Well, what I meant to say was that I was not impressed, or entertained by his play, by the way I am by some.

Not to say he isn't good, if not one of the best, but he just doesn't pull off these amazing things the way chibita and ohsu do.

I don't claim to be better than them, but if they wish to compete at such a level, they must impress me. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And kyasao, based on that video, and the past couple, has not. Perhaps they were a couple of bad games, but he just didn't control the pace of the game the way his name is hyped up to be.

Myke, I do not see how this is any different from the multitudes of sports forums out there where people are going, "Yeah, that guy made such a crappy play, oh my god he sucks!".

Not that i am saying anyone sucks, (or that the person in my 'quote' is saying that anyone sucks), but i just expect a higher level of play when i watch the best players.

    and that's just me.

People get sensitive when you talk about players they have met and like as well as those that have a large profile and history like Kyasao does so I think you're getting blowback from that but I think your largest problem really is in your use of the words "higher level of play".

Kyasao's win ratio is still in the 80 percentile, you know he earned this against top players so he truly is deserving of his spot as "top player". so, what is "high level of play" if it isn't ability to win? No-one wins forever so you are bound to see videos of a loss (which can be more thrilling than a trounce) and since the amount of videos of FT Kyasao will be completely paled by the amount of games he's played I'm willing to bet a negative judgement of his calibre is not only premature but incorrect.

Kyasao does exhibit a high level of play. the video releases of his matches may not come with a completed checklist of flash and combos but the level is, without a doubt, there. I don't think your (or my own) entertainment really enters into the equation.

Now. Let's see some more vids!

no doubt about it, kyasao played bad against 8..

8 is also a high level wolf, in my oppinion you should look at some past matches of kyasao, i think some of my favs was him vs cappo in USA. there is even some of him on your very own game disc of EVO. the trouble about your comments is that kyasao doesnt just have a reputation, he has a history since VF2.

your judgements based around the odd few clips here and there will make people fustrated because they have a better oppinion than you based around his overall play, thats why matches like against 8 doesnt really matter much compared to the big picture.

all i am saying is that your oppinion will most likely change down the line, so dont say anything youre gonna regret right now.

Don't judge the guy's performance on a few vids in this thread. He didn't play so well this time but like BK said, watch some of his past videos of him playing and u'll see why he is Kyasao /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You didn't say he had a lousy match, you said he's not top tier. In the comparison to sports, it's like saying Tim Duncan sucks after watching the Olympics, and the rest of us saying, "What are you stupid? TD is damn good!"

I.e. you don't know what you're talking about.

Ok ok, my initial phrasing was quite harsh. But essentially what I was trying to say was this:

If I had saw that match (Kyasao vs 8), and nobody told me that was kyasao, I would never have guessed it was him.

(Big thanks to those defending some of my words, and sorry for offending anyone)

I agree, it was not one of Kyasao's best performances. But, I have no doubt that he will impress you in the future, as he has impressed me in the past--over several versions of VF no less! Kyasao is definitely the Tetsujin with the most staying power.

[/ QUOTE ] I have no doubt he will impress me in the future, however the anger in my post came in replying to other guy who was saying how great he enjoyed kyasao's style.

Which left me thinking, "wtf is that guy talking about, that's the worst i've ever seen kyasao play"
