How about [4][6][P]+[K]? It is slow , but if u know he is going to the independent stance then try it. u will have the risk of getting interupted but High risk high return(combo+ okiseme game). Also the risk is the exe time not if he guard it. Becos even Lei guards this move it's not throw counterable.

u can always bait for his double jump kick.- guard it and throw...or theow his while his in the stance. Further more try to adjust ur distance so that only the tip of ur [2][K]+[G] will hit him. it's kinda out ranges his moves.

ya cancelling elbows is really great against experienced players who know guaranteed throw moves and stuff like that..but against your average gamer who doesn't go on VFDC and stuff like that guard cancelling just gets you punished. I always try and guard cancel now but my brother always seems to "expect" it or more so just keep tryin to attack so as soon as i cancel i get an attack right in my face. So as good as guard cancelling is in serious matches, when i'm just playing with people who dont really know the game it doesn't work at all, the best thing is YY stance and obviously pressuring them with lots of throws since they might not be too great at throw escapes. Also i just borrowed a VF4 stick from shang (thanks man) and i'm having some trouble adjusting. I can't really backwards crouch dash from 1P and just regular dashing sometimes, for that i'm kinda just using my thumb i guess any help would be great on how to hold/maneuver the stick, also her 270's are giving me a lot of trouble on the stick, she sometimes jumps and stuff just like i'm learning all over again on a pad!!!

I forgot to mention something, namely b/c your brother didn't use it... at least in the two clips I saw. Lei Fei's [2][3][6][P]+[K] is a favorite after a TR. If Aoi comes in w/ the elbows (which she often does) this will punish her. If you get new competition, don't be afraid to side kick when he's rising as they'll surely use this.

Also as stated, [4][6][P]+[K] is a nice, uncounterable move... just slow.

If you feel you're getting dodged a lot, you might want to try the above [4][6][P]+[K], [1][P], and [4][6][P][P]+[G]. All of them are slow enough, to where if you delay by a frame or so, their dodge will whiff (unless of course they're good enough to dodge when they see an attack - not anticipate one).

And finally, something I tried the other day that I'm not really sure on, so maybe Myke can test it out. [4][P] is a full crescent and is quick. This "beat" one of Lei's sabaki's... there's a good chance that the sabaki window just missed, but I'm not sure - it's worth looking into.

    Couple of other small notes:
After [P]+[G][6], [P][K] is guaranteed (free damage).
Another move I like that I've yet to mention in this thread, but did in another is [6][K]+[G][8][6][2][4][P]+[G].

I have posted this in other thread previously but I think it's useful so I will post it here again

For Aoi's YY stance evade throw escape:

When you go [8], always put [4]+[P]+[G]to escape the side throw

When you go [2], always put [6]+[P]+[G]to escape the side throw

In fact you can put in the [P]command after the throw escape, so the input will be as follow:

    1) [4][P]+[K]+[G]~[8]~[4][P]+[G]~[P]
    2) [4][P]+[K]+[G]~[2]~[6][P]+[G]~[P]

    Cheers

ooo that is pretty good /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif are you sure her [4][P] sabaki is full crescent i thought it was only half since she doesn't spin at all or anything, nevermind it's a sabaki in itself with a really huge sabaki window(i thought) so maybe you sabaki'd Lei's Sabaki? LOL

[4]+[P] is no longer a sabaki. Yes it is a full circular attack

REALLY!? what the hell thats so wierd that they took it's sabaki away, i really liked that one too...

yes,[4][P] is full circular and u can go into the YY stance. But if u can predict ur opponent then I would rather go for the [K]+[G]. Because it's again full circular and if MC, [6_][P][P][P][K] is guranteed on most character.

The down point of the move is , it's abit slow and hit's high. But in the other hand u are safe (-3) even the blocks it. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

what is the point of the [6_] before the punch combo? is it to step forward to cover the distance? wouldn't it pull out an elbow?

I like the YY follow up option on [4][P]... that's mainly just personal taste though. Also a bit quicker than the old [K]+[G] which I probably don't use enough.

The [6_] command before the[P][P][P][K] is to move urself forward to cover the distance. So u will hold the [6_] command after the [K]+[G] then do the rest of [P][P][P][K]. Note: not [6]+[P] and this techique can be apply to many other characters combo.

would i need to buffer in a [G] so it doesn't do the sabaki/crumple attack?

    Soundwave,

I am talking about the neutral [K]+[G] not the [6][K]+[G]. so u dont need the [G] buffering. The whole sequence will be [K]+[G] MC~ [6_]~[P][P][P][K]
try it out on prcatice mode!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

some questions after the sweep [2]+[K]+[G]

if it hits, what can I do after?

I like doing [2_][3]+[P]after but it is throw counterable if blocked..........
Do you think going into YY stance would be interesting?
personally,I use sweep a lot,but only in safer distance(not close range),it seems that sweep has a good range

On counter hit knockdown, you can usually sneak in another sweep.
If it hits normally, you're disadvantaged anyway, so losing a few more frames of advantage to a blocked [2_][3][P] doesn't seem like as big of a deal. If it worries you, her rising [P]+[K] isn't throw counterable, but it also doesnt duck under mids like [2_][3][P] sometimes does.
Like GP's guide says, [1][P]+[K] after normal hit is another good option.
Going to YY and doing the [8],[4][P]+[G],[P] trick will get you out of immediate linear attack or throw retaliation, but you don't really have time (at least I don't) to check for a hit before you commit to this.

My standard follow-ups are [1][P]+[K] or [2_][3][P]. This is the single easiest time to get the counter-hit on [2_][3][P][4][P]+[G]. And thus, is read a lot. Being blocked isn't the issue - it's being dodged.

As KoD said, another sweap isn't too bad either I'd say.

    OK thanks man!

and when the sweep hits MC,what can be the follow ups?

    if they don't TR,I do [6]+[K],[K]
but if they TR or QR,what can I do?are there any garanteed moves after ?
In some vids,I see sometimes [4][6]+[P],[P]+[G]attemps or a second sweep, but often, they do nothing.........
Is it possible that an elbow or any mid attack can stagger them if they TR or QR after [2]+[K]+[G]MC?

I have come across some things that might help anyone who plays Aoi. One of my favorites is to combine [3][P]+[K] with a low throw ([2] or [1][P]+[K]+[G]) to get something like 72 damage. The connection is easy and pretty reliable. When the chop connects, it knocks the opponent downward and makes it seem as if they are crowching, allowing the low throw to connect. One more thing: I have run across a 104 damage combo in versus, dealing with a wall. Could any tell me exactly what I did? /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

i'm not sure if the timing would be right to do it after the sweep recovers or if you'd need to hold down for a second but her new [P]+[K] while rising attack works really well.
