    Re: Evading a SPoD

Errrr yeah I edited my post almost straight away. I went into training recorded Akira doing a SPoD from p2 side and replayed it against myself. Like I said in the edit it IS evaded to Akiras front. Apologies for any confusion caused.

About the evade attack, one thing I noticed is that afcourse your enemy will block most of your evade-attacks so I didn't but I started with [3][3][P] followed by Akira's evade attack... looks cool to! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
And another thing I found out and what all you pro's probably already know about [1][G]+[P]+[K][P], it has a very short reach but if you press the [P] button just a bit later Akira's elbow will have a longer reach...
Afcourse you could start fooling you're oppenent with that /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just something I wanted to share

Why would you waste a yoho on an evade attack?

Mmm yeah I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Elite. If you hit with a yoho aim to do at least 60+ damage ( I say this as if your opponent is crouching you'll float them a lot lower ). Also a well timed evade attack won't "always" be blocked and if you pay attention to which way you should correctly be evading with regards to a counter attack you'll realise its use ( check series in tactics and training ).

Yes both [P] and [K] can be delayed from [1][P]+[K]+[G]. If you MC with the elbow follow with DLC or maybe even a DJK. If you just hit with the elbow buffer a SDE quickly and you can often get an MC on it leading to sgpm-DE, DJK, m-dbpm etc...

Hmm haven't thought off it that way csnape. But that's because I've just started with Akira and i'm just 2nd Dan.
So thnx for the tip, more advice is very welcome.
I'm also still having a lot of trouble with Akira's DLC because when I'm practicing in free training I can get it out of my stick 2 of the 10 tries so I don't even have to bother trying it in quest mode! It's rockhard to do...
Well maybe I'm just not patient enough. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Fair enough but the original poster was talking about vf4 to evo...the move still does the same but its command has changed. New moves would be [K]+[G], [K]+[G][P], [2_][6][P][P], [6][P], [6][P][4] etc
