Where did I say the game is cheap? If I wanted a cheap fighting game, then I would be playing Mortal Kombat by now. I take criticism here and there, but I don't let bother me. I'll just end this by saying good games. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Exactly, that's what I meant. If someone is spamming moves, and you can't figure how to stop it, turtle. Make the fighter come to you. With random circular moves against a Lei Fei player he can't sabaki it. Turtling works very well for me when I get caught in a situation I can't figured out. People get REAL upset when you keep away form them. It becomes a game of patience and will.

You know that's not even what happened, why even make this up?

I dance and step around, sure, but me not attacking?

What really happened is you dropped on me.

Either way this isn't even that big of a deal, I could care less. A JACK ASS?

    I'll bee dat.

Bad games to all the people that don't offer very many matches especially when the matches are getting good and it could be learning experience for both sides.

Hey erdaug, my post wasn't necesarrily an answer to yours, just trying to give some theoretical advice for people to apply against lei fei. The crux of it is this: Have moves (usually there is one good move that works for most charactars) ready and on tap to deal with certain problematic situations that arise often.

Know that most of his lows are very punishable if guarded (#1 coz pointed out the ones that arent, and i think u kinda have to block them on yomi more than reflex, but we all get a decent feel for when opponents want to go low)

And lastly, my main point was in agreeing with you. Lei Fei is a bitch to defend against. Even if you know all his moves and all the properties of those moves, good luck winning if you want to sit back and play defense. I think the key to fighting a good lei fei is knowing which holes there are turn the momentum and get back on offense, thus forcing him to play defense, as most lei fei's, myself included, are at least slightly lacking in our defensive fundamentals, the monk just breeds that into you if you learn the game with him.

(by giving all this advice i am in no way trying to pretend like i am better than you or anyone else, just trying to shine a little light onto how to fight lei fei, as i know most people who don't use him think he is waaaaaaay impossible to stop, which is partly true. I feel the same way with brad /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Gernsburg, for lion the move that owns is that 2 handed foot stab dealio, don't know how much u use lion anymore, but when u get back to him, i'd recommend being ready to whip that sucker out any time lei fei goes back turned sabaki stance near you. When a lion player abuses that i go /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

    THIS! A hundred times this.

It's especially true for some of the so-called veterans on this site that they either quit before you have time to adapt, or that they rematch you only if you win.

I think he ran into Blaze right after he played me a lot of matches. I won't deny that I might have frustrated him a little with my akward Wolf. Even if I did, he took it like a man and never really came off as being offensive. I'd go as far as to say... GG's Trifling Fox!

Blahzie I'm not calling you a liar, but maybe you just caught one of his rare cases of frustration / mood swing, etc! Everyone is entitled to it from time to time. I know I get my man period every once in a while.

Man it's 7:36AM, I'm sipping great coffee and having lots of laughs reading this thread. VFDC for early morning breakfast 5 days a week is just absolutely fucking great. So to bring more hype to this thread let me add some BDs names of mines.

Badseed BDs to this fucking scrub because he has been dodging me for weeks. Last time I played this joker I was beating his ass and then he quits talking about "oh I can't play with all this lag because my girl using the computer!" pppffffttt whatever scrub! Stop dodging me punk! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

GentlemanThief BDs to this cheating fucker who has 270 throws on speed dial. I mean like WTF the shit seems to just magically come out from no where. I call a fucking foul! The guy is obviously cheating. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't make these unstoppable come backs all time. I mean come on, if a guy is pulling the win out of his ass with just 10pts of life left all the time he has to be cheating right? Right people? Right? I know y'all with me! So BD's to you Lucky for always kicking my ass.

Mista Tee I don't even know what I'm going to say about this stepping freak. Personally I think if anyone can make there character dance circles around you making your moves constantly whiff is doing something illegal. Is this guy using a special joystick with a stepping macro? I smell cheater all over this one.

KiminariOyaji Cheater! Cheater! Cheater! I know he is going to do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, but when ever I try to escape he is doing some internet shit and making my /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif button move. I mean come on I know it's coming so why can't I not escape. If he is changing the time then I think VF is broken and they should make throws at just one speed. Being able to delay and such should NOT be an option... SEGA u gay!

Phew! I finally feel better after getting that off my chest! This thread is golden and should never be locked!

I find that the people here on this site are happy to offer rematches especially if the match is getting good and they know it, I don't know about you though. I tend to have this issue with people I know don't post here normally.

Would you care to mention who these people are that post here that don't give rematches. I can't think of 1?

While your statement may have some truth to it, I don't think any decent / good player, veteran or not is going to stick around and play with someone who simply seems like they can't learn. I played a guy the other day who used Lion and was just spamming lows and middle kicks no matter what the situation. It dawned on me that he just doesn't get it that although this is a fighter and you are suppose to beat your opponent to a pulp you still have to know when it's your turn to attack or to defend. Seeing as he will not stop attacking I spent 2 rounds just doing elbow, elbow, elbow, elbow, elbow, elbow, elbow, elbow.... O_O FUCK he just wouldn't stop trying to spam out of the situation. Every hit was counter hit! Would you stick around for something like that? That's like me asking Justin Wong to play Marvel vs. Capcom for 1 hour and I know nothing about the game. I don't even know how to tag players in and out. What some players see as an opportunity to play with a veteran may not always be the same case for the veteran. I don't mind playing against anyone, but if you can't make me think outside the box and I can just beat your with 1 move while while sipping a drink and checking my email then I'm sorry to say it's a waste of my time. If players want the time of veterans or those other hardcore players then they should spend some time strengthening there basic skills, because those are the things that the veteran will most likely test during the long session. If your basics suck and all your doing is flashy stuff then I'll have to quote VF2 Wolf here... "Come back again.......... IN ABOUT A YEAR!"

I rather not write anything specific because I know I will get flamed for being a NOOBZOR.

But the people who fought me and lost one maybe, then went on to win 2, then quitted, know exactly what I am talking about.

So nowadays if I am hosting and a "pro" joins my games, I lose the first game on purpose so they can bugger off to chase whatever they are chasing.

    EDIT: beaten by Konjou

There is a difference in people that are bad that show the potential to learn and try to adjust even though they are being pummeled or the people that are just hopeless and make no effort to learn from their mistakes. The difference is easy to see in how they handle your game. That is why I always offer rematches to those that show the potential to learn and are trying to get better and if they don't then I leave them alone.

Whoever does that it sucks, but ah well just let them go away thinking they're awesome, even if it's you or me.

That happens to me too, some matches are close, and the other person doesn't want to rematch. They will rematch when they are closer to their next ranking though.

Nothing more annoying when people stop taking you seriously.

Or when someone looks like they spend more time practicing what they'll do when they win a round than how they'll win a round.

I'm not saying any names but these people know who they are.
