Wow, there seems to be alot of players playing this game. VF is a very difficult game to master no matter which char you choose. Alot of people give up in the early run. My advice to all is to download more clips from this website to get more 'feel' and understanding of the game. That was how I started to learn Akira.

If you play Jacky, Aoi or Sarah, check out the staple combos for them at 'Character Techniques and Training' forum. You should try to do the most damaging combo on your opponent from a specific move while at the same time recover as soon as you can. This way you can constantly pressure your opponent.

Hi, I think i would call u D.Shun cos will feel bad calling u "Donkey" leh. Heheh. I went there quite often so had came across many kinds of players. There was once this "siao kia" who challenged me 16 TIMES in a row, really nothing better 2 do hor. Oh yah, perhaps u guys would want 2 introduce urselves 2 the rest. It's gd that the VF crowd is expanding,YEAH!!!

I had browsed thru the guides 4 the char training but can't really understand some of the stuff there. 2 me, i think this game is all about strategies & wits.

My sister had retired from the game long long time ago. She's now obsessed with IRC, turned a deaf ear 2 my words, really drives me nuts!! Anyway, that "Ah Pek" that u r looking forwards 2 is coming this Fri leh....heheh..so u know what 2 do hor...C U.

I think very few ppl have the time and determination to master VF lah, my gf last time also got play but quit cos the learning curve is way too steep. One can only be good in VF if he/she gets good competition on a consistent basis, its hard to improve if you lack patience or gd competition.

I read that Jeff is going to the states? Whatever for? Study? Freddy back in SG already or still in Oz? Maybe can meet up someday to play a bit before Jeff leave for states.

 

Jas, can always ask me mah heheh. I won't eat you one lah. Just print out some of the stuff you down understand and bring it down. I'll explain everything to you and your bf. I think you and your bf are the last few surviving Vfers.

Andrew, yup Jeffrey leaving to do his masters. Not sure exact date. Maybe he can tell us all so we can arrange for a big party of something lol. Freddy just came back yesterday so expect to see him soon. After my trip from Japan, i stopped playing VF totally untill Collateral said that there are more pple on weekends. However, its still me and Jeffrey having our usual Deathmatches. Not too bad consdering we didnt play each other at all in Japan.

Can't come down this Friday though cos got work. Monday to Thursday anyone?

 

School's starting for me this coming week, so weekdays are probably gonna get harder and harder to go... Lessons ending at 10 pm doesn't help my gaming life. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif Saturdays ?

There are a number of guys still playing, but mostly restrict themselves to the home consoles, which is kinda sad. Hahaha... Jasmine is one of the few survivors from the VF3 days. Think most of the crowd from those days have mostly retired/semi-retired now too.

Think I've played Ah Pek already on Saturday ? An Aoi player that is pretty good with reversals ? or was that some other guy ?

Hi Gerald, i think that Aoi u played with on Sat is Blur from this forum too. Remember u also played with someone using Pai? Well he's that irritating "Hor Sin" that i mentioned b4. He also challenged Danny last Sat. I really hate playing with him, so desperate 2 win that he resorts 2 poking & sweeping, irritating man!! But that "Ah Pek" was fun cos he's really gd but very careless leh. Jeff said he's from Taiwan & he's coming on Fri.

 

Wed sounds good, hit me with ALL your queries! lol. I use to remember my initial VF days where no one will teach me anything at all. Didnt even know how to techroll or escape throws. Get ring out by Kage's TFT also dunno why. I thought Kage was the cheapest character then LOL.

That's the thing with VF, beginners will always play defensive ALL the time. Like when i was in Tokyo, there would be alot of those corporate dressed business men out to irritate you during their lunch hour break or just before the go home for dinner. They will have like 5000 loss 1000 wins LOL and they come in all kinds of chars with their trademark 'Chicken' icon on the bottom of the screen. They just cant be bother or too busy to bother to study more about the game hence, they will resort to ANY means to beat you.

I remember watching them banging the machines and putting their 100 yen aggressively after they lost continuously to Ice-9. heheh.

 

Hm.....

So happy to see so many people playing VF these few days. Will stay at home to train up my shundi. Getting lousy and lousy these days cos too much Tekken 5. Still think VF is a much fun game to play.

Its so nice to see the VF scene going in the upwards direction. Its being a while since we play VF, go opposite coffee shop eat chicken rice than go back play VF again. Good old days.

I went down to Bugis on Sat. but only played till 6.30PM... got a few players (4) there.
