I'd got the DLC out last night, oh yeah. I begininng to get a better feeling of how the knee is executed and maybe I'll end doing it on purpose rather than by accident in the future..

[K][P][G] [4][3][P][G] [6][P] it's not difficult to master just try to put the command as quickly as possible and try to make it right. As for the knee try to do this[K][G] and try to push [G] button at the edge of it ,try to do this as quickly as possible. Also for the DLC combo try to put it as a buffer move like after the knee, uppercut or the shldrum.

How about the SPoD move? You have to be damn fast to do it!

The SPoD actually doesn't require that much speed compared to the DLC. (for me anyway)

The DLC cramps my fingers after awhile. /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What the hell how's everyone's abilities on doing the knee? I've been getting it out 7/10 now when I am in more of a Zone like mood. When I'm not I'm getting the knee 4/10 of the time. Pad skillz baby, huhuhu. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I used to be able to do all of the moves on pad (with the shoulder buttons though /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif).

The SpoD and DLC had to be the hardest moves period to get consistently (with the exception of doing modifies moves).

For the Spod I would use

    L2 - [P][K][G]
    X+O - [4][3]+[P][G]
    X - [6][P]

I could barely get it at first, but practice in command training fixed that.

    The DLC was:

    R2 - [3][K][G]
    X - [6][P]
    R1 - [4][6][6][P][K]
    - - - -

I usually had trouble (at first) doing the Knee from the TFT on the Dualshock pad, but I learned after a month of practice how to get it most of the time. But to this day (even though I use a stick now) I cannot get that Yoho, P , Shrm, Dblplm combo consistently, it took me a while to actually get it off in a match, that is (imo) that hardest combo on a pad for VF. (Except for the AK's Knee of course).

As far as the knee is concerned, I remember a time I got it three times in a row (YEAH!!), but it usually took a couple of tries to get the first one.

But for anyone who has a pad, Sega did a great job of mapping out the buttons (if you don't like you can always change them), so good luck, and have fun. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hey DumbAss, I guess you haven't figured it out that you are a annoying little FuckTard and I really don't like you. So STFU on a topic you have little or no experience in.

Smurf, what the fuck was that all about?

You asked a question expecting replies. Someone replied with the information you were asking for (and then some, though it's fair to say nobody's gonna care).

This board is for training, and emp's post was on topic. Who knows, his button assignments might even help newbies and actually help train someone.

Your post, on the other hand, was pure trolling. Don't fuck up this board with that useless shit. People come here to learn, not to see pissing contests. It's one thing if the guy provokes you or you're arguing over something, it's another if you start shitting on someone out of the clear blue sky.

PS: Fix your sig. It's fucked up to have new board members come in thinking there's something wrong with a guy without ever reading a single post of his... which is what'll happen whenever they come across that sig. They can figure out things for themselves by reading the posts.

Yeah kungfu, what's up with that ? It didn't seem to me that he was looking for trouble or anything.

Anyway, concerning the knee, I can probably pull it off 4 maybe 5 times out of 10. That's the only move I've haven't been able to master on a pad. I still don't think the results are worth the effort though, probably why I stopped practicing it. Also Akira isn't my primary character so it doesn't really bother me. As for Yoho, P , Shrm, Dblplm I can't do it consistently enough to try it in a match but I'll definitly continue working on it. I prefer the ol' P, DLC combo most of the time. What ?? It still looks good ! And knee after TFT is so easy it's pathetic. But I'll admit that it's easier to do on a stick.

WTF happened here? /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif What Empnova bashing season is over already, oh well I guess my timing is late again as usual.

Hey, look every time this wanker makes a post on a topic or thread it doesn't seem to have any bloody merit in my opinion. His post always seems to have info that's either too generalized or too detailly format that's obviously not from him. He's like a little kid, always coming up to you and telling you what he has done to gain your attention without end. Besides I'm tied of seeing his comments everywhere it's like freaking SPAM!

Even though my post aren't trolling free either by some people's views so I'll respectfully change my ways for future posting. I'd accept when I'm wrong and want to change instead being in constant denial. Lastly if my venting on Empnova boy gets me burned by everyone so be it, I can live with that. That's what shades are for /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Yep, I can do it all. The DLC is slightly less reliable on a pad (though the knee and SPoD are highly reliable).

    I use

    . [P]
    [G]. [K]

All other buttons turned off. Well, not ALL other, since I have R1 set to K so that I don't have to keep switching controls every time I plug in my sticks.

I tried playing with only 3 buttons and it just didn't feel right on a pad. I can't play with index on square, middle on triangle and ring on circle. Too awkward for me.

ive been playing VF4 for a while, but this is the first time ive been on this site, and uhh i dont know, the fastest ive ever completed akira's move list was 2 min and 57 sec

i dont know your wild abbreviations but
    [P][G][K] [4][3][P][G] [2][4][P]
is the esiest of the three hardest
The knee isn't that hard really, i dont use it in matches, but i could if i really wanted too
    and
    [3][K][G] [6][P] [4][6][6][P][K]
is the hardest, i used to have it on lock and use it a lot, but sometimes i have a little trouble with it

I refuse to believe that anyone on a standard pad can pull of Akira's knee conistently and I'll Callvote a high marking on the BS meter on anyone who says they can.
That's right - until I see it IRL or video or something (which means I'll stand corrected) I say everyone who goes "Oh I can do that move easy" is lying or trying to impress on strangers in a silly way.
You can not brush your pads buttons as you can do on a stick period...

Totally OT; It's g'damn hot in Sweden right now...

What do you consider consistent though? I mean, if someone can get it 50% of the time, that is (imo) very good for a pad user, but the problem is the variables...

Like if I wanted to, I could probably do the Knee maybe 10-15% of the time in training mode (I haven't used pad in a long while for VF), but in a match, I might be luckly to get it once /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

I too have a hard time believing that these pad players are supposedly getting 50-70% success ratios for pulling off the knee, and doing so in Kumite/Quest/VS is pretty damn though for anyone, period.

The way the DS2 (or any other standard controller) is designed, is not for having buttons depressed for amounts of 1/60th of a second, the movement required for the knee is just plain unnatural.

Later I will go into open training mode with a DS2 pad, and see how many times it takes me to get the knee, and how many times it takes for me to get it two (maybe three) times in a row....probably never..

Thanks for calling me and a few others liars, you punk. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just because you cannot do it yourself does not mean that others cannot. I happen to hold the buttons on the DS2 just like when I'm holding my arcade stick buttons and it works very well. The only reason I use an arcade stick while playing, at all, is for using Akira since I need more speed from my inputs that the d-pad cannot give me.

I think the VF pad players who takes pride in their abilities will have to make you eat those words. I admit that in the begininng getting even a single palm is hard w/o [2_][6][P] but the knee is not impossible which from past gathering people have seem. I have done the knee in competition couple of times even though it wasn't intentional. Besides the KNEE is the dragon punch of VF and it feels so damn good when you get it out, it's BUTTER baby.

Now I have to remind myself to capture some comps, YAWN. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
