Carolina Impact Battle 3 , Greensboro, NC

Srider, ChampD said that all tournaments will take place with maybe the exception of T4. There are 10 pre-registered for Evo and several people on the SC2 boards have said that they are bringng a few people each.

Would anyone that live in the area be willing to possibly host me and maybe up to two others for a night? Since I don't think any of us would be up to do all that driving in one day.

 

Bu_Jasoom, can you host us? 10 hours of driving in one day + tournament doesn't seem feasible.

 

My apartment in Charlotte is open to any tourney players. PM me for details.

 

Actually, bu_jassoom made arrangements for me and flood, but since you are also in charlotte, maybe we can all get together for some vf after the tourney. (We won't arrive till registration time on saturday.)

Now I wanna play more Evo, dammit!

This turned out to be more like a gathering with a tourney on the side (^_^). But for me, it was definetely a refreshing change that made me wanna go back and play Evo regularly now. I don't know about you guys, but I thought the atmosphere around the Evo booth was friendly, and I felt like I have known you guys for a while, even though some of us have just met on that day /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Now for the brief shout-outs and thank yous:

Srider: It was good to see you again buddy /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. You play well with several characters, and I enjoyed getting my ass kicked by all of them, hehehe. You beat me with all of your characters, but I thought your Lau was the most annoying, lol. J/K /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

flood: It was nice to meet you /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Your Goh is solid, and I liked the way you kept struggling out of the st, sgpm several times! I know struggling it is different from character to character, but it's still impressive (I wish I can struggle from it with Akira though. I would love to see someone who can too). Keep-up the ground throws, hehe /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Drift++: Playing against you was a total blast my fellow NC player, and that TFT > Ringout on me in our tourney match made me scream! lol. Nice Kage /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif (and thanks for bringing your setup too).

Caveman: This is what you taught me when we played our matches /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif:
1- Shun's + is a but-kicking move.
2- Evading + after techrolling is asking for trouble lol.

Nice Shun man /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. And thanks for kicking me out of the losers bracket, hehe.

Fireballtrap: It was good to meet you again, but it was bad that we didn't play any games together /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I know you were busy with GGXX I think, but I liked your Goh match(es) against flood.

Longshot: Congratulations for placing 4th on SC2 /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I really liked your 2nd match against Srider, you almost got him with your Aoi. You should have warmed up a little bit before your tourney matches, but I know it's hard to focus on more than one game at a time, especially with SC2 having so many entrants /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

The Bear: Nice throw-escaping with your Vanessa! I gotta learn how to deal with that mount (^ ^)*.

ChampD: Thank you very much for helping in making this event happen /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Too bad you didn't get to play Evo, but maybe next time. I really LOVED those SC2 setups though! A projector in the auditorium + computer lab = hot /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif!

Overall, I had a really nice time /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Thanks to everybody who made it. I left the place (and got lost in downtown GB) with those personal discoveries:
1- I officially suck at Evo! lol /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif !!
2- I should have joined you guys for lunch when you left. Hahaha.
