And I take that there will be a couple players from Columbia's group. Anybody else? Kaminari_Oyaji, perhaps?

We may have to put a cap of entries i am thinking between 26 to 30 for both. I am expecting a big turn out for SC2. But you never know who might show up and what might happen.

In case we run out of time we "might" have to have the finalists come back next week to finish. Or shorten the no. of games played for semi's and the finals. We only can be in the lab til 10 or so afterwards security close the enitre buliding down.

So the eailer you come the better I say come no later than 6:00-6:15

You missed a wild one, bro. There were a ton of people that showed up, but mostly for SC2. I don't know who won cuz I had to get to work, but I know Shota kicked a lot of ass single handedly (literally, one of his arms was in a sling). By the way, thanks for hookin up that Pai combo for me, Shota. I think I've got the hang of it. I think I must be jinxed cuz all of my matches went the same: 1st fight goes down to the wire and I lose, 2nd fight goes down to the wire and I win, 3rd fight I get my sorry ass kicked, but I did learn a lot that night! I'll be there this Friday (12th) with my Steel Battalion on Xbox if anyone wants to check it out.

That wasnt shota. That was Cap'N Clutch, and he finished second. Shota was the japanese guy in the suit who played Lau and Jacky.

Christ, my memory is shot. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif Working overnights at the Post Office will do that to you. Hey, do you know if anyone recorded some of the fights? I remember seeing some real classics that night. Well, off I go to celebrate my 24th birthday the best way I know how: sleeping. I'm beat!

Too bad that WCMaxi couldn't make it that night.
I trained him hard on using Sarah.

Fury...see if you can get Cap'N Clutch more involved in our gatherings more; I think he's got potential.

As for SC2 results, it is just as I expected.
It's the result of playing at the arcade, against many different players competitively...i.e. training hard.

Hey i was thinking of havingn one at my house..
concidering i don't have a PS, but have 3 accessible,
plus since i have hosted 3 work parties at my house..
i wouldn't mind doing one for VF..
something like the old days..
a couple tv's going together..
some people from out of town..
and my favorite food and/or porn or movies going on , on the side..
Even if its just for an evening (fri or sun)..

just an idea..

I will say the tourney was ok.
the matches no doubt, were fun ( i sure needed to get some practice in)..
The tourney itself needed some help with organization..
If people came in late , unless they were from out of town, they should have been told it was too late..
shoot, i would have gone home and gotten my stick if i'd known that..

That would be my only gripe with that.. people (outside the vf participants) needed to help them out by trying to pay attention.. some of those SC people were like not even there mentally or something..

TV's could have been grouped a bit more (SC on one side VF on the other)..

Just my two cents...

Reflections:

-I thought it was an unorganized train wreck but it seems like a lot of people enjoyed it. I wished we were better organized, I had some bracket i sent to some one but they didnt print them and some else hada bracket maker program but he didnt show up til 7:15. Also I wish I could have provided better prizes besides cash but its the best we could come up with. If every body had fun i guess than it was successful.

-Fury, GG you gave me a run for my money with wolf a little. . .STOP THAT!!!! JK

-Next time i will NOT have two tourneys at once unless we as a group are on the same page. So I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

This was my first VF tourney. I wish I could havew played better. And my god what way to lose than missing a SS charge w/wolf but instead a whiffed elbow down attack that cost me that match to the finals /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif. . .oh well. I just hope we get more people to come and play with us.

-Cap n Clutch /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif. . . . . . i demand a reamtch some time. But I do have to thank you for your expertise when we came to an odd man out situation in the semi's

-SC2 had so many entries like 24 people or so. Wow. But i expected that anyway. VF 11 entrants. Not bad. I was hoping for 14

-Sta783, wow your Lau is just off the chain i would like to play you again somnetime. The more comp we get the better. I did ok with wolf against you but i rather use Kage or Lei fei but i am soooooo rusty with Kage.

well kiddies thats all. i would like to hook up one weekend for some VF games w/ you guys. I wish there was a way i can get more people to play VF evo in Chi maybe people might give it a chance if we have more events and gatherings.
