Not sure what you're referring to, overall, Sarah definitely cannot do that much damage to Taka and is one of her worst matchups in FS. Every high level Taka player has said that it's a lop sided match in favor of the fattie. Some stats to think of, Sarah can only significantly launch Taka from DC, 8KG MC or 4KG. JF F2KKK string, Serpent and elbow knee no longer knock him down like it did in R, in fact they leave Sarah at disadvantage on hit. Yet, Taka still has his 2 hit confirmation launcher that homes on evades among his other good attributes.

You know me man... Look at my list o' cats I use in other games:
    DonValve (BatFan)
    Kensou (KOF XIII)
Victor (Vsav) - I actually started learning him, I usually main Aubath, and Bulleta..
    Rubber Soul, Kahn (JJBA)
    Sean (3S)
    Gates (Psychic Force 1 & 2)
    Juzoh (LB & LB2)
    P.Jack, Kunimitsu (TTT)
Brad Wong, Jann Lee - DOA
    Kick (DIVEKICK) - j/k

I say all that to say "low tier" is nothing to me. I still play these characters and other seemingly low tier characters in other games with the same strong mindset, and show & prove... Jeffry's gonna be the same... Instead of people getting Splash Mountain'd, they're gonna get something else--- I just don't know a fancy way of putting it... Help me out...

I know I damn sure not dropping a character because they changed in some tier listing... That's a bitch move honestly...

I'm willing to wager money that nobody reading this forum is good enough for these tier lists to matter.

A top Japanese Lei Fei player will maul the competition in the US.

Just like Adam's Jeffry will probably remain one of the strongest player-characters here.

This type of thinking can very well change pending on the scenes growth and "seriousness" within local tournaments and such... I might be pushing it, but I'm a man of "hope"...

I've had this sitting in preview pretty much all day while I've been at work, and was too busy to finish and submit. So now, in checking for further replies I've found that ice-9 has pretty much said what I was going to say.

But, I'll post it anyway because this topic seems to come up frequently whenever tier lists are discussed, and usually followed by complaints or praise for one's own character choice based on their demotion or promotion in the tiers.

I think this can't be restated enough.

Anyone disheartened by where their character falls on the tier list is wasting their energy, and would do better to focus that energy into improving themselves as a player. You stand to gain so much more by focusing on self improvement rather than re-thinking your character choice.

I will take your VC money. I am in Singapore every month and sometimes stay across from where you live so I'll come to collect next time. [IMG]

But yeah, a large amount of players won't have the skills necessary to beast with Akira or Jacky or take real advantage of the things Eileen and Jeff might lack. The game is pretty balanced from everything I see.

Regardless of what Arcadia and the outcomes of the daily sega events, strong Eileen plays still get the job done consistently. From everything ive seen she looks to have more tools than before, I just hope she feels the same.

You can bet i will take advantage of ANY WEAKNESS WITHIN MY OPPONENT PERIOD!!! My character could've been F tier i'd still use him. I don't Meatwash characters based on what I'M lacking personally. Offense is not the problem I just want to improve on having a rock solid defense. I've spent countless hours watching FS vids and Eileen and Jeff still looks tough.. I guess its because i know what im looking at and how it may affect me thru my weaknesses. They still can pile it on.. Maybe its the players here that need to step they shit up.

What I find interesting is that VF1 and VF2 probably were some of the most unbalanced games ever. Yet it didn't hurt their popularity. Actually in VF2 most people did not realize how unbalanced the game was until some broken overpowered techniques were introduced from Asia. But it didn't damp the popularity--it actually inspired people to learn those BS techniques themselves. Those broken techniques were actually considered a part of the "depth" of VF2.

I dare say lack of balance never actually hurt any game that much. Tekken 3 and TTT were of course unbalanced too, but it didn't hurt their popularity either. (Tekken 6 BR is actually a fairly balanced game, but that's another subject.) Both Tekken 4 and VF3 I believe were a part of the attempts to balance out the games, but received mixed reactions. I also remember people bitching and moaning about how overpowered Ukyo was in the old Samurai Showdown series, but still continuing to faithfully play as if they suffered from some battered wife syndrome.

If we restrict the tier discussion to low-to-mid level competition, then I say of course tiers exist in any game, including VF, in the sense that some characters are just easier to learn and use. (Say, Jacky and Kage were traditionally recommended beginner characters to learn basics, for a reason I say.)

Guess, I have nothing to complain about I play Jacky. I'd played Jacky if he was low-tier tho. Looking forward to trying out Jean tho.

Saw gorgeous-eileen rockin a different higher tiered character in the last tourney...

I'll just play with a few characters and see if I find any advantages or disadvantages with the current tier list. In most other fighting games the tier list was a significant factor at high level play. In vanilla I found Vanessa to be much stronger and easier to win with than Sarah. Saying that all non Japanese players across the globe are such inferior scrubs that they wont ever notice sounds fictitious, but whatever just release the game..

Don't worry Tricky, she still feels the same. (For me, anyway.) Obviously everything isn't quite the same but the only thing that took some getting used to are that her zenk cancels have to be put in faster.

This was the key worry I had. I used to use kage in VF1-4evo and in VF5 he just felt too foreign to me. He just felt different so I dropped him and moved to eileen. That experience is not a fun one so I'm glad to hear from someone that the feel is the same.

Like in SF games I always use cammy, no matter what tier she is, and she always feels pretty much the same with tweaks. I'm one of those character loyal type players so I really don't like switching off the girl who brought me to the dance.

For what it's worth I played her on the weekend and she felt much more similar than most characters, the main thing that freaked me out a bit was that 6p+k doesn't cancel anymore.

To me she just felt like a character that had been expanded upon rather than reworked in any significant way.

One thing that a friend told me about tier lists and that took my attention was that even though tier lists mean nothing about ''I will win this match'' they still same to be a good parameter about how much a local scene exploits the system of the game

For example, in my local scene of SF IV in Chile you never saw the twins or fei long winning anything or even being used at all in AE (Not 2012) and how at times you could feel that the level here was not that good since you never saw what players could do in the worst case scenarios that could appear in the game

In the other hand, Marvel and KOF here had a widely use of characters, with a slightly majority of top tier character being used, but still, they don't always win, but you can still see their performance, and at least I feel that here in chile the 2 best scenes are kof and marvel

At least that's how I see tier lists, and how I feel that even though you as a player are bad to the point that tier lists will not matter, in the end COULD matter

Is still kinda of discouraging seeing aoi so low in the tier chart and tournament chart, but like I said, winning with an honest character in a honest fighting game will be really awesome

Every video I've seen of her looked like this was the case. Her tools are very limited in vanilla, and while I understand why she's strong I never felt like Lolz I win for free hurrrrr. Looking at the system changes I can see how her game may have been hurt or changed, but I also see how she's been buffed.

I've known about losing 6P+K for a while now, and while I liked it, she now has a two handed move that functions much like 6P+K did, but she's at -8 instead of -6. It's two handed though so no sabaki's of pak-sao threats.

SEGA RELEASE THE GAME ALREADY DAMNIIT

Sucks that Sarah is low tier but i can deal with that. I'll just work my way up like other games.
