Of course that's cool, that shit is great. But, would you believe me if I told you that some people have even given me hate messages for doing just that?

    Just saying.

Some people even take ggs as a slight at them. It's weird man, im not even joking.

Yah, I'll believe it, but I think the point that Tony and I are making is that those people are irrelevant. Ignore them, they've got nothing to add to your game, or your sportsmanship.

Slide is a cool dude. He's had nothing but helpful advice. i am sure some lose to him and get offended if he throws some friendly advice thier way. i'll say his point is valid upto a certain point (redundant i know). If someone says "you fucking suck" there reallly is no way to take that except they are an idiot. opinions out the window.

On that note, bad games to

T shirt. 15% win percentage 1st dan Jeffrey. He pulls on me in rd 3 and send me a pm saying "hahahaha". Then sends me a pm telling me how much VF sucks and how great DOA is. Block communication is what he got.

I'll second that. T-shirt is a dongbone and we shared the following exchange:

    I beat him.

    <tshirt> Ur Brad looks gay

<response> zomg you lost to a gay guy!!! Brad's balls your chin

<tshirt> you have a messed up mind fuckhead

<response> Bwaha, no, I'm just not a 13 year old homophobe who can't play VF and resorts to insults instead. Blocked.

    [block communication]

    TFam, SLide, SMB,

Basically, we know what we are signing up for when we get an XBL account. Anyone can message us with any sentiment they want. Any profound knowledge of how people SHOULD act does nothing to dictate how lots of people WILL act.

I can only control my own actions, so I will either stop using XBL, or accept/ignore the BS that comes along with it. Those are my only 2 choices for not getting upset. If I do anything else, I am at fault for my own unhappiness. This applies to lag, idiots, expenses, and everything else that I know is part of the deal when I play VF on XBL.

In my philosophy, the same protection that empowers the weak to act tough on the internet is what truly makes it harmless. It's just a bunch of electronic text that I can turn my head from and be completely safe from. Some 17-year-old punk gets a VFDC account and starts cursing me out, and it's really only funny and sad, and nothing to stress over.

I think I have only gotten upset once ever from a VFDC post or XBL message, and was my choice to allow it to bother me and act accordingly. It was completely unrelated to VF, as it would have to be to be important enough to get upset over.

It becomes clear, over a short period, whom to associate with and whom to ignore, and the good news is that there are many people worth talking to, thus this post to you guys. For the rest, stupidity is its own punishment. There's no need for me to attack them.

I'm with you on the whole taking responsibility for your own response.
I got this from a book and it has stayed with me for years:
"Response-ability: the ability to choose a response."
It's your fault if you give your power away, not the person being an idiot.
Of course, I'm not right for allowing whoever to get me heated but it's really frustrating to have somebody think that there is nothing wrong with what they said.

Slide, I'm trying to understand exactly where you stand. Are you saying that it's perfectly fine that after a session somebody tells their opponent that he is "boring" and that they "could've beaten you with just one move"?
That it's just a matter of "personality" that somebody would take that the "wrong" way??
Are you saying that it really doesn't matter what you say since somebody can just take anything you say negatively anyway so why even bother using tact???
Are you saying that there's not much you can do about the way that "it comes out" and that "tact" is subjective? Are you serious?

You seem to imply that maybe due to my pre-conceived ideas of this "p.w.i." being cool, that I was let down.
    No.
So what you say or do doesn't really matter, is that it?
Kinda sounds like a guy that use to be on vfdc, Emx.
Btw, that kinda thinking got that guy put in a really bad place and I don't mean banned.

All of this "being online" and "body language" is b.s.
If me and this guy had been playing offline, and after playing a few he handed me a slice of pizza and a beer then he smiled and said in the nicest tone:
"Tony, you are boring to play. I could have beaten you with just one move." /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Guess what? It's still FUCKED UP.
There's no "subjective" or "gray area" with this.

Only two kinds of people can NOT see how this is fundamentally wrong:
#1. A person too proud to admit that it's wrong to just blurt out whatever the hell you wanna say without any kind of tact.
    AND
#2. A person with no sense.

Then of course, there's the variable, a person so proud that they rather say they don't have any sense than to admit that saying whatever/whenever/however is NOT the way that two strangers should act towards one another.

Konjou used to say those things to me before. I didn't get mad however it just made me want to get better so I can beat the old man. Remember folks criticism is the only way to get better in fighthing games its a rule of thumb

Practice is good too lol but I dunno man I see people with 10,000 games plus with the same skill lvl they started when they was at 100..its more then meaningless practice. Mentally plays a strong role at how far you will progress

I think I have to agree with this! Where are all these kickass VF players that can't be stopped 'cause everyone else is a noob? I'm hosting all the damned time and I end up playing the same 20 or so people day in and day out... XD

I don't have a working 360 at the moment or I'd seek you out (you know I will, too). I get the thing back and a connection (more than just half-decent) and I'll be back in the hunt. It's all I can do to just patiently wait and try not to lose my damn mind. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

a file a complaint for him cheating please. I hate it when he joins my matches. As i'm a 9th dan who is probably 7 or 8th strenght and simply staving off demotion, it is always a huge letdown when this guy joins my match. Oh great, either i'm gonna lose or he will pull, or i have to take the fuckin time to pull b4 the match and reload everything. Big pain in the ass and waste of time.

bad games to vf5395 yes,me why? inconsistency, bad habits, lack of offensive pressure, too much guarding and reacting after block with poorly executed moves, no confidence and the list goes on

Heh bad games to me, I officially stink at this game. Not even in a joking way. SCIV
has destroyed my ability to think logically. Oh well I'll be back with VF5R.

bad games to gorilla700 or something like that. He's another these guys who will join ur match 6-7 times in a row and spam 2 moves (shun sliding uppercut and 2p) then pull at the end of final round and send u a mssg. Wow. Where do these people come from. My new thing is until i can officially really avoid people. All pullers will get a double complaint whammy--cheating and tampering. The true injustice being i'm sure microsoft will ban me for making complaints and leave the pullers be. I also love how u can submit a reason to avoid, and then u can't see why an opponent has a bad rep. Nice touch.
