If your sick of both, how are you going to survive for 10 years? The answer is go to Japan and play R there because there ain't be no R on the console until you witness your grandchildren born.

Didn't think I would be posting in here after SFIV arrived, but bad games to TemptingAtusi, an Akira player from Japan who was a Veteran while I'm a Hunter. Not only do our games lag, but he abuses 66P+KP and 3P+K, which is painful in lag. After losing 3-4 games, I'm about to win 3-0 and he disconnects. Rather disappointing, given there's almost no one else online in Ranked, let alone at this rank. If there was anyone else to play, I probably wouldn't have bothered playing so much with him. Disappointing to lose bar without being able to gain it back, but even more disappointing to see someone who cares about it so much.

Only in laggy matches, but it works REALLY well against AddyPaddydingDong when he tries to DMPK 8 times in a row! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Yep, this tard likes to pull. It's rare to find Japanese pullers. I have a lovely story about this guy. I played him the other day and about 1 frame after I KO'd him he pulled. Guess what... TOO LATE BUDDY!!! I already got my rank points!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

    =D

ggs/bgs to tadatoshi . He was hands down the most dominant player i've ever played (Kage). BUT. W/lag i could not evade a 2p at adv/disadv/neutral. While wanting to be good at the game playing someone as OP as he was in our set, i realize if i have to use 2p and jab like he does to play at that level then i would rather just put my joystick down and walk away. It is discouraging. I'm beginning to wonder: is the highest level of play a jab/turtle and never do a move that leaves u past neutral disadvantage? Hey,if you want a challenge you should definitely go out of your way to play him...or avoid him.

hehe sadly in my opinion game play is just as you described it when your fighting a high level match. It's all about just using moves that leave you at small disadvantage for the fuzzy/turtle game.... Well unless you have a abare character like Shun, Lei, Brad. It can make for some dull matches, but unfortunately it's either you adjust to it or put your joystick on the shelf and retire.

Well I'm not ready to retired, so like many even I have to adjust my game now if I want to compete some of the better players.

Does anyone have any idea how hard it is to unlearn a habit? It's killing me trying to step out of my comfort zone.

Step one: be OK with losing the match while trying to fix the problem.

Step two: Make it a priority to do something ELSE at the last possible second. Say I'm going for a shoulder (since it's now one of my favorite moves), I'll stop myself and throw instead.

Step three: play the safe game for a while and be deliberate with every small disadvantage attack. P, DE, DE, 2p, DE, throw. I make myself aware of what I am doing. I try to hit check EVERYTHING.

Gonna be doing that myself tonight and tomorrow when people come over.

Thanks Plague! It's a really F(*%#(*#@ hard task. The hardest part will be hit checking and not doing the norm like you mentioned.

thanks for the feedback. Lol, i think most people know how hard it is to unlearn a habit. Kage is deceptive if u don't know his data, what with all his cartwheels and flips with deceptively slight disadvante. I probably just need to learn more frame data, and not play people that are separated from me by an ocean.
To be fair though, i don't complain too loudly when a subtle lag is beasting all my moves against my opponent. If i don't like it i can find someone else to play. Or practice vf5 and put away SF4.
Good luck on hitchecking everything plague. That sounds great...you know...until u get in the middle of an intense battel. Unless of course it is an intense turtling match, but then, how intense can that be.
