By the way, there is a VF net for PC. You can customize your characters at home using your pc. Monthy subscription is 400 yen. Which is about SGD $6. However, the entire web site is in Japanese though.

Actually it is a lot more complicated than I expected, you need to get a free account for Dreampassport for PC, and then use that accound name and pass word to login to your Vf.net.

Too tired to go through the whole site. Probably do it after we have confirmed Vf.net access here in Sg.

 

Must be someone who inserted 1 coin but left thinking the machine is stuck since it didn't start.

What an afternoon it has been.

First, a huge FUCKING THANK U ALEX U ROCK for getting us not only ver B, but the damn cards as well!!!!
(BTW, my name is freddie ^0^)

The afternoon started with me seeing alex's post...me ringing gerald (who is with his GF, alas..bad luck)...so I immediately rang up Jeff n told him I would be there, pronto! Of coz, since I rushed out...I totally forgot ask Jeff the name of the place. I only know ppl call it bugis.
Lucky for me, the taxi driver knew where I wanted to go~

From todae's attendence, it would appear that the sticks are in great shape...with the occasional hiccup encountered ...(i,e u press this command, nothing comes out n u go 'oro???')

Of coz, urs truly for some unknown reason..cannot use those sticks LOL
(after some chit chat with Ron n Jeff...we discovered the reason..but i still like my VF stick leh..Damn my fucking useless hands)

f+p became d/f+p too often, etc etc etc etc etc
Jeff, Ron n kiat n attest to that...seeing my command throws become PG throws one too many times.
(Jeff was prolly going 'wtf..PG throw again, lucky summah' once too often haha! Kiat on the other hand, was laffing coz he wasn't inputting any throw escape commands! )

Strangely enuff, I managed to do DTEG, yet cannot do EDTEG~ If anything, TE was the only thing I got to do consistently...(not that it did me any damn good!)
This tells me,
There is only one solution to this problem.
I MUST GO TO ARCADE MORE OFTEN!
I MUST GET USED TO THE STICKS!
Then, I will lose with more *face* hahahaha!
I think I finally understood the stress and agro one has to endure when playing with sticks that don't seem to be a part of ur hands. I got soooooo focused on the stick..at times, my eyes were literally looking at the sticks haha! Very often I bo chap stance combos n 'alamak, u+p lah! Very depressing at times.

Social wise, it was great to be finally able to meet up with alot of new faces. Lotsa new friends for Summah todae haha!

During dinner, I mentioned to Ron n Jason n kevin(calvin? sorry) that the card readers, despite their sturdy appearance, are extremely fragile n must be treated with upmost respect at all times!

True enuff, the card reader broke down twice tonight!
(kiat, ur fault lah..u so chor lor hahaha! u deserve ur 0 wins 1 loss record HAHAHA! Joking lah..come next week again, this time we go makan dinner or something together!)

Anyway

We got someone to reset the game, n the card readers were working again.

However the second time it broke down, it was strange.

The game just refused to accept data all of a sudden.
What gives?

I think todae for me...despite all the big hooo haaa with the sticks personally, I found todae a very satisfying day.

It was good to be able to finally meet up with Jeff ( I pass u the CD next time we meet *wink*)

Also, I remember myke once describing Danny's akira as the best outside of Japan (myke left out korea though haha!)

After me kiat n Ron left the arcade, we were having our usual ciggie chit chat and I also mentioned that I agree with myke. (of coz, this is based on what I have seen with my own eyes. Others who know TTT will say TTT is the best. Rightfully so too. But, I can onyl go with what my pair of eyes have seen so far for now ^0^) Just a beautiful akira to watch...solid n aggressive. Lucky for us, that pig's damage isn't that heart breaking in ver B. Looking at danny playing ver A.. Yoho + combo sure send u to hell (or at least cry abit)*sigh*...thank god for ver B ^0^

Zhifeng's shun was also very good imo. Shun is one of those characters that ...hardly anyone plays n even if they play, they don't play him well. This is esp the case in the west.

For once, I can say ' hey, there is a awesome shun player in my area!' ^0^


One thing I really liked abt Kiat's lei fei is his ability to constantly switch levels n keep u guessing...very deadly. But, I did noticed kiat's lei fei to still be ver C style. Must be due to kiat's MIA...kekeke!

oh yah, there was Jason with his machine gun lau...n kevin..my god, our first match was just extremely funny.
I played a game of 'who dare wins' with Kevin n I lost..I ate sarah's FL 270 throw three consecutive times haha! Christ, Ron was right, I should have just gone home straight away haha~ How rightfully depressing, n yet I considered it one of the funniest moment for myself. ( by the third time, I was hugging jeff, asking for comfort hohoho)

BTW, christ I must say..so cheap to play at arcade here..i spent only 10 bucks the whole day (barring the cost of the cards). Plus..so much games here..unlike aussie arcade, even the best arcade in the whole of australia is DYING~

shit man, I have a meeting with zeng at 7am...is 5 now...I said yes without looking at the time..thinking it was 3 LOL~

Hmmm didn't hear about the card reader prob..yah i do agree its kindda fragile protruding out like that..sure hope no bastards go sit on it....i'll kill if they did...trust me i WILL!! Went through hell to get those..

