    Re: Quick Qs

    1) MVC2 and CVS2 would just be 2 outta 3 matches. GGXX will probably be 2 outta 3 rounds instead of 3 outta 5. That's probably Ron(Ryucross) call. ST will probably be two outta 3 rounds.

    2) ST on Playstation is gonna be slow. But the tournament is going to be at my school. And I want A&T students to participate and Playstation will attract people. Nobody on campus probably don't know that ST exists on DC b/c they don't import much. I might could use the extra DCs if there are alot of people. That's why I urge for pre-registration. I'm gonna try to run 7 tourneys at once. I have the room for it. I'm going to try to finalize the location. I have it reserved but I need the paperwork so I can advertise on campus to bring some extra jolt to the pot for yall

Fair enough, tho i have another suggestion /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Hyper Street Fighter II just got released for PS2, and it includes all of the ST versions (and yes, they are arcade perfect, a code has been found that gives them all of their ST properties). Is there any chance we could play on that. Seems like that would attract more people as it is NEW and for PS2.

    I have it btw. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    PS2: Rest in pieces!

Just when there was a reason for me to fire-up that PS2 and practice some single-player Evo, my PS2 had to give in to the pressure and just go in a coma! In other words, it won't play DVDs or DVD games anymore, which means no Evo before the tourney... Unless I steal a friend's system or something /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Oh well, I guess I will manage (^_^'). Are you guys going to play warm-up before the tourney? I need to at least remember how to hold the controller right /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif (Seriously, lol).

ChampD1012, didn't you forget to list fireballtrap in the list of Evo players? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, I PMed Champ about that, but I guess he hasn't read it yet. But I think it's safe to say we now have 7 people for Evo.

That sucks about your console. Champ did say that there would be at least 1 TV per game, so I presume that there will be some warmup matches. If you want to make the drive to Cary one weekend, we could get together. I don't have much room, but a couple people could play comfortably.

    Re: PS2: Rest in pieces!

Sorry about your PS2, hopefully mine won't do that after I change the case so I can play imports. But all the tournaments are going to happen. The only one thats suspect is Tekken 4. I will start promoting on campus on monday so hopefully A&T students will come for VF4 Evo.

    Re: PS2: Rest in pieces!

One of the reasons my PS2 died is that it was modded to play import games (among others). It wasn't a fliptop, but rather a more traditional mod. That's how I played both JPN VF4 and JPN VF4 Evo, so I don't even have the US versions of each (^_^).

However, my system was a Version 1 US PS2 (the oldest PS2 from day one), and it's the worst. So I guess this was bound to happen. If I am gonna buy a new PS2 it will be the new Ceramic White one, Japanese only. Looks gorgeous and will do most of what I need /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Aight thats great. I can't believe you have a time limit to edit stuff. I also have lists on shoryuken.com , soulcalibur.com, and tekkenzaibatsu.com. The lists tend to be more updated there b/c I can edit. I always have to create another post of the list on this site.

Maybe you can link us to the pages on the other sites? Or just simply make a reply to the initial post with the updated information. Or if you want, just pm myke about it and surely he won't mind making the changes for you or let you edit without time limit. You'd do that myke won't you? /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sweeeet nectar. Can't friggin' wait. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does anyone participating in the Evo tournament have the equipment needed to vid-cap the replays? If so, I'd be more than happy to shell out for a memory card or two. Or is saving each match going to be more pain than it's worth? I wanna be able to watch me getting my ass kicked again and again. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Also, I noticed on the thread at soulcalibur.com that good-sized TV's are in short supply. How's that looking?

    Re: PS2: Rest in pieces!

Well, saving each match isn't such a hassle as long as someone keeps a record of who played who in which order. Since the game saves the replays in chronological order, there's no need to take the extra time to type in the names everytime you save. As long as the brackets are clearly laid out and people played the matches in a specific order, you can easily sort out who played whom. So really, it's not a huge hassle. I'd be happy to cap the vids as long as I can get my cap card working again... so I can probably do this.

    Hyper SF II

FireballTrap, could you please bring your PS2 and Hyper SF II? I am really considering using that especially if there is a code to put it on super turbo. I ordered a copy so it should be here before CIB 3. Thanks.

so given the preliminary number of people, is this going to happen or not? Cause I don't want to drive down just to see the tournament not taking place for a lack of participants.
