaking?

You don't need a VF Manga.

I personnally think it would be fun to see the characters we usually play with in good drawings with a solid scenario, not the too basic 'tournament' setting.

I thought there had already been some kind of manga-type thing that elaborated on the VF story, which is where some of the current background discussed on this site came from...

I know there were several mangas that were made on VF but they are all supposed to be crappy.
I only found one of them and it really is bad.

There was also a VF anime series that had 2 seasons.

I dunno...a little blood and sweat wouldn't be so bad. If done well I think people would warm to the harder edge it could bring to the series. And I disagree that VF series is particularly realistic or pure - some of the moves, especially the throws, are quite graphic and dirty to say the least.

Besides, calssic marticl arts films have blood so why not VF? Nobody is saying we need Mortal Kombat degrees of gore, but a tasteful amount of sweat, blood and facial bruising would be cool IMO.
