[3 Aug 2013] Sega Cup Europe (London)

Good idea, Ash.
I've got a list of hotels and places to stay lined up for the 3rd of May.
I'll also include places near Kings Cross St. Pancreas Station.

 

What place would You recommend to stay? I need the most economic choice since I quit the job
If anyone could offer floor or a car sit I definitely would take it.. I don't care about comfort.. It's gonna be all about VF no useless shit :]

 

The place looks further away from downtown london than I first thought.. How easy/fast is it to get there from downtown or would it be better to get a hotel closer to the venue?

Usually you don't get to decide that but its the airline that you use. I know that Finnair flies to Heathrow so that is what I will use.

 

Kings Cross and St Pancras are right next to each other. 25 minutes via train to Enfield Chase (a station near the venue),

Also, there's not too many hotels in Enfield from what I can tell, while the St Pancras area has a lot. There's literally streets of them, and they're pretty much a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross.

 

Ryanair flies to Stansted. From there you'll have to take a bus. 3 different bus companies are there, depending on the money they are more or less quick. Cheapest = longest ride. Or at least that's how I remember it…

 

Regarding the Converters: There are some reliable PS2 to 360 Converters. Many SC tournament players from France use them. http://dx.com/p/ps2-to-xbox-360-controller-adapter-cable-33241 . There's also the "Controller Converter Pro"(I use it for SC) for PS3 to 360 but it is either horribly expensive or out of stock.

We wanna plan something pretty big on the Friday as a precursor to the Sega Cup. We plan to do a big VF session at the Heart of Gaming (HoG), where we can have alot of casuals and if people want, exhibition tournaments like team tournaments and so on. There is also streaming equipment so we can stream it all.

The HoG is a community built arcade featuring both an arcade room and a console room...something for everybody. It is very flexible for things like community run events and we have good ties, here is the Facebook page where you can see what the place looks like!

from the screenshots I saw, they have a lot of ps3 consoles... Do they have 360 ones there? Or can we borrow controllers?

 

There are 360 consoles yes; in fact, today I saw 2 arcade cabinets with 360's in them!

 

A team tournament would be awesome!

Also, if possible, make sure you have same consoles that the main event will use (I don't know for sure yet but I'd guess xboxes)

 

It's confirmed to be xbox 360... or at least that's what it says on the official site...
