    Yes, go.

I'm not very good socially but i've had tons of fun going to VF events and met some great friends. Don't worry about entering the tournament and not doing too well, just have fun :p

@Manji, I guess we could do Sunday casuals at the hotel. I'm not really sure what we can do tbh, that's why i'm not 100% sure which day is best for me to head back.

I'm planning on heading back up to Sheffield on the Monday, so I'm sticking around from Friday to Monday.

And don't worry about your skill level. Everyone will be there to have fun, so just focus on that.

The link doesn't seem to work.

I guess I will reserve tickets so I will have at least half a day if not more time to play casuals during sunday. If it comes to that, then sightseeing :p

ps. Whats the traffic like after midnight on saturday-sunday night, getting back from the venue to the hotel that is likely at the St.Pancras area? I assume its going to go late.. Should I plan to use Taxi or do the trains still run?

The cheapest option (Hotel Einfield) is fully booked for whole duration of SCE according to their site.It may be just me prsonally, but all the prices are pretty high. For 3 night seven in the cheapest hotel, I will pay more that from back plane ticet to my country :( It is also significantly more that what I was saving for it :(

BTW I found THIS hotel and the price for double room seems to be reasonable (135 pound sper 3 nights and 2 people). The address is Innova Park, Corner Of Solar Way, Enfield, London, United Kingdom - how far it is from venue? And also, do you have any info about this hotel?

Driving around London during those hours on a weekend isn't bad - the chaotic traffic comes from people going to work or during long weekend breaks (bank holidays, Easter, etc...). But driving in the middle of the night usually isn't stressful (unless you don't know where you're going). Most people who go clubbing/drinking will be getting the tube/night bus/cab, but this is usually Fridays and Saturdays... not many people get drunk on Sundays as they don't want to go into work with a hang over.

Unfortunately, even though it's a weekend, trains don't run that late - by train do you mean national rail or underground (aka the tube). It's also the most popular time train companies like to take out routes for "engineering works". But then there will be replacement bus services.

Just to help you guys with planning travel etc, use these links:

    http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

The first link will only show national rail travel times/fares/plans. Whereas tfl will show you all kinds of route from A to B (bus, train, tube, overground, walking(!)). With cabs (taxis), there's usually a mini cab office next to or real close to train stations (not all though) for people who miss last trains etc...

Travelling around London can be quite expensive. Depending on the number of changes you are making and the mode of transport, a (daily) travel card might be less dear than paying the individual fares. Basically, you buy a ticket that will last you a day 00:00->02:30 (next day/early morning) for a fee and you can get on nearly all types of public transport in London. But you have to check what "zones" you're travelling through as if you buy zones 1-4 and end up going to a station in zone 5, you will need to pay excess fares, etc... I think the TFL (Transport For London) site has fares buried somewhere in there.

Hope you guys have a good stay in London.

Man that sucks... if you're looking for "cheap" accommodation, you might want to look for places like Holiday Inn or Premiere Inn. They do rooms for £35 a night, but no breakfast and it's very basic... bring your own soap/toothpaste, etc... But I've stayed in some before when I was travelling around the country for Kendo and it's fine to stay the night. As long as you bring your own stuff.

To get an idea of how far places are from the venue, I suggest using google maps - the .co.uk version (if you type .com, it uses American version). Then use the postcodes supplied in their "where to find us" page. Then you get a good idea. I think there are travel layers you can switch on which tells you bus stop info, etc... And to answer your question, that place isn't far from venue, about 30 minute walk. 10-15mins by car.

The hotel looks good, but according to google maps its about 40 minutes away from venue by bus (bus number 121). I am still considering it since it looks otherwise good, and staying in the Enfield area might be a good idea compared to going back downtown after the tournament. However, that hotel seems to bit too far away from the venue and railway station. Unless everyone goes to that same hotel and we have casuals there.

I would consider the Holtwhites hotel for me and Combolammas. Note: the hotel seems to have been refurbished in 2012, and the old reviews before that are very bad. Now it seems like a good place to stay.

I ended booking room in Holtwhites Hotel. Renting room for 3 will cost you 25 pounds / person / night what is not bad and it is close to the venue

Flight tickets confirmed for me and Combolammas. Team Finland is coming! :)

(Ill reserve the hotel soon-ish, most likely from that Holtwhites hotel)

ps. We will leave on monday, so sunday looks like a good day for casuals.
