Hey everyone, FT at Bugis is 50 cents!! But it's still Version A. Anyway, Danny and I are going to go there tonight to play...hope to see lots of people. There's no excuses now, though I guess you can still complain about Kage's [4][2][P]+[G] inflicting 60 points damage.

Just to update, VF4-FT Version B is available at Choa Chu Kang Lot One. Five squares. Good for practices as the computer AI is not set to hardest. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My Paul is going to do some serious wrecking.

Has Danny gotten in touch with anyone yet with the cards? We should organize something so we can all try them out at Atrium (since Bugis is Version A).

Whats the sidestep property in this game. It seems that all the moves can track sidesteps.

    Re: Version B in SG

What's the highest rank? Tekken-Lord? I am now at Champion. Still trying to get familiar to the game. I am so used to VF style. Always trying to sidestep but always got hit. And the speed of pressing 1,2,1 is so much different compared to pressing [P][P][P] in VF. Always screw up combo.

Now using Steve. But trying to learn another character as well. Someone like Kage. Easy to learn and easy to win. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif Better start training cos Ice-9 says he is going to do serious wrecking with his Paul. (-.-//) You all better "bang" chance me. I am a noobie.

Maybe we can arrange something like this weekend at someone's home.

Dude, I'm the major newbie here. My Paul is 1st Dan LOL. When and where do we meet? Bugis or PS2? I'm curious to see how I match up with the Tekken hardcore players now.

PS2 lah. Would you recommend a noobie to play against Danny in VF in Bugis???

Maybe we can play VF(Bugis/Atrium) then go someone house to play Tekken. Friday or Saturday is ok for me.

    Re: Version B in SG

I stopped by Bugis today to play Tekken...not bad, around 40-50%. I started losing when people did 10-hit strings though. Man, Tekken bites.

BTW, new guy playing VF4 in Bugis. Kenneth thinks he's Japanese. Plays Jacky, Lau, and Akira, though I only played against his Jacky. Pretty good--I'd say around 8th dan level. Does dodge throw escapes, knows all the Japanese Jacky tactics, etc. Someone should get his name and get him involved more. VF > Tekken.

oh my gosh!! i just found out yesterday that tix is gonna be dead cheap coming over to SG. (cheaper than me going to hk lol) i think i should come over as soon as i am done with exams!! then we can have some VF and Tekken action!

i have been playing heihachi since tekken 3. haha. but i stopped tekken after ttt for the wonderful VF. i must say, tekken is kinda fun considering that it is much easier to pick up than VF.

by the way, FRed, where are you........ no replies from you dude.. /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif) everything ok and cool?

wow 8th dan? i am 8th dan too lol. there are just too few players in macau to promote me lol.

Delune: sidestep needs to be done with a different timing than VF. to me, in order to guarantee your success with dodge, you should do it at the last moment! if you guys want to get quick tekken questions, dont hesitate to write me!

    Re: Version B in SG

10-hits string is annoying man. In ranking matches, I was leading more than half a bar. Then CPU decides to go into 10-hit mode. mid high mid low low mid low ... rinse and kill me. Definite killer for a noobie like me. If we go play the experts in Bugis, we should try to act as though we can block 10 hits. If they know we can't block 10 -hits, that is. KO.
5th round, do 10-hits and we die.

And the costume customization is quite bad. Worse than VF4 when it came out.
I think Steve bought these items from the VF characters in the backyard sale:
    Bandana - Jacky
    Chainsaw - Goh
    Rope - Sarah

hananokeiji, in VF, if your move is blocked you immediately press [8]/[2] to dodge. Do you mean in Tekken you see the move, then you press [8]/[2]. What about string moves? How do you dodge those? Or is parry a better option? Is there delay attacks in this game?

    Re: Version B in SG

Zengzi: Yeah, it sucked when the opponent figured out I didn't know how to defend against a 10-hit string. Kept using them every time he needed to win. That's why I hate Tekken sometimes...forces you to learn stupid stuff just so others can't abuse them. But once you learn them, ithey becomes useless.

Anyway, I think the dodging system is quite different from VF. It seems that in Tekken sometimes you have to dodge early, sometimes late, and some moves are half-circular or full circular. Personally I never dodge when fighting up close, I just dodge the slower attacks like Paul's DF from a distance, or Jinpachi's long range moves.

Danny and I watched several top ranked Japanese Tekken players, and they almost never dodge in a match.

Danny: LOL. And let me know what your new HP number is!

what the hell is HP number? hand phone? cell phone? home page? muhahahahahaha anyways dan, gimme a buzz thru email if you need anything. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

as for 10 strings: well pretty much most of the 10 strings starts high. all you have to do is a 2p and then you should be able to get yourself out of it. of course you might have to study the details but really, usually at the 4th or 5th move, you can do something about it. parry and etc work wonders too!

for dodge, the best way to do it is anticipation. believe it or not, you can actually dodge full circular attacks if timed correctly (well, they might have changed it in tk5, but i dodge bryan's d/f 4 by a dodge. the way to do this is predict your opponent's move and dodge accordingly. i dont think i noticed in tekken you have to worry about the direction of dodge. because it seemed either way works really. that's what i meant about the broken rules of tekken) but like i said before, these statements are based on t3 and ttt, and it might be outdated. but i will keep you guys informed if i digged up anything.

actually, i think japanese players do dodge. when i was playing tekken in japan, they do evade EWGF on me. but their steps are sometimes hard to catch. you can see something simlar here

darn... i hate LLB... it is really draining my life.... together with work.. sigh....
