Hench why I named it a down throw Attempt /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

    Np np
    Sadly.
Guess it's up to us to write some guides and stuff then éh?

At least someone posted the changes for Aoi from B to C though
    http://virtuafighter.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/175702#Post175702

    *Edit:
Looking at the changes for Aoi, I tried a bit of stuff.
If /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif hits (+9) you can easily get a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif in (which is a natural combo on the opponent's side and the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif side turns the enemy on hit) The last /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif knocks the enemy down and if he doesn't exact recover from that you can quickly dash in for a down throw attempt. (22+40+26 damage)

I'm new to the VF world, but I am a fast learner. I have been trying to set up with poking followed by multi-throwing. I have not been successful in finding a good poke move to leave me with throw options.

I have been success with setting players up by continuing to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, hoping they get smart to it and try to block the string (if not, good for me too). If they try blocking i just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif delay and then hit them with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif followed with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

Also I have notice that players will use a lot mid hitting in their combos. I tend to block the first few hits then predict the mid attack and respond with the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif reversal, most players will slow down in their attacks not wanting to be reversed again.

Currently I'm using her godly Tenchi Deflective Stance much more than the reversal. If I don't see what's clearly coming at me (whether high, or mid) I tend to end up using Tenchi quite often doing fabulous guaranteed follow-up damage.

probably hard to do online but try to exploit the +1 advantage on the ver c change to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif,
your lp will now beat there's so mixups galore from there now.

Ah, nice hint. Have to train much more moves for disadvantageous situations anyway. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, my little ball grabber move, is surely one of my favorites, though. TY for the version C advise.

So basically /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif can be to use to counter players' combos if timed, right? Will this open up to throw options on counters? I'm at work 'til about 7pm today so i won't be able to test it out.

How do you find out what kind of advantage / dis-advantage your at?

I know Users have posted ALOT of them here and you can find it. But is there a way in game so i can just experiment and see results.. I know VF4 had ameter you could turn on that showed you stuff like that but back then i didn't know what it meant :meh:

Okay back to my post earlier about setting up for the throw.
Here is what I came up with (probably nothing original).

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    if blocked then proceed with
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (or any multi-throw of your choice)
    if unblocked then proceed with
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
if unblocked and on player's left side then proceed with
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > delay /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
if unblocked and on player's right side then proceed with
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and prepare your next strategy

i'm sure someone will mention that it's better to use her big damage combos in these situations. I just prefer to crack bones instead of juggling people. I didn't choose to play with Aoi to combo people to death. i'm sure there are better characters for that. i want to punish them with grabs and reversals.

The problem is... those examples aren't really "punishing" people... throws are best when your opponent really makes a mistake, and they don't expect them. In all of your examples, you're following up your own stun move with a throw which makes it really, really easy to throw evade. Which means, you'll do potentially 0 damage, instead of using a combo which probably would do more than the throw anyway.

Throws are great... but you gotta be tricky with them a lot of the time. Try things like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. It isn't really a combo like your examples... but it works wonders on people that anticipate that low kick at the end of the chain.

well, i have not play against any real experienced players to test this out. It sure as hell works against the people i played so far. I mean i get what you're saying but really who is going to spam these moves i know i wouldn't. I'll would use them as a change up. If you are that good at throw escaping then maybe we can test it out. I'm still very new to VF5 so i'm looking to iron out my Aoi.

WarCri, if you are into throw games, then I might have quite a good, and pretty mean strategy for you to try out:

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is a great mid-attack, forcing your opponent to crouch if it hits. It's pretty much spammable, and can take opponents down rather fast. It is often surprising to opponents to do a crouch throw just as the attack hits.

  14. Sorias

    Sorias Well-Known Member

Does that actually work? It sounds like a cool idea, so I tried to test it out last night, and the crouch throw was literally impossible to land. As far as I could tell, if your opponent does nothing after getting hit, they'll still stand up too fast for a crouch throw. The recovery was really long too, I wouldn't feel comfortable spamming that over a faster mid attack like 3K or 6P.

you need a counter hit for the low throw to work, and you might use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for guarantee damage.

Aww, nin, with your Aoi expertise you really should start write more about Aoi providing us with more Aoi-related fighting strategies to think about. If I remember correctly, I even used d/f+P back in VF3 - back then (in the good old times) ...

How about some guaranteed follow-ups to successful Tenchi counters?

Well, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif seems to be a good follow up. There was one more, but I forgot XP

Yeah, there's an official chart posted somewhere, but I can't find it, it's not a very long chart, the topic is more boring than you'd expect. 64P+KP will almost always work. I believe 66P+KP is technically guaranteed, but you have to buffer it really early, so most people don't use it. And if the inashi ends with the opponent close to you (i.e. high punch), then you can just use PPP or 6PP followups, those will miss if you tenchi a knee or something though, cause the opponent will end up out of range... I'd suggest just learn 64P+KP.

Using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif after a canceled /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or a canceled /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is potentially deadly they won't be able to jab to counter hit it or do a mid because of its special properties and if they just duck it will hit them because it is a mid regardless. One can also do the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif if they block and anticipates the counter hit you can also try a low grab if they duck expecting a high throw. Overall it is a big guessing game and the best aois they do the g cancels leave you guessing after a fake based on how you react. even doing a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif as well to be more offensive minded and this move can be cancelled for even more potential fun as far what the aoi player will do next.
