Bad Games Thread

Isn't that how Lion is supposed to be played? IIRC when TexasLion or DaBadSeed are doing it nobody calls them out on it - i'm guessing it's because they tend to win If anything i find Boris too prudent for a Lion player who knows what he's doing

Nah, konjou was talking about -13, my guess is he was referring to Lion's and , both of which are quite delayable, enabling Lion players to mess with their opponent's head (and reflexes)

 

seems like I need to just keep my mouth shut as I have a hard time getting my point across without hurting some feelings.

I am quite aware the type of player Boris is... I have seen this guy grow and just continue to grow... I take all matches against him very seriously. But after our first match I could see that he was on auto pilot. He just attacked, attacked, attacked and attacked. Even when at major disadvantage I don't think he was even doing ETEG... I know he was do E into 44+k or 44+k+g a lot.

We all know how Lion is suppose to be played, but it's just amazing to me how people get punished over and over and they still continue with the madness. I wasn't DM*ing to be a prick. I was DM*ing to see how many it would take before he decide to go "hhhmm maybe I should use that thing called a guard button once in a while..."

I can't tell people how to play, but people can't expect me not to do the things I need to do to stop their madness. I had a small run in with this a while back with ToniFamilia who thought I didn't want to play with him because the un-Konjou like style I was using. You guys would be surprised how many times I have to refrain from playing a certain way that I am not known for because I know it will be looked down upon or found offensive.

Thankfully Toni is mature and we talked about it behind the scenes and now we have pretty damn good matches and made us better friends if you ask me. I think it even made him a better player because now the bastard is really starting to kick my ass... fucker!

I find BorisofWales too be mad abare. It works at first but, his patterns do get solidified after a few games. After a while it's just about
baiting him because he WILL attack.

Yeah sometimes it best not to play at all. But I know what you mean konjoh, if you start playing like that people get offended or think you are being a snob or something. Playing people who don't hit check, count there frames, or even change up there flow charts when it's been shot down 80% of the time kills your brain. It shuts you off, and you start to play the way you described. It bothers me because after when you play someone else it’s hard for you to get back into it and play for real.
But you’re better than me konjoh, I can't sit there and bother trying to show them what they are doing. I can't waist energy on someone who doesn't learn. It’s my major flaw.

 

That's the problem I run into. People can get hurt and take any and everything said the wrong way, about anything.

Yeah it's a no win situation sometimes, but Plague said it best. I just have to keep my opinions about other people's play style to myself. I guess offering advice is a kind of gray area also....

I gotta say, I left the VFDC community because of this...people always have something to bitch or complain about. OMG you use too much P+K+G! You throw too much! Quit stomping me!!! OMG THIS OMG THAT!!! I mean I sorta expect this from new players but I noticed most of the well experienced players are doing it as well. Ugh, soooo childish I swear.

 

Its true. Personally I can deal with such play well enough not have to resort to badmouthing. I recommend that to others. If I get angry, I get angry at myself for eating the shit or because of the connection quality. I dont hold it against people if they use scrubby tactics.

Sometimes Im tired IRL and I lose control.. Don't play fighting games when youre tired folks.

I think this thread was originally started to point out the pullers. It has evolved to something else more childish.

 

Who is the host?? In my opinion, you can complain if someone keep joining your session but you already reject the rematch. Otherwise, I don't think there's any reason to judge players' style. I did play with this Lion player but our connection wasn't stable enough. Both of us realized this point and he still sent ggs to me before. I believe you guys connection wasn't stable either, am I right?
Well, probably he sent something bad to you and make you feel upset Konjou, but my question is why you still keep playing with him? Just ignore and don't be serious to all the bad connection matches bro~~

btw, plague I haven't been playing VF5 much b/c I'm focusing on kof12 and waiting for its netcode patch. if that game falls through then expect me playing VF a little more often. BGs to me and SNK Playmore
