Now of course, he picks almost only Shun, since he does not need to defend with him

 

I think I've only seen his Shun. He used to use DMPK A LOT when we fought. I was going thru my own DM~attack phase so there was no way I could say I had a problem with that. And yeah, I usually only beat him when I get him to actually think about defending... otherwise I'm learning Shun's combo strings.

 

Doesn't Dragon Cannon floor scrape? I think having a launcher that launches him off his low kick or his other techcrouching moves probably helps a lot in the mathup Yupa /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Bad games to me.....I've just switched from a pad to a stick and just cannot pull off any bloody moves. I've gone from dominating a lot of matches to losing to practically everyone, much to darthminion and templario's rejoice - they now play me more than 3 rounds and love to rub it in. Has anyone else made the big move from pad to stick.....how long does it take to get competitive again?
Also, has anyone got any advice on how to hold the stick? Is there a specific way I should be holding it? I just can't seem to double tap diagonally left properly - which makes my akira practically useless.

oooh so that explains it. i played you recently and noticed you wern't really playing at the level you normally play.

when it comes to holding the stick id say just hold it whichever way feels comfortable for you. i hold it with my middle finger and ring finger resting on the top left side of the stick and my thumb on the right if that makes sense.

 

I would say it takes about 3 weeks to a month to get nice and comfortable. 6 weeks to 2 months to get "basically" just as good as u were. Maybe a little longer, but u have to consider that u are prolly getting worse from lack of practice at a high level, while u are getting use to the stick. And then i'd say it takes 3+ months until u become completely comforatble. My big thing was, even after the stick felt natural, it was a long time for it to be as comfortable as a joypad during crunchtime. Both one hit to death in the final round, and u'll be wishing u had the old cotroller for quite some time. But the joystick is better IMO, and worth it. Good luck.

BGs to myself. I played like a raccoon's nutsack. I think that is what happens when I'm playing virtua fighter when I need to be doing work i.e. I know I'm procrastinating and need to do work and therefore cannot fully concentrate.
