It's all good Slide. I'd like to play whenever you have time. Let me know when; no hard feelings here at all.

The only reason I ever spam DMPK as Kage is because it's generally the only thing not affected by lag. I always get opponents who just spam PPK and reversals are impossible to pull on them. Even if I know it's coming. The only thing I can do to escape from these situations is input DMPK and hope the connection reads the timing correctly. Otherwise, Im stuck in an endless cycle because I have no other way of avoiding the spammage.

I also hate when I get failed inputs or attacks that should be guaranteed and instead completely whiff. For whatever reason, 46P+K always performs 6P+K online, or sometimes it will really screw me over and just do P+K. I've never had this happen to me when playing offline though.

This is fighting games, "fun" has nothing to do with it. If both players know how to deal with the BS you won't see those kind of things.

If the Akira player had not fallen for going after Kage when he moved to edge of the ring AND punished all the punishable moves that came his way AND done proper combos doing so he could've won.

Of course, this was an online match so I can't guarantee it since online is retarded.

Not really. It's like any sport. Sure, sport is fun, but having to jog and do conditioning excercises isn't. Practicing basics over and over isn't always fun. But you do it to be better at your sport.

What you're doing is setting up barriers and rules on how the game is played and effectively is pretending to be on a higher level then you are. If you play to win you will learn what really works and what doesn't. If spamming the same move over and over works and will give you the win, then do it. DO IT! It will show your opponent he HAS to learn to deal with this, when he eventually does he will be a better player and that will in turn make you a better player.

If you play with made up rules on how VF should be played you're just hurting yourself in the long run.

Same here, but I only got one round. He tried to fight during the first round, didn't get a hit in, then leapt out of the ring for the other two. Apparently, "lei = cheap fag". Ha.

That's a good analogy Jeneric. I think you made your point well. I guess I just draw the line at some stuff cause Im playing online and I want to be fair... I dont even know why but I just do. But, just to give an example, the way you can use Akuma in HD Remix isn't cool. It's not really even fair. Thats where I draw the line.

R.O. tactics are legit in my book. Please just freaking BALANCE the counterability for characters moves. Everyone knows what needs to be done, but it will never happen. Seems the direction of vf is getting further away from a well balanced game and leaning more toward a different audience.

My 2 cents and a bag of chips...

    I only played Pl4yer 7 once.

    Jacky(me) vs Brad (him)

I won a round and he jumped out afterwards.

He said his friend invited him to play, I have no reason to believe otherwise and he seemed pretty friendly in the message he sent me afterwards.

first, awesome avatar seidon, that is nice.

Now i'm about to blow up the bad games thread for a second.
Matdol. Bitchmove to u punk. I play this guy ranked for about 17 matches, i win about 70% and take his 10th dan rank early. I was impressed he stuck around as long (join my matches over and over). I should have been beating him more handedly but i have a little confidence issue with an iffy joystick that may or my not work properly at any given time. Then it is a promotion match for (to master by rank bar, not beating master) and the little punk pulls after i win!! What? WTF difference should it make to him if i rank up to master or not. Just bitch move all the way around.
Then kamanariOyaji got ggs for the games, but bad games for the mssgs. First, after a set heavily skewed in my favor, i get no ggs but i do get a mssg that reads "safe-rinse-repeat". Which is awesome, because now the book on me is "safe-rinse-repeat"/constantly-abare. However the hell that works. Then he sends "lei is broke, play sarah lol. Your not fooling me with your consistant hiding behind sabakis". I was not trying to fool anyone. I was reading the patterns hard and was stuffing the attacks i knew would come. Simple as that. To be harsh, i'm not going to apologize for winning. I might sometimes feel bad, but no apologies.
I remember Cozby getting the lei is broke talk, before coming strong with half the characters on the game.
My bro was getting a lot of this lei is broke talk and peeps wanting to say that was all there was. He took pai and in 3 weeks took her from scratch to defender.
Say what u want about lei, but...If i had put this much time into any character i would be a comparatively strong player. End of story. That's it.
I mean it is no coincidence that dabadseeds' lion, goh, and aoi are "broke". Someone around here has a "broke" goh, and a "broke" jacky, and several "broke" shuns. I've seen "broke" akiras and "broke" lau's, definitely "broke" brads, and even "broke" sarah's. Point being, from now on i'm taking "broke" as a feather in the cap, and throw it at me if you are wanting to give me HUGE compliment.

