Compilation of vf 4 Akira combos

    i've been having some trouble with pulling off the [2_][6][P][P] and the [K]+[G] release [G] [1 frame] . it would be a great help me if anyone could give me pointers on how to execute these correctly.

    The [2_][6][P][P] is tricky at first as you have to press [P] on hit or guard of the sgpm. I've slightly modified the way I do it from wha is written in the guide but its all kinda done on feeling for me now. You just need to get an idea of the timing required.

    Knee is also tricky at first but will get better. You're aiming to flick [G] as you press [K]+[G] so that it registers [G] as being pressed for 1/60th of as second. You'll need a decent stick to pull it off (I use a Hori) though they can be done on pads.

    gosh i feel like a newb.. i'm still having problems with pulling both of them off. I know that [2_][6][P][P] would help out alot too... any suggestions? i really like [3][K]+[P]+[G]> [P] it seems to throw off my friends cause they don't expect the second hit, is there anything you can think of that would help follow that up?

    Yes... that move is very bad if "they don't expect the second hit". The real use of [3][P]+[K]+[G] is to parry certain high and low attacks and then follow with the [P]. Using it to "fake people out" is really a bad idea, as using the first part alone has pretty bad recovery alone on normal hit and even, to some extent, MC without sabaki.
    Nice things to do is to use the "false" DLC (df+[K]+[G], fwd +[P], [2] or [8]) and then use either d+[K], d+[P], or [P]+[K] from the back turned position.
    Additionally, use the fwd +P ~ bk to the df + P + K.
    Finally, try using a fwd, fwd + P to poke people to a quick df + [P]+[K]+[G] to parry and hit any counterattacks (don't follow it unless it hits, otherwise if they sidestep your opponent can really hurt you).

    well i don't know, it seems to be working for me. usally if i time it right and the second hit lands, i can do [6][6][K][K] before they hit the ground.

    Yes thats cos your getting a counter hit on it. You can also follow with [2_][6][P][P] or DLC (maybe only 2/3) etc as the gut collapse your getting is due to the delayed timing of the follow up elbow. Check out Hiros memorandums on it.

    Lion Only:
    [6][4][G]+[P][2][P]+[K],[3][G]+[P]+[K][P],[3][3][4][6][P]
    This can work on all if you delay the [3][G]+[P]+[K][P], but if they crouch guard it will fail to lift high enough. Works on Lion because he's a hunched back freak.

    Nice one cheers....theres so many differnet types of offshots after Akiras PIT its hard to get them all down....like

    [6][4][P]+[G]>[8]/[2]>[P]+[K]>[6][6][6][P]>ABC or DLC vs Pai.

    Or instead of rushing in with a SDE you can always run in for a throw or put the throw in instead of the RBC etc... Variation in his combos is what keeps me playing as him, as well as the huge amount of technicality that goes with playing him.

    An additonal note to this combo is that you must dodge to Lion's back, otherwise it can't work. I posted about this combo in the July Arcadia Stuff, and spotlite followed up with some correction/additions.

    If you look on the first page I explained all the shorthand (also did it on another thread). It is sometimes called AS3 which means Akira special 3.

    SPoD is Stun Palm of Doom [P]+[K]+[G]>[4][3][P]+[G]>[4][P]

    and DLC is DragonLance combo [3][K]+[G]>[6][P]>[4][6][6][P]+[K].

    On topic that combo ie

    PIT>RBC>[3][P]+[K]+[G][P]>[2_][4][6][P]

    also works against Jeff but no one else I think. You can also substitute in an ABC instead of the dbpm but I think it becomes TRable then.

    This combo is ONLY guaranteed against lion, but to do it you MUST dodge to his BACK from PIT throw. Then do bodycheck and IMMEDIATELY do [3]+[P]+[K]+[G][P]. Against anyone else you have to DELAY the [P] of [3]+[P]+[K]+[G] so it comes out at the last possible point that it can. So against lion don't wait just do it, against anyone else HEAVY DELAY.

    Hey calm down I am using delay in my attacks vs other people. The follow up elbow can still miss. What is the point in re stating the facts that myke and others have already spoke about on the thread??? I said the ABC is TR able as I've tried using it and the ais can roll out of the way of it.

    sry to waste you guyz'ses time, but i've been playing akira for a while now, and yet still i mess up the first 2 dlc hits here and there. i was messing around the free traning mode the other day, when i realized something weird. instead of entering in [3][K]+[G], [6][P], i for some unknownly odd reason find (quater-circle) [2][3][6][K]+[G] alot easier, and i always get the [6][P] right this way. entering it in the norm, [3][K]+[G], screws up the second hit [6][P] for me...I just hate the rhythm of [3][K]+[G], [6][P], its just plain annoying /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    if ne 1 would like to elaborate on this, it would be greatly apprecitated, thx /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Hmmm I'll look into it tonight. I know there are sometimes several ways to do some combos but I didn't know this could be done with DLC.

    I think the joystick needs to go neutral between [3][K]+[G] and [6][P], you can't roll it.

    O shite!, sry for that ppl's. i just realized i was pressing k+g during the [2][3_][6] *orange* process /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. it works when i do [2][3][6][K]+[G], but doesn't when i go [6][3][2][3][6][K]+[G] (when it is treated it like a full buffered move)
    its just that when some thing ends with a [6], i find it easier to follow up w/something of its own kind ([2][3][6][K]+[G], [6][P]...yes im all messed up /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
