The State of FT in SG

    hi guys /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

First of i'm trying to get atrium to install some hi-definition monitors for us in the FT machines, i don't want to say it's confirmed, but it looks likely that we will get it.

Next I would like to ask for the interest level in a tournament. I will be willing to make arrangements for one, but of course it takes 2 hands to clap, and the only convincing argument i have will be the number of players we can come up with.

So please, who is interested in a tourney, please raise your hands /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif i have some numbers to work with, $5 entry fee (which i will try to lower) anyways your money will go towards a cash prize (in all likelihood).

The tourney will be held at Atrium (on either Sat/Sun), double elimination (i will try to study the jap tourney formats to see if anything can be implemented, look forward to comments from those who have been to japan tourneys' b4), hopefully by maximum 1 months time, earlier is better so that we still have peoples' interest in a tourney, and the management so far seems really interested in staging a tourney for us.

So not much left to say, pls add your comments

I will like to ask you one thing. Who will pay for the monitor. The arcade or us, the consumer. If installing the monitor means that the price is kept at credit = $1 for an additional few weeks/months, then I will say, forget it.

Re: The State of FT in SG

Nice, I definitely welcome the HD TVs! I'm sure there will be many games in the future that can take advantage of it, so hopefully the arcade won't think about relying solely on VF to recover the cost.

Plus, it's pretty clear that lower prices = higher volume. CCK is currently taking a lot of business from Atrium because CCK at least has first to 5 rounds. IMO, you'll probably get more guys coming in and "training" if the play was set at 50 cents.

As for the tournament...SIGN ME UP! Unfortunately the VF community fractured a little bit now that there are three places to play FT (Atrium, AMK, CCK), so it won't be easy to access everyone, but hopefully there are enough to make a tournament. I would probably ask the Zone X to put up posters about the tourney to generate additional interest--let me know if you need help.

Probables and who do play at Atrium:
    Danny
    Zheng Zhi
    Tianming
    Kenneth
    SG-Lion
    James
    Wildy
    Morpheus
    Myself

Other guys who may and who I've never seen at Atrium:
    A.T.
    Keat
    Zhi-Feng
That Shun player in Bugis, don't know his name
2 guys who play Jacky and Kage in Bugis, don't know their names
    Wolf player in Bugis
Pai player in Bugis (yes, the one we all love)

Players who do play at CCK and AMK should raise their hands to spread the word!

BTW, regarding the joysticks. I have problems with the sticks. Although others may not have any problems with the sticks, but I believe good sticks will benefit everyone.

I talked to a staff (guy with specs) yesterday and he said he will inform the technician when he comes. I hope everyone will try and "remind" the staff so that they will eventually change the sticks.

Hey Singapore, as most of you know, Danny and I will be going to Japan this Sunday (or Monday, if my visa needs an extra day). One of our goals is to get our cards registered on vf.net

We cannot promise anything, but if you guys have cards that you would like to also register, I will be coming to Atrium this Saturday afternoon to collect them. PM with 1) your desired username and 2) change moves wanted.

I don't really know what's needed to do all this, or whether there's a cost involved, and so we can't promise anything but we'll try. Also, if we lose your cards please don't blame us. I've personally lost 3 Kage cards, 1 Jeffry card, and 1 Shun card. So there's a risk in giving us your cards.

Give us $20 each as this is the price to buy Webmoney to pay for your account with VFnet.