What does this even prove when most players don't even play ranked or even care about ranked anymore? The drive has been long gone there.

Also, Lei Fei is pretty messed up, imo. Game is still good though.

Just so you know, being strong isn't just win/lose, imo it's also how you do against a large variety and wide range of assorted players and styles. Can't win them all, can't lose them all. You can sit there and beat someone 20 in a row, what does that shit even prove if your opponent has no clue about the moves you're doing? Does that make you a strong player? Absolutely not.

And imo, Lei Fei has "magic days."

I don't use the dude though, and can't(playing style doesnt fit), and won't, for that matter(lol cause I don't really like him that's all).

I read in the ggs thread your posts about you falling for opponents "P throw" all the time. That is one of the games most basic things, and if you're having an issue with that, then that could be saying alot of things, like the character you're using and how it allowed you access to many wins without even being able to get past one of the game's most basic hurdles. How you can get to this point and not even have to fuzzy guard. This goes back to basics man, yes P throw is easy and basic, it can be scary too, but avoiding it is also a basic thing too.

And, also this isn't a flame or an attack on you man, please don't take this the wrong way. Say what you want about the matches we may or may not have had in the past, etc. I'm also not personally even claiming to be a strong player. I'm simply posting saying I don't agree with some of the things you're saying here.

P throw online is actually broken since most of the time you can't crouch or CD after the P (whereas you could easily offline). I noticed that, so when I'm against P throw happy opponents I just try to TE or abare their face.

Don't play those opponents anymore, they should get their connection checked, or you should yours, or play opponents closer or on your coast. Against the opponents I've played regularly I don't have this issue. And if there were issues, the games were just laughed off by both parties.

On my coast? But we are like ten players in whole France... haha
I don't have connection Issues btw, or rarely with europe dudes
I may have tried to fuzzy after an unfuzzyable ch P like a retard tho, that could have fooled my scrub vision of the thing.

I fuzzied/crouch fuzzied/non clash punished many throws. Mostly, i always like to try and put some kind of positive feedback in any gg i post. People enjoy reading what you thought they did well. If my opponent is making it a priority to p throw, then i will generally give them some sort of positive feedback. And everyone get caught in punch throw. I have never played an opponent i cannot p throw. Never.
And i do think there are certain characters that u almost have to have some insight to handle some setups. i.e. Lei fei, sarah's flamingo, shun, kage, etc. And as i've said on here numerous times, i am willing to help anyone who needs assistance fighting lei fei. There are very real ways to discourage him from switching stances and actually make all his wonderful sabaki's and stance changing a liability. No gaurd, u can't use adv defensive techniques in stances.

The problem I have with Lei is that he never seems to be at a disadvantage. I know I could remedy that with some time in the Dojo. However, I can never seem to bring myself to play as Lei for extended periods of time.

@Jeneric: I understand this play to win way of thinking, but well... Anyway.
Does fighting an abare Lei-Fei or Jacky masher has any interest ? I mean not even fun, but interest in something?
    No, it does not.
When I'm bored I kill em only with standing P/evade (not Jacky cause you get random pak sao'ed haha) or elbows. I'm not getting better, he neither, and the fight is crappy. Where's the fun, even if you win?

Playing this Kage guy is the same thing: you have to play worse than usually to beat him and his crappy tactic. You don't even up your game and assuming he uses this kind of strategy he prolly don't even want to be better.

I don't see the point in this games... This is the definition of an annoying/bad game, whoever is winning
