On PSN... I've only had about 4 unplayable matches so far and I've been using wireless. I'm gonna switch to a wired connection tonight to see if there's any difference.

On PSN (wired duh), not bad with two bar, still waiting to get a three.

I think I added and played you yesterday. In the session, it was stiff for me, but I gained some adjustment to it. Wired or not from a test in fighting games, I couldn't accuracy tell difference, but it was more of the same in connection stability personally.

I have Comcast, which has it's negative moments from the companies reputation, so the few disconnects that I've had with you might have something to do with it.

Neighbor, I'm running on a Cat 6 wired network with fiber optic. It's not mine or my provider's problem. The bottleneck here is clearly the PSN server and potentially the other user but if they're in Japan, most likely they're on fiber too.

This time around I really can't tell the difference. I've had atleast one or two laggy matches on both. That's about it.

When searching for opponets in "my area" I found none. Not a single spaniard. I fought like 15 people for other countries last night though. Except for a couple slowdowns, everything went fine. I suck, but that has nothing to with the netcode.

Well, someone called me "cheating bitch" and I really don't know why but... :p

(Haven't tried it on Xbox yet. I like that controller better though)

I've just confirmed some pretty smooth fights between LA and NYC on XBLA. I can definitely get used to this.

Wired up tonight and the connection was superb... much better than wireless.

I use PSN and i dont have any issues. I am curios though what is the opinion of the good players in terms of competition on both consoles. In other words where is the better competition - PSN or Live? I am interested in EU region, so if anyone can share info pls specify the region u are referring to.

PSN has faster search engine, but you are not able to see the connection icon until join the match. XBL is slower but it's easy to browse everyone's connection before you pop in.

Under the best condition, I can't tell the difference between PSN and XBL. The only thing I dislike is the UI of PSN and people need to suffer wireless issue too.

More players psn but they disconnect soon as they lose - XBL better players but hardly anyone is online.

I don't have anybody disconnecting too soon, I'm going what seems like 10 to 30 fights with the same people before the get tired and quit. I lose count, but they stick around for a long time.

I'm getting nothing but slow matches though, like moving under water.

PS3, and I have a comcast high speed connection that is wireless. Maybe If I connect directly, it'll play better. Right now, I can't do any of my normal combos with Akira, only simple 3 or 4 hitters. Forget about just frames.

I don't have anybody to play off line, so this is a bummer for me...

XBL feels slightly better, but only because of less players with wireless. Both are rly good. As far as players I've actually had a harder time finding people on PSN.

PSN and XBL feel about the same to me. Blew through ranked on PSN though.

    PSN invites are a headache.

Ah, thanks for confirming this, I thought it was just me! This is sooooo annoying actually, because it's almost impossible to find someone with a good connection when you're forced (like me) to search Globally.

I've played two or three matches on PSN and it was hopeless, quite bad lag.

OT though, when people here say wireless, do you mean as in wireless internet or using the wireless adapter from the PS3? Because if its from a wireless adapter on PS3, I'm going to see about getting a network cable sorted out for my PS3!

Sony should have made the PS3 wireless N compatible. Unless your PS3 is in a good spot for your wireless signal, you're not going to get anywhere close to your full net speeds while playing.

Don't think N standard existed when the PS3 was designed. N is better but still not as good as wired.

I'm using a 500mbps powerline connection atm and it's working amazingly well. Wish more people would go down that route.
