    Work on:

Evades--takes awhile to do this comfortably, practice against botht quest and live players. I recommend playing quest on the really easy arcades and not doing any offense that doesn't start off of an evade. It won't make you better at first, but then it'll start to click.

Throws--If you aren't going for at least 1 throw a round, you should. I struggle with that, when i'm playing well i'm throwing everyone all the time, when i'm struggling i'm doing a throw every few matches.

Max Damage--If you aren't finishing your combos with max damage then, stop! go to dojo! practice! Do it till you hit it nearly every time in Dojo. Its harder to do in a match, so now go and play quest until you are hitting it regularly in quest. Its harder to do in Ranked matches so that should be your final frontier. I recommend starting every session like this until you hit them like clockwork. And although this is the last one i listed its the first one i'd work on.

I would say those are the three most basic, it easier to improve your offense than your defense. After you've peaked with that start working on defensive tactics per some other suggestions.

    who do you use, btw?

Thanks mate, this is really helpful. I am using Akira, and I should spend more time in dojo and trying things out in Quest like you said. Its nice to meet new and stronger fighters online, and getting to know the people of this forum!

In that post I posted very postfully on the post board a few posts ago--- I numbered from 1-8 my basic classification of players in order of skill level from worst to best. I wasn't referring to Dans or specific ranks in this, only a basic classification of skills. (which is probably flawed) Just wanted to clear that up.

Anyway, I agree with Gernburg in the sense that there are LIGHT YEARS between like a 10th and 1st Dan. However, I do think that less experinced players can sometimes be harder to beat than people who are actually trying to do specific moves. (at a lower level)

Example: I think a 1st DAN learning Lei Fei who is actually trying to do specific set- ups and combos will be much easier to beat than a 8 KYU Lei Fei who is essentially mashing buttons (or at least spamming moves without regarding the consequences). It's weird because the 1st DAN is actually a better player, but the 1st DAn happens to do better moves by accident.

I'd still whoop both their asses either way though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

bad games to GBs Ferrigno. He is a Master rank that used an awful Wolf that spammed DM/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif over and over.

He was so bad that I sent a message saying how abysmal a player he is for a master rank - he replied saying it was his first time using Wolf (no excuse and how could a Master rank be such a spammer).

His main is Jacky and he reverted to him after I beat his appalling Wolf. His Jacky is almost as bad - he only abuses about 5 moves - beat knuckle, sway /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif cancels and again, DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. He beat my Goh twice using this trash and I chose Wolf to show him how to play as him. I absolutely obliterated him.

    Awful spam player - avoid.

You sound just like all the cats I remember from CVS2 and 3rd Strike on XBL that would bitch and moan when someone dropped on them. That's just XBL. That's why I could never give a shit what dan I'm in. What does it matter if someone can just leave the game and nullify the results for the game? Plus it seems there's other issues associated with people dropping. Just gotta move on and take online for what it is. Some shit to fuck around with.

EDIT: Oh and this thread isn't supposed to be about pullers? LOL.

So either you didn't understand the original post or you seem to think that a player ought to be penalized when their opponent drops. Which is it?

    Regards,

The thread has transformed into an all-purpose complaining thread - bad games AND pullers. That's cool to me because pullers need to be called out for sucking as human beings. SEGA really needed to fix the pulling thing. There is no way to justify punishing the guy who gets pulled on. Anyone who complains about this is totally justified.

I've played the Ferrigno guy also. He is terrible. I think his Master rank pretty much proves that I am correct when I bitch about how overpowered DMPK is.

Same here. I kicked his ass 3 straight times and he told me not to join anymore because he had no chance. So much for the idea of playing better players to help you learn more about the game...

And yes, I agree. His Shun is pathetic. Is he still 9th dan?

Jesus, African Madman is a terrible player. I don't think I've seen his Pai do anything other than /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ub.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Makes you wonder why players like this continue to get enjoyment from this game.

I didn't think THAT fool would be brought up again. Only reason I even mentioned the guy at the time was during my complete and utter shock of someone being in the game THAT long and having that lack-of-varietyitis. 'Course I can't say nothing since I don't have a huge arsenal of moves either. Speaking of experienced "Never-was's," There's this jabroni named Bibo No...something. Dude has a grand total of 11000 and something matches, I mean losses. Guys, I'd like to think I had just enough skill in the game NOT to end up like that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Bulletin Edit: Somebody PLEASE help these fools:

Youonceagain (Vanes): Have absolutely no IDEA how he got the rank he got but he about bored the hell outta me.

Salva1996 (ANOTHER Vanes): Same as above. I forget which fool backs away for most of the match (maybe it's just for fighting me) and tries to catch folks coming in. Does a piss poor job of doing so. Made him pay with three straight ring-outs in the first session and splattered him all over the wall in the second (no ring awareness whatsoever...DAMN!!!)

I might be getting the two mixed up...they both SUCK!