Your prob with the sticks is not uncommon. Many of the SC2 guys now after playing the console version has got probs with them too. hehe Matter of getti g used to it i guess. Try getting a Hori Joystick pad. That way you'll have no probs at all. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

 

That's why VF players here play with Tekken sticks at home...it's closer to the arcade. No fan bias from us!

Are you guys watching the tournament online? It frikkin rocks!! Ohsu eliminated Jin, Arashi is gone. Chibita dominated in his match. Retired Kage defeated Napoleon!

 

Homestay just eliminated Ohsu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Damn I was rooting for Ohsu! Wow Chibita just won 3-0 against the Goh.

Couldn't help but notice, but Ohsu was missing a lot of his comboes. Bad day I guess.

Hey Zyeith, pumping money into the VF machine today at Bugis. One thing--there might be something wrong with the sound. Sometimes the voice/music would dampen or completely disappear...is it because we have the volume on too loud?

todae i went to bed at 6.30am
(sorry zeng, i REALLY tried to stay awake..i even continue to VF nonstop until i literally fell asleep lol!)

i woke up at 9.30
watched the vf movies from the sega site...they were showing tons n tons n tons n tons n tons n tons n did i mentioned tons of qualifying clips. I was streaming them no problem...then, SHIT HAPPENED!

The main event started..then my isp took a shit n refused to work...wtf

Secondly, I wish to apologize to Jeff, Zhifeng, Gerald (wah, I finally got to see u n I couldn't recognize u hahahahaha, sorry my friend) n Danny for my EXTREMELY LATE attendance. I was caught up in Holland V, hanging out with an old GF, then it starting pissing down real hard...n it went non stop....stopped for a while..then from 6pm..it went full strength until 8 plus!

I will convince my mom to let me go out n get my own telephone tomorrow. That way, it'll be heaps easier for me to keep in touch with u peeps!
YAY, I get to use new phone!

I do have a tekken stick at home n a VF stick. Initially, I liked the Tekken stick alot. But since I started using the VF stick, I didn't look back since. Todae I did a minor experiment and with Danny's help...I sorted figure out what my major problem is.

I can press diagonals fine.
But I cannot do d/f, d/f accurately...

No wonder I can do TE but had trouble with all other stuff. ^0^

Just a matter of me going to the arcade, get used to the stick then shouldn't be a problem liao. At least, todae I can do elbow 100%...I still spend a large amt of time looking at the sticks while playing danny too.
Lucky Danny was using pai, so I didn't have to eat ver A yoho 'i send u to hell' combos kekeke!

By the way Alex, the card system broke down again. This time, it happened outta the blue...once again, the game rejected the cards....zetai hen!

Todae I actually spent a fair amt of time hiding behind SC2 cabinets, watching ppl play. Wah liao, lotsa Ivy players sia! Saw ppl do summon suffering..damn beautiful! Heng the damange for that also toned down!

(one funny thing, I saw this couple playing SC2...I thought they were very familiar, too damn familiar for my comfort. Turns out they were players from Melbourne haha! Fancy running into my friends here)

Seems like the Card readers getting crappy...will try to see if theres anything i can do to it. But need more info..you mean the reader ejects card in the middle of the game?? If so, did the game stop..system hang or anything the likes?

I'm not sure the card readers "broke down"...but it didn't connect. This happened again late night (as on Saturday night), which makes me think the machine automatically shuts down its card system...maybe. Not sure.

Sorry, couldn't be around these days. The baby, driving lessons and all. One good news is that my little girl watches the screen as I play VF and she flails her arms and legs everywhere. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The next generation will be in the arcades soon!

 

It could be an automating mechanism to make sure that when arcades close (i.e. machines switched off) people won't have their cards stuck or the the machines shut down mid-connection. Just guessing in the dark here... If this is the case, there should be something you can tweak in the system menu to maybe extend the shut off time or turn it off completely.

 

Waah...Just about a week ago, I swear I could hear the crickets calling in the background when I played Evo in the arcade /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif .

But now with this card thing in Spore, all the 'gao shou' starts to reappear liao. Hehehe..
