Dead or Alive 5: Last Round

I'm looking forward to getting it, I don't have a stick to play it yet though, I might have to use a pad in the meantime. Not thrilled about that, but I guess I'll manage. I can't wait to get the game on PC, i'll actually be able to train with my main character (Mariposa) instead of going off of what I know from Virtua fighter, Tekken and a few videos I've watched. Thus getting trolled in tournaments whenever I play someone who's even somewhat good. That'll change when LR comes out for pc.

 

No, the arcade uses the three button layout. The game though displays T in the input display if you push H+P and in the move list though.

Here some info I heard via gamefaqs and free step dodge and me asking Team Ninja on the official DOA fan page on facebook:
-DOA1 music (both original and PS1 versions) includes intro theme, "The New Century"
-NO USB music player for the ps4 version.
-digital version for at least PS4 version gets showstoppers encore dlc with game for first 4 weeks.
-According to the Xbox One marketplace, there's day 1 DLC including I think pre-order costumes and swimsuits from the japanese collector's edition.
-Also some people are already playing the game and says it looks great on the new gen systems.
-Also there's supposed to be a Day 1 patch for online play to be made much better.

 

Here's another video I posted up with the outfit I submitted to TN and the creation of the outfit and ideas came from Ghosty-J.

 

This glorified balance patch is out on PS3, all the new chars are locked they have to be purchased, same as in Ultimate, every new char that you hadn't already bought is still locked. I checked dojo for couple of minutes and then turned off the game, don't plan on touching it again. So yet another balance patch for Ultimate, this game will receive even more patches in the future i'm sure. Fetid..

 

They fixed the netcode, I noticed.

 

Some themes from DOA Dimensions also made it, such as Shiden's theme for example. Not sure about Kasumi Alpha's...

 

Really, what's the name, I'm not sure if I unlocked it? Also I didn't see Tina's original DOA1 theme, only the PS1 version, also Jann Lee's original DOA1 theme has a different title, it's not under, "Lonely Warrior", it might be the Japanese title.

 

Wow didn't realize this was a free update for Xbox 360 / PS3 owners. So yeah gonna fire up my 360 and download the patch to play around offline for a bit.

By the which is the preferred next gen console for players? Xbone or PS4?

 

Got the full game yesterday for PS4 and I've been having a blast with it! Honoka aka "DOA's Greatest Hits! vol. 1" may very well be a dangerous character in the long run...Raidou is a monster, the guy is almost a Mishima with his EWGFs-sooooo much fun!

Loving how all the music from DOA 1, 2, 3 and Warriors Orochi is unlocked in-game- Raidou's DOA 1 theme is legit!:


The graphic-upscale on PS4 isn't too bad either, it looks clearer and the particle details look great. The KO-dramatic camera angles have been added to a lot of moves as well, like Akira's CB for example. Looks badass!

Although, it does suck how Team Ninja went about this, because the PS3 LR/PS3 Core Fighters version/Xbox 360 version don't include the new stages, hairstyles, costume options UI etc. according to the main site. Not to mention there is no cross-gen netplay, like with GGXrd...

Well, from what I experienced last night at some points, there's some issues...One round literally wouldn't allow us to make any inputs and it wasn't lag. It was pretty weird. lol Another had so much lag, it was like fighting underwater. lol Outside of that, typical netplay still imo.

I can't really say, PS4 will most likely end up having the larger install base due to Core Fighters, but who knows?

Nice that the fan made outfits free (just have to unlock em). Though my characters of choice (Kokoro, Phase) fell short of coolness for my taste But even still, wether I like mine or not. Hella props to the creators/designers that got their work put into the game! That's gotta feel amazing.. Poor Jacky though, lol. I'm sure he has his audience out there.

I'm thankful they gave us the free update to Last Round. I was thinking Ultimate was going to be deserted for me once the game dropped.

You know I'm really trying to understand the logic behind your bashing. I bash the game, but I try to give examples of why I think something is bad or broken and then some times an example of how it can be fixed or made better. But your bashing just comes off as pure hate. I'm just saying if the hate is that strong why not just ignore this thread?

 

Nah they didnt , played a lot yesterday still getting PowerPoint slide show style matches with 3bar connections

 

Logic is this is the least stable game i've ever seen, I am endlessly disappointed by the constant cash grabs, re balancing, and countless bugs this game has. If I hadn't forked over a lot of cash to buy the full disc based DOA5 on launch, only to have it destroyed by patches and then paying full price again to buy DOA5U at launch, only for it to be again destroyed by enormous amounts of patches. Add in the fact that I was dealing with INFINTES, and countless other broken things in the game that needed to be addressed over and over and over again. The fact I worked on frame data and certain setups only for the data to be constantly changed and the setups to be completely removed & rendered invalid, on a regular basis, makes this game a perpetual annoyance to me. If team ninja has a refund option for all the shitty versions of this game they out dated, made buggier, over patched, then sure i'll be satisfied. I would never have bought these games and sunken so much time into them if i'd have known it was an unfinished product, that still to this very minute is not a finished product. As a customer who purchased these games thinking I was getting a stable finished game for a full retail price i'm upset and seeing that their latest version now has more people that just bought the game on other platforms experiencing unacceptable issues is a source of aggravation for me.

I understand some people think it's fine to release unfinished games on the public for full retail purchase price, and then constantly patch them to remove glitches, bugs, and infinites, that the Developers couldn't be bothered to thoroughly BETA test for in the first place. Sure I get it. The question i've asked and can still ask even today is will this game ever actually be finished, meaning no more rebalancing, no more frequent bug fixes, no more cash grabs via repackaging of unfinished products, and no more down the line fixing of broken pieces of their developmental disaster, as their customers constantly discover them. So a refund or a completely finished stable product is what i'm interested in seeing. After dropping far too much money into a game that is still incredibly unstable with tons of bugs and issues constantly arising, yes I will give the game shit for not being complete, competent, or stable. I didn't pirate the game, I paid full price and I absolutely wont keep quiet about such an incomplete product as long as their are still endless issues arising. Not one thing about how they' approached or handled DOA5 do I find even remotely acceptable and yes seeing that the new latest cash grab repackaging of DOA5 is still insanely buggy and incomplete is beyond annoying to me, as well as it appears to be for the countless other customers who have just recently purchased this game thinking they were getting a FINISHED PRODUCT, but are now left frustrated and waiting for another patch/fix to be able to properly play something they've purchased.
