Yeah its true that most of the regular players seem to have disappeared... but its not just that. The game is just not getting any interest from the local gaming community. Most ppl play anything BUT VF because they think its too complex(which is true), and the few new players that is "brave" enough to play the game quits the game after a few games with Danny. Heh...

There is simply no new blood and playing with the same guys over and over gets old real quick...

And then there is the problem of availability. There are only, what 2 Ver.B(and a few other Ver.A) machines in the whole of SG, compare that to the Zillions of KOF/SC/Tekken machines and you'd know why VFevo is so unpopular in SG.

You should have seen the SC2 tourney crowd at Bugis yesterday, even I, a non-SC2 player was intrigued. If only those ppl would play VF... Or maybe I should play SC2 instead?

SC2 quite worth playing actually. But, a bit brain dead sometimes.

I feel that VF evo in Singapore dying out soon. One of the days I think I going down to bugis for a few games. A bit playing with the same pple. Might as well stay at home play, save money. :p

One really good Lion player I sparred with used [4][P][P] a LOT...but he used it well. If your elbow gets blocked and the opponent tries to elbow back, I think [4][P][P] will "evade" the elbow. You can also delay the second hit, so watch to see if the first one gets blocked.

I think you guys are greatly exaggerating things....

Wildy, you don't even play at Bugis that much!! In fact, there's been a lot of new blood, but they're very pai sei to play with the rest of us because the gap is still quite large...and it's not like you can hide it if you have a card. But that's what training on the PS2 is for.

What is for sure is that the "scene" is healthier today than it was for Version C, and definitely than Evo Version A at Yishun (boy now that place is far).

Let's face it...the gap between the best SC2 players and the "average good" SC2 players isn't that large. Shit, even I can pull off the upset and I don't even know all of my character's moves, not to mention annoying little "aaiiiiiii!!!!" pokers like Taki.

As for VF...it's highly unlikely that the "average good" player can beat the top players with any consistency.

Damn, you guys should come to Tokyo. There are players from every dan everywhere!

Ok lah, I take ur word for it. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

BTW, when r u coming back to singapore?

I thinking of going down to bugis tomorrow. For the past few days, I have been experimenting with the other characters. Hope got pple tomorrow(Tues). I post again to confirm whether I am going. Probably late afternoon. ie, 4 to about 6.

I m also playing SC2. But, on my PS2, its pretty easy to learn. After a while, sc2 becomes a bit monotonous and boring. Same moves and stuff. Sigh...

Yah, there are definintely more ppl playing the game now compared to Ver.C/EvoA, but we didn't even have Ver.C in the arcades, and we had only 1 EvoA machine in the far north. Its only logical that things should improve, because it simply couldn't have got any worse.

The bottom line is things have improved, but the improvement is only marginal. Still a far cry from the VF2/3 days.

    Wah!!!

Must try. u joining? If got evo tournament, danny sure go 1. hehe.

Vf2 was the ultimate. Vf3 was also quite popular in its day. I was watching some retro VF2 clip. Apparently, the Japanese players were really good. Can catch the clips at vfevo.com. Its jaw dropping action.

Couldn't believe how good pple can be during the VF2 days.

If anyone of u have the time, try checking out the VF3 combo site. Its somewhere in the media section. Worth watching, if last time got play. Its mind blowing. Never see b4 combos.

How to join? I dun even know how to play the game. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
But then again, the game looks pretty simple, so I guess it might be possible to learn how to play it in a few days.

Dun think u need a few days. haha. I started playing sc2 earlier than my bro. But, he took less than an hr to pick up the game, cos' he played sc1 b4. hehe. quite fast, but if really want to be good, I think still must master most of the moves.

sophitia is also a good character to learn. Klik is another easy character to start with.

Think if I have the time to master the game, I might sign up for the tourney. Its a great deal. hehe. :p

Urrrm dont all games have the same moves? hehe
IMHO, SC2 issint as "Deep" as VF4 evo because its more fast paced(dun have much time to think) but definitely not something you can get bored of easily if you explore further. Just my thoughts. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When we refer to VF as deep, its not necessarily just mind games, there are other things like game mechanics/balance as well. VF4's game engine is simply tons more refined than any other fighing game. VF has come a long way since its inception...

I've played other games like Tekken 2/3/tag, KOF, SF, SC1, etc competitively and none of these games ever came close in terms of depth and balance. I've not played SC2 yet, but I doubt its any different...hope I'm wrong about this though. Hmm...I might just give it a try since there are so many SC2 players and theres an upcoming tournament.

Speaking of special rank, 'Xin Wang Seng Ke!' Haha.....
