Do Names of Fighter Games Matter?

I always hated it when people called "virtua fighter" "virtual fighter" I know its natural to want to add the "l" on the end but it isn't necessary ya know?

I don't even know what this game would be called if it wasn't virtua fighter. Super polygon Fighter G!
