I will say that for a "psychologist" to think that an internet community would be above it all did strike me as a little...we'll say bizarre. Why would anyone think that?

Dear Necro,

A lot of people have had their feelings hurt by putting too much faith in the VFDC community. Most people here are pretty nice but they will certainly flame you if they feel like it. Don't get your hopes up that a bunch of people you've never really met, other than on a website, are going to be these beautiful, kind human beings, that's irrational.

Don't hold a bunch of people on an internet site to some arbitrarily high standard you wouldn't even try to hold most others to, just because they enjoy the same video game as you do...

You're not the first person to get jumped on here and get their feelings hurt and I'm 99.9% sure you won't be the last. Don't let it get to you...

I've noticed a lot of people on my friends list who play VF are playing this game now.

I tried the demo and it was cool!! I'll probably pick up the game today if I can find.

Is there online play? If so, I wouldn't mind playing you a couple of times Gerns.

 

Yes, it's a really great strategy game. A lot of thought and depth to the game. Every civilization has very cool abilities. There is also a few different types of multi player modes... I haven't played online yet because I'm not confident in my skills yet but I will soon. I think anyone who likes strategy games at all will love this game.

 

US playstyles vs their Japanese counterparts. (Generally speaking of course)

I have to say after actually taking the time to watch some jap vids the
US players tend to rely on crutches so much its pretty sad. Granted I
don't expect the general XBOX Live population to be all top tier or
anything playstyle wise but imo these are sloppiest played characters
in the united states.

4. Pai - so many of these if you block most of their moves they start
to pray that they can get you with that chop charge kick/2kk. Every single
one of them seem to always go for jab throw even on block.

3. Jacky - BEAT KNUCKLE must be the only move in Jackys arsenal up through
Master, that and DM+P+K.

2. Lei - he belongs here BUT only because of the noob factor. In general I'd say
there's a lot of Leis actually mixing thing up and not relying gimmicks.

1. Wolf - DM+P+K all that needs to be said.

Anyway I'm a little toasty and just wanted some thoughts. I stepped away from
VF for a sec after learning how to play Lei and it just seems that a lot of people
aren't "growing" especially on the online community.

 

Sad part is i'll whup you ass with that same beat knuckle SMDH!!

On second though You can't be serious? Do you plan on Playing in every VF5 in existence? Maybe some people play to just have fun.
No disrespect But Fuck the whole Japanese playstyle to an extent.Yeah some are good but you don't have to be Japanese to be Good in VF period.I'm Tired of all the Ass kissing that goes on in here about being good because you playing or Mimicking the japanese playstyle.If you wanna have fun and play a Good VF game online without all the bullshit come holla at the God. You see My gamertag. Atleast i'll tell you "good shit" when you win a round without saying you won because of Blah,Blah,Blah.


BTW I laugh at all of you so called Vets that get mad when you get your ass handed to you by a so Called "Noob" whose playing to have fun because you keep "Box stepping" or "Crouch dashing" into his spammed attacks.

 

Everytime I read one of your posts, it always seems to come off like you think you're better than everyone else, with you also making big assumptions and claims. You appear so angry, I don't even know why you post or even play the game, cause it doesn't even look like you have fun but just pissed off.

 

i dont think people get mad at the spamming attacks as much as they just get plain annoyed. if your playing for a while online and the matches are laggy ,boring-for whatever reason and finally you get a game thats good and if your opp starts losing then all of a sudden they start doing the same combo in succession its frustrating. who wants to be bothered if there new to the game its somewhat understandable thats the only 1 or 2 combos they know but if your a "VET" its unacceptable

 

I might be kinda new, but i dont think being from japan has any relation to VF skill. I think its just because your watching the best of the best in the world and in those games if you spam a move you get punished very very quickly. On xbox live this isnt the case therefore people will spam a move if you let them

I have noticed people online relying on gimmicks like you said. There are people online who do not learn or grow at all, hence the people who have 4k games and are still 1-5th dans

 

No thats how you wanna take/make it Slide. Maybe if you ever played against me with you headset on you probably know that imone of the coolest people up here. I played you once and you tried to be funny with your sarah and left after one battle. Maybe you don't read my post too much or you read only what you want to but i could care less. As far as me sounding like im better than everybody else Puhlease. I respect everbody up here and never have to say im better than anybody cause if that was the case i would try to prove it in the ring.Don't get me wrong i may not be able to beat everybody but i never hurts to try or keep up with the best.

You have a point Mlp but if a opponent has a bad connection you have the right to leave before it even get to the point where its become boring.Also If you limited an opponent to repeating the same combo over and over thats a "Vet" i would'nt be frustrated i would happy that i limited his options and took away what was probably is biggest strengthssince i manage to punish him for it.

What's a SMDH? People know I don't type shit after a match. The most you'll get
out of me win or lose is gg and THAT'S a rareity. I think I said thx to Slide once.
As far as the Japanese style I dig it; nothing wrong with that. If you can beat
decent hardcore japs that's cool too. Believe me I'm not a Japanese fan type of
person. No manga, no jap movies, or anything like that in my possesion. As far
as VF is concerned I dig their style for the most part.

AS far as handing props goes i give proper for damn near everything and that my nature. You win a close round i have a habit i say "Good shit" to my opponent. I don't know if its me but sometime i cold feel the Frustration and agressiveness from my opponents without a mic (Win 2 games in a row against Denkai and you swear he'd transformed on that couch,His agressiveness shattered the Screen on my power indicator lol!).

I see you there Bro don't worry I'll have the "My Name is" Overfiend Tag on. As far as Tearing you up goes it won't be that easy. You's a dangerous Mothafuker with Sarah and i won't take you lightly.
