Bad Games Thread

Yeah we've played against each other many times...I win most of them but he's getting better. He actually plays much better offline...I guess he just isn't used to online b/c people have so many different styles and characters that they use. He lives w/ roommates and they have an xbox360 too but his friend doesn't let him play on it sometimes lol.

 

OMFG im never gonna get past master again.

 

dont worry cozby i will rank down to 10th dan soon, we can duke it out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif or i will get air jacky acct up to 10th dan either way we got some fun battles coming up. GO THE BALLS!!!

 

hahaha its not that bad... its kinda cool just being able to mess around, playing alts and what not.

 

Yo KingofCarnage, I'm starting to think that one-sided lag B.S. is true after all. Case in point: Lion player by the 'tag of kroww73 plays me in Player's match. I'm basically dealing with a almost 2 second imput delay but this dude wails on me like it's real-time combat. I'm spending more time in the match trying to figure out how in the blue hell he can do ANYTHING properly in that kind of lag. I could be wrong though. Panther out!

 

I've said it again but i fervently believe that VF5 lag is assymetric. One time i was playing a friend of mine, talking through his headset, i could *hear* him pressing buttons and *then* the moves would come out, we're talking about almost 1 sec delay.

 

bad job to vf5 rank system. So about 2 weeks ago i finally got to master rank. Then xy90080980xy or something like that joined. a fellow master, and i won 6 straight. I then beat 4 10th dans, but of course 2 of them pulled at the last. Then i beat a defender. Then i lost to a 10 dan and lost my master rank. Of course i go back to 10th dan. So originally when i beat the first master to promote, i was 2 wins or so from naturally ranking up by beating 8,9,and 10th dans. But when i go back to 10th my rank bar is right in the middle. Ok, annoying, but ok. Then i lose a couple. The intensity is gone a little cause i see the artificail glass ceiling. So my rank bars is ony about 35% full when i beat another master and rank up. Play a few and end up losing my rank to the master, and NOW IT REMEMBERS WHERE MY RANK BAR IS. This is really lame!!!!!!! So really if a 10 dan and master player each other and take turns trading master rank but both take turns winning 2 or 3 matches before trading rank, they are just destroying rank bar. Where is it going? It is just disappearing.
Seriously, how semi-broke is the rank system? Too bad it doesn't just continue to rank as usual after 10th dan. There is no reason for players like cozby to struggle to get passed master rank, when he is probably defender rank with at least 3 characters!!!! maybe more, and stronger than defender with lei fei for sure. It's just nonsense. Why can't a master rank u versus other masters. Why is my 6 game win streak vs masters meaningless? Anyhow, that's my rant. It distorts the power of rankings.

If it's the same master each time, the bar stops moving up as much as a precaution to discourage people from trying to artificially inflate their ranking IIRC.

It will continue as usual after you rank up from master. 10dan/master and ranking up from master (only 10dans count) is a special case. Although I admit this system felt much more exciting before I learned more of the wonderful world of VF online. Also afaik it is identical to the rank system in Japan arcades. It just doesnt work as well in online I feel.

Don't put any worry into whether you're past master or not. If you're a good player, then you're a good player, and people would know this. I don't think that your online rank would determine if someone thinks you are a strong player or not. You would become a better player if you didn't let something like this effect you to the point of ranting.

example: Templario is past it isn't he? But people say he's not very good and he drops. So your rank doesn't determine shit.

Back on topic, bad games to me for not playing online since the London gathering. I guess offline has spoiled me.

 

I had a buddy back in my 95 days that claimed he reached the bottom & there were a bunch of swimsuit babes down there. Only recently have I figured it doesn't make any sense.

 

There is no bottom, it just loops back to the start.

 

Bad game to MY MOTHER! Yes I was playing, when she, at the last round, came up to me at the least happy way and grounded my VF addiction for the day. You could say she pulled MY cable.

But then again, I was moving house, so I could see the point.

 

Bad games to AfricanMadman and bdoubleblade. Both of them bailed on me when they were about to lose. And then AfricanMadman had the nerve to tell me that he bailed because I throw. I responded with: and? then break the throw. are you gonna bail everytime someone throws you? it's part of the game. learn to deal with it.

 

lol! he did the same thing to me last time i played him. his motto says 'i don't like throws' or something. as soon as i threw him he jumped out of the ring. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

 

Honestly, I can't even believe the dude still bothers playing... He's been at it for about a year now and he's still the scrubbiest n00b of all time. Just goes to show, practice alone won't make you a good player. If you just keep practicing "sucking at VF" then that's pretty much what you get out of it. If he came here and asked questions or read up on the game system, he might have improved by now, but he seems to have no problem being considered the worst scrub online for about a year straight. (Except for Darth Minion, but it's so close, it's just too hard to call...)
