i remember when Vf4 came out the posters said VF4: GRAPLE TOURNAMENT. isn't that what the game is all about? Trying to force guaranteed throw attempts on you opponent?? I remember when some noobs use to complain when I threw them I would just tap the sign for them to read it. SEGA made me do it! LOL

 

DM P+K CAN be punished DUDE! WTF are you talking about?!! Everything gets a boost online...live with it. Inputs come out slower for every move you do, whether you try to attack or punish. Our games aren't even that laggy to begin with so don't even bring that into the equation. How was it that I punished you just fine whenever you used DM P+K? You have to be quicker to punish online for just about everything. I mean come on dude...we've been through this shit. Look I'm not saying that I'm a master at punishing in VF but I sure ain't the one here complaining about how DM P+K can't be punished. IT'S BEEN PROVEN!!! I get punished all the time for it! Last time you tried to start doing it, I punished you for it. Pay attention. Then you try to throw me after a DM P+K and I broke out of your throw and then you get all pissed off and jump out of the ring! I don't know anything about VF offline? Yeah, I know I won't ever jump out of the ring when it's my own fault...that's just being a mentally weak player IMO.

 

Bad Games to me for all the horrible games I'm about to have after almost half a year of not playing. Oh its going to be delicious.

DMP+K is a pretty wack move to spam, anyone who does it already knows that; they just want to deny it publicly. I played a Wolf yesterday that did DMP+K, instead of throw, every time. Basically, when he wanted to throw he would do DMP+K, as if he didn't even know that P+G exists.

Wolfs evade attack is the most annoying DMP+K in the game (Vanessa and Kage coming in second). But it's not a sound strategy. Spamming it just allows me to perfect my response to it and lets me win, so go for it.

The worst thing about it is that it's a catch throw and it seems to eat most attacks. It's a side-stepping, ducking catch throw that eats attacks, sounds like a move that can be abused. Once you learn to react to it immediately, it will become their greatest weakness because you can break it, throw it or duck it.

When people do it after attacking every time, and you have to wait to counter, it can be annoying to just because it's so odd and unorthodox way of playing. I lose to beginners just because they have very strange ways of playing often. The constant abare always fools me because I want to throw so much...

 

Gernburgs, you probably say that because you're an akira player. If i remeber correctly. Maybe i don't. But in any case, i am pretty certain you don't play any of the following characters:

Sarah
Pai
Eileen
Shun
Lei Fei

If you were you wouldn't be complaining that furiously about that particular DM attack. You see, these characters hopping attacks make OS vane's evade launcher whiff *frustratingly* often. I supose that also applies for wolf's evade p+k (although i have my reservations).

Being a vanessa player, what i find frustrating is the pushback on kage's DM attack. Blocked /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > evade attack is not punishable.

But, you know, there are also other types of evade attacks, like the sommersault ones that shun and eileen have, they can get pretty invincible to throws online too. Then there's Lion's which is special high and not punishable by design. Lei Fei's DM attack which essentially gives him the initiative on hit or block. There's also akira's which avoids circular mids during some of its execution frames. And there's Lau's DM attack which nobody complains about. Yet.

I feel that DM attacks are varied by design. And I am afraid that tonyfamilia will hate me for this but i'm part of the minority that agrees with HotD: i don't think lag has anything in particular to do with them being overpowered. Or not. At least no more than, say, spamming low punch > shoryuken/dblpalm/screw hook/hopkick/shldrm/hoping monkey shoulder ram -- on hit or on block /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

 

Actually, I use Goh... But, you are correct he doesn't have the best answer to Wolf's DMP+K. The reason I mention Wolf's specifically is the way it eats attacks; you can't attack his evade throw, you have to duck or try some type of move that doesn't clash (or risk trying to throw it outright before he grabs you but the timing is tight). If he actually dodges your move with it, you're going to have to break 4 or 6 depending which side they dodge to.

But I have seen it coming and tried to attack it but that isn't the way to deal with it. I think the best way I have found with Goh is to duck under it and immediately go for my 270 throws to teach them a lesson, you gotta be fast because he can abare out if you're a moment too late.

I don't care that much but it's silly to spam it as a replacement for Wolf's throws, you're just hurting yourself. Why throw with DMP+K for 40 dmg when you can do a different throw for 70+ dmg??? It's devastating when you don't expect it though. Last night, this guy would DMP+K with Wolf and I would duck and he'd literally just do it again right away... It's just a butt play-style IMHO...

DM P+K can't be ducked and punished but it can be blocked and punished. Have you tried punch, kick? Not only that, it can be entirely negated with throws and CIRCULAR attacks!!! True sometimes it clashes with throws(yes I've seen it happen offline) but that can be said with just about any other attack. No, I've said it before so let me say it AGAIN: EVERY freakin move gets a boost online in medium to heavy lag. Even a simple down punch gets a boost so honestly, your argument is pretty much irrelevant.

Look, I don't spam DM P+K. You don't block it and punish me for it...otherwise you wouldn't be bitching about it. Almost every time I've used it on you, you got hit by it or failed to punish me for it...that's why you're angry. NOT b/c I've spammed it or whatever reason you've come up with... heck you even told me that I use DM P+K very effectively before so why all of a sudden are you bitching to me about it now? WOW, last time I checked we usually have 3 to 4 bars when we join each other's matches. I've even been able to punish DM P+K at 1 to 2 bars of lag...you just gotta react faster that's all...against punishing any move, not just DM P+K(although not all the time b/c lag can make it very hard). We're both on the East Coast and last I checked, you never even mentioned anything about the lag in our matches...only DM P+K. Hah, you're kidding right? You mean wins against you or wins in general? Well first of all I don't mean to gloat but I've played against you without using DM P+K and the result was just about the same; I got the better of it. I bet even you were surprised. I've proven to you that I can beat you without using DM P+K so don't give me that bullshit.

As for wins in general, I don't really care at all b/c I play anyone, from kyus to Vindicators...plus me, my older and younger brother all play on the same online account so that factors into the equation as well(eventhough they lost ALOT more than they won GRRR LOL). I can beat both of them but then again, they don't play very much so I can tell you that I've contributed a lot more to my win ratio than they did. If anything, I'd have less losses if I had my own account! Also, I'm not the one trying to talk tough...I'm just talking the truth. Now SDS Overfiend, he's the guy that likes to talk tough...not me. I don't know who you're trying to convince about me being "two-face" (lulz) or whatever but most people here have played me and/or know me to be a scrubby player who doesn't spam shit and is far from anything that you've described. I tried to be nice to you but the last time we played I was trying to bait some movement or some failed evade, something at long distance and you did DMP+K while I was crazy far from you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif so then I go to move in and you did another one! O_O, I blocked it went to throw and you did another one! Well, when I saw my throw clash with your 3rd DMP+K in a row I said "alright, it's time to go".
