Bad Games Thread

I think that VF5 lends itself to more annoying styles. Using VF3 as an example, there really were a lot less ways to beat your betters. Maybe distance Kage and good guessing...

There was no equivalent to, for example, a keep away Vane who mixes up her long range attacks, and when you finally close the distance, uses 2p or DMPK or the tranny elbow sebaki.

I love the graphics and online, but there are some things in VF 5 that have totally moved in an abusable direction compared to VF4 and Vf3 (I never played 2).

But then, I guess that is what the Bad Games thread is for.

 

What's sad is that if the Lei Fei player delays his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for just a tiny bit the evade will fail, the move will connect and the guessing game can be reset. But 99% of xbox live Lei Fei players (templario being one of them) don't delay moves. They just don't. It's like the controller called them names or something and they have to punish it by smashing the buttons the hardest and fastest they can. They are certainly not fighting me, that's for sure. There is no interaction. They just do the Lei Fei, on hit or block or whiff. It doesn't matter where i am or what i'm doing. It's like playing solitaire with a buddy. Sometimes i'd be at the other side of the screen and they'll go wild /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif HELLO i'm over here!

That's what sad about the average xbox live Lei Fei player. What's sad about the game is that this intended to be a working strategy. It's no accident, his moves were designed to have awesompe properties. It's like a big "fuck you" to the rest of the cast. Lei Fei is one of the few characters i have taken up to doing 2 consecutive evades against specific strings, the most notable offender being /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. It's like 11 am train, you know the spam is coming, sure it might take a little longer if there are cows on the railroad track or the indians have captured the supply depot or utah delcared independence or whatever, but sooner or later it will show up.

The saddest part in White_Worm's post is not Lei Fei specific though: sending hate mail when losing? That's poor sportsmanship right there /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I think thats what I'm going to picture in my head from now on when facing a scrubby Lei. Just some dude rolling around on the floor fighting with his pad. lol

He said that Pai was his best character though. I wonder why that is? Perhaps her abundance of dodgy full-circular attacks? But the bitch wouldnt even face me with her. I told him "My Vane vs your Pai, lets go", so he picks Lei. His final message to me was to "remind" me that I had beaten his Lei, NOT his Pai.

Yea, like I can't beat his Pai or something? Whatever. He's one of those frustrations on xbox live that almost makes me want to sue Microsoft for my membership fees back, sighting "pain, suffering, and boredom".

I always play real short sessions vs. Templario. He always plays till he wins then leaves. His style is real annoying but whatever, I will play against him when there's not a lot of people online. But then he never stays...

Why, if you like VF, would leave that quickly, unless you are totally getting destroyed or something? He is a Mexican douche.

I also played Jons Up again. Same shit. His keep away + DMPK is real tough for my Jeff. My Lau owns him though. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. He is such an asshole. I always do dmpk over and over after rounds to mock him, but it does not dissuade him from the spamming.

I know that it may seem strange to make conclusions based on the way someone play a videogame, but I am certain that Jons Up is a friendless virgin.

Shakal81 kicking my ass... I don't know why he gets bad game reviews... he's an abare monster with Shun, but he doesn't repeat the same moves over and over vs. me. He has a good nitaku mix-up IMO. Actually didn't use DMPK more than a handful of times... almost like he's trying not to use it on purpose.

I should be able to take advantage of the fact that he substitutes Shun's mule kick where most people would low punch, but it didn't work out that way /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

 

I'll tell you what: Mule kick wouldn't be as big a deal but I'll swear to this DAY that the damn move has invincibility frames. It's actually easy to defend and punish when it happens but it's just I'm either too lazy or just damn tired of having to constantly defend it 'cause even if I use ANY attack close enough to be past the dude's grill I'll still get hit regardless -_-

 

He's an Abare Monster with him and because of this i learned a lot about dealing with shun. Me and him had a Lengthy Shun Battle that was the most fun. After about 8 matches i learned his pattern but he still gave me problems. He was'nt a bad player personality wise either.He Thought My defense was outstanding (I disagree.) and said he hard a hardtime breaking thru. I learn his throw timing and teched about 4 in a row one time. He's now on my friendlist because i enjoy his style of play.

 

He's probably used to mowing down most people once he gets the advantage. Any resistance would be "good" defense. You gotta know Shun's combo strings and when you get the advantage back to stop him. I break his dances with punches maybe 1/3 of the time... but he destroys me with command throws.

He's on my friends list too, I think since the first time I've fought him... and he usually challenges me when he sees I'm on line. I used to have more success against him, but his okizeme has improved.

 

Yeah he Sent me a Friend request and he seem like a very Cool dude so i accepted. The Sad part was i was letting him drink to his heart content so i can see more of a "Drunken shun".
