Haiz.... Gather ki lan... Tomorrow celebrate gf's birthday. Saturday and sunday helping out at grandma's stall. Looks like its more secret training at home again. I found a 69% damage combo for Devil Jin >.<. Slightly harder than the one i always use.

Anyone knows where to download combo clips? I think must be member of Tekkenzaibatsu to access them. Must pay or is it free like VDFC?

plenty of links to other sites for movies..in particular...CAROL....jesus the amt of movies there is insane.

(unforunately, carol encoding is abit weird...sometimes slow server issues, sometimes cannot enter...the clips are often 'unstable')

BUT, most of the time..it is fine , heh

Just something to help you guys deal with marduk players.

At long range, marduk can go into his stance (ie, he places his hands on the floor, as if ready to attack). If he goes into this stance, he has quite a few options.

One of which is lateral movement (ie, moving sideways). When he is moving sideways, he has a window of invulnerability to throws. However, after and before his lateral movement, he has a window of vulnerability to throw attempts. It is also possible for a marduk player to continuously do lateral movement from stance, thereby making him impregnable to throw attempts.

Another one of his stance attacks is a mid kick. I'm sure some of you have seen it before from the usual place. This mid kick is rather slow in execution. ie, punching marduk before his stance mid kick is a possible approach.

The most dreadful stance attack is, of course, the one where marduk rushes forward and presses you against the ground, before starting to hammer the daylights out of you. AFAIK, pressing 1+3 or 2+4 will allow you to escape the punching exercise. Not sure if there are others. This stance rush attack interrupts all attack moves (ie standing and crouching attacks, including rising kicks). So, it is possible for a marduk player to capitalise this move on those other newer players. The worst part of it is that you can't sidestep away. Moving away is one option and rushing forward to attack is another option. Characters like Lei could lie down to evade. Doing a jump kick can stop the marduk stance rush throw.

Marduk also has a low kick which staggers standing opponents. The good news is that it isn't as bad as it seems. Struggling out of it is an option.

If you have watched the videos, one of the better Japanese marduk player places a minimal emphasis on stance attacks. Yes, that means there are certain inherent risks to marduk's stance attacks, which have been elaborated to some extent in my post.

PS: Names of the moves are not used to avoid confusion. Hope it clears up the mystery behind this 4 limb monstrosity.

I have some experience against Marduk, one against a 90%+ 1st Dan player and another against a 75% Expert. AFAIK:

    - As Marduk goes to tackle, you can escape with 1+2. However, there is a window where you have to inpu the 1+2, otherwise you get tackled.

    - Once tackled, there are three options: 1, 2, or 1+2. 1 or 2 will block the punches (depending on LP or RP), and 1+2 will dodge the attack where Marduk uses both hands. So it's a 3 way guessing game.

    - Timing matters however, you can input it too early or too late. Also, Marduk can also fake.

As for the dodging around bit, I just play machi, waiting for Marduk to whiff before DEATHFIST!

The machi style is effective against marduk's rush, only if he is not banking on playing a "time over" win. On the side, he has effective and cheesy moves to get easy wins. In the hands of a super machi player, Marduk is a nightmare.

IMO, for anyone who wants to create a nice-to-see win-lose ratio card, Marduk is a pretty choice. The stance rush works on most people. OMG.

The game had been released for like 3 months. Some of them have less than 20 losses on their cards. They must be "gods" of Tekken. All 90% winning rate.

Anybody planning to hold something tomorrow?

I'm not surprised to see high win rates--Tekken 5 isn't much different from TTT or T4! The good players already know how to play. It wasn't anything like VF1 -> VF2 -> VF3 -> VF4, where in each upgrade veteran players had to really change their approach to the game.

Tekken Zaibatsu stopped it's free movie downloads because the enormous traffic was causing it to crash.

You can also try www.arcadepimp.com for movies - this features all the Aussie players.

And er...anyone interested in SC3? The trailers are out hoo yeah! And slated to be released in arcades end of this year...console release on PS2 only. ^_^

I was switching between an SC2 and Tekken console session today and it seriously screwed me up...I keep forgetting about that G button...

Of coz...wondering what SC3 will be like. Let's hope it's not SC2-ish heh. Maybe Namco will go back to SC1 formula? Regardless...I hope it will be fun. (Although I must say, I did enjoy SC2. But since I am a yunsung player....errrrr)

Ken...hey bro, how are things? Hwoarang in TK5 is fun!!! Anyway, I will be making a trip back in a couple of months time. We'll catch up heh. I heard KK is always in KL nowadays. Heard from him yet?

Christine : btw, Adrian sneaked attack on me n called me last Friday. And yes!, the boy is still in uni haha!

"gods"? That sounds like an absolute overstatement. Its kinda obvious that there is some mortal act behind these godly high win-lose ratios.

Summah: Cool - I kinda heard from Adrian the other day too heh. I received an SMS from a friend who was holidaying in Melbourne when he went to Highpoint for T5. Adrian met him and asked if he knew me and to say hi.

    Arcades...connecting people...-_-*

Anyhoos, maybe you can pray they beef up Yunsung with some god-like moves =P Alternatively you can use the super slutty looking new geisha character...I have no idea what she attacks with...her umbrella?

haha, glad that more people are learning TK. just read a good article about the difference between players in Japan and Taiwan, and it is quite inspiring. (even though the article was about tekken, it fits perfectly to the VF community as well. actually, i didnt know that there are about 40K people playing Tekken in japan right now.) if you guys are interested in the article i can paste it, but it is in chinese though. :p

    Hm.....

After much consideration about what you said the other day, I have decided to learn Yoshimitsu. Think he is a much faster character though much harder to master. Really fun playing the other day with you. Hope you didnt get into too much problem with your girlfriend for being so late.
Hope we can play some time soon. You take care, my secret training partner. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif now its no longer a secret. I saw this guy with spiky hair and wears glasses. He is a little thin, about my height.

Is he the Wang player you mentioned? This guy I played uses Wang all the time and did the same combos as you. Quite skilled also, but didn't use card.

    Hm.....

That Wang player is a bit big sized. Anyway, will show you next time if i see him.

Need to ask something regarding Tekken 5 (PS2)

1 - I got difficulty defeating players with the Warlord ranks. Does anyone have the same problem? Is this the case with everyone?

2 - The x2, 3, 5, 10 after a match is a random thing or is there anything I can do to make it appear?

The bonus roulette is totally random. One time, I got it after every 2nd match...5 times in a row...won alot of money!

    Re: SGP VF

The warlord level opponents are difficult, but are just as flawed as any other lower level opponents, eg they fall for certain moves most of the time.

The worse part of this is that their combos are always lousy. And, the tekken roulette does nothing else, but giving you more credits for more items.

btw, u got the game ?
