    Haiz...

i want to play but the gameplay so different from VF. The key to win is to wait and wait and wait then EWGF..... then 40% life gone then wait and wait and wait then EWGF.....repeat X times.

    Song bo.

I can't do EWGF. Teach me the correct timing ler.
I think Heihachi 2,2,1+2, then foot stomp enough. That move is thief. I just use this move to rank up in the PS2 game.

BTW, you going to Bugis tomorrow? I think Ice-9 still in Indonesia.

    Re: ice-9

I press the Right P at the [2] direction rather than [3]. So its..[6],[2]+[P],[3].

I can do nearly 80% of the time at home.

    EWGF->EWGF->[P],[P],[P]->EWGF.

EWGF is not that hard, just make sure that you input all the commands clearly and quickly. (damn, i sounded like i just BSed, but it really works. ) but i am surprised about Danny's way of inputing EWGF, that is almost the concept for the sapphire (omen) TGF for Heihachi. but the command is just f, RP, d/f. but all these have to be done in 1 frame... for some reason, i can do the same move with hworang (sapphire launcher) which comes with 2 frames input time. and i did it just like the normal way f, d, d/f RK. you just treat it as EWGF timing and it usually comes out.

to fight against EWGF, wave dashing seems to work quite well as EWGF is not high, and you can always just duck through it. Who do you guys use by the way? Danny is playing Kaz? Ice playing Yoshi or Marduk?

I am using the same method as Danny's.

    Seems to work the easiest.

(actually, I didn't know the actual timing, I just thought it doing it real quick...and figure out that pressing 2 when i press d seemed to be most natural)

    Hm.....

Think Danny's main is Jin Kazama.
Jeff ----- Paul I guess cos he mention it in the earlier post.
Me.....Of course its Wang Jinrei cos I can only play "old man" characters. Actually wanted to learn Yoshimitsu but its just too hard. Played like 3-4 hours with Wildy and Wilson and still dont know what the heck I am doing.

I thought Danny was using Devil Jin.

Jin - Try to use him and very bad at using him.
Christie - One moment, she lie on the floor. Next moment, her legs move here move there.
Wang- the things he said are so funny. "Xiao huo zi, blah blah blah"

I think Ice-9 use Raven and Yoshi. Because he's a big fan of ninjas. no...?

    Oops.....

Maybe I could be wrong cos I still quite new to Tekken 5 and cannot really differentiate the characters. Anyway, Danny use this character who can emit laser from the eyes yesterday when playing with me.

    Devil Jin loh.

anyway...nice to be able to catch up with u guys during my work break hehe.

But what danny says is the 'correct' in the sense...the game easily allows machi..wait wait..punish whiff with launchers etc etc.

It CAN GET extremely annoying when ur health is behind only by 10 pts n opponents immediately machi the rest of the game...

Makes for a very slow paced game at times.

Otherwise, the game is generally quite fun.

Well guys, take care...see u all in a couple of months...
    ESP you , zhifeng! ^^

now i am jealous when Summah said especially Zhifeng and not me. muhahahahahahaha

actually, thats why i like TTT its because for machi player, you can just tag and ram them. lol. well, it will be hard if you dont have some characters with good steps (like wave dashing in). but yeah, i hate machi players... because tekken supposed to be a non thinking game and you should just keep fooling around. :p

damn, when you guys are talking about playing with your wangs..... it almost sound erotic. lol.

Shundi really like old dudes eh? why not try Heihachi? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Hm.....

Went on Thursday night. Not much people. Its seems like fewer people are heading to Bugis these days. Anyway so disappointed cos my Wang kanna thrash by an average Tekken player. I dont even know how to block his string combos. Got beaten like an idiot!!! So pissed off. Hai, Tekken is so hard to learn.

Zhifeng jus waiting for enuff gold to buy some Shun's items for his Wang.

He got this fetish for old men.

Imo, VF will always be a better game.

depth wise, definitely vf is so much deeper than tekken. but it is a good aside i must say, while we wait for VF 5. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif but i guess sometims, VF is a little bit too harsh. playing tekken mindlessly is fun IMO.

but nah, lets not compare games, let's just play. hehe

    Re: SGP VF

Hey hananokeiji and Shiki, ask you guys something.

Today there was this Lee ChaoLan. All he does is wait and when he sees the chance he kicks me into the air and pp,pp,pp me into the wall. That is his tactics. And then that is. With the wall behind me, I am screwed.

So how do play against people who just wait. And how to defend when I am knocked down against the wall?

    Re: SGP VF

Unfortunately T5 seems to reward turtling quite a bit =P.

So...you can out-turtle him. Maybe keep doing that 44, 66, 22, 44, 22 etc…thing that makes you look like your character’s going into an epileptic fit if you get bored haha.

Or...if he's the dumb kinda turtle who just stands there you can put as much distance between you and him and then start running for a shoulder charge/slide.

Or...use a fast fast poker like Steve or Nina and pitbull him to death. Who are incidentally considered top characters now due to their speed, easily executed damaging combos and general bitchy disposition. Steve is more of a bitch though (and no I'm not biased cus I use Nina =P). Grandpa Mishima would be good as well I guess with that cheesy ultra fast punch combo – 3 LP LP

Or...you can do a pretend whiff. Like run up to him and then step back just a leeetle bit in anticipation of that launcher. It’ll whiff and he’s free for either a launcher or throw. If that Lee is using the 2,1 RK…the kick where he sways back a bit and then does a huge ass boot up, he’ll have frame disadvantage on block.

Still on fake whiff - do a move that just begs him to come in for an attack. For example I do Xiaoyu’s 4~3 (RK~LK) flip and lands just a bit away from him. Lee comes in for an attack but I do a while standing RP. He eats the counterhit and gets launched instead. Of course that wouldn’t work if he does some other attack that interrupts the ws RP but…we’re back to the basic scissors paper stone gameplay in that scenario I guess.

    On Walls…
If you get juggled into a wall…sorry dude, you’ll have to eat huge damage. There are several options if you’re knocked down against the wall. Either eat a ground move which will hopefully push you into another angle away from the wall. Or pick one of the methods of waking up from ground – toe kick, instant kip up, low sweep kick, rising kick, diving forward, handspring, rolling to foreground/background to interrupt… If your back is against the wall…get out! Or if you’re using a character who have position switching throws, use it. They’ll be the ones who go splat against the wall . Can also try the very rarely (here anyways) used wall jump – 4,4,7.

Sometimes Tekken is not about juggles…sometimes it’s the ground/wake up games, it’s okizeme in Tekken…dunno what you call it in VF. So…have to explore the many different ways of waking up. An example of a character with sick okizeme is Nina – she can pick you up in so many different ways if you guess wrongly while on the ground. She kills easier and faster with oki than with juggles (well if you wanna get technical it’s her juggles that lead into the oki). Same for dirty old man Wang as well…yes he’s a dirty Wangker of a character >_<

Aaannnd…I realised that I’ve just typed up a damn long post…hopefully I didn’t lose anyone in there o_O It’s not bullet proof strat but hopefully will give you an idea. I know how it feels to pick up another 3D fighter when your base is in another one...can get pretty frustrating heh.
