[17 Dec 2014] Wednesday Night Fights VF5:FS Tournament (Walnut, CA)

My laptop is fairly decent, its 2 years old, I can stream things with it.I wouldn't mind bringing it out either, hell I already have xsplit too. 00000's got the aver media portable that we could use to capture as well.

BUT for mobile internet.... I don't think tethering my phones 4G is gonna be very good since metro pcs' upload speeds is about 1.2 or 1.3 mb, I've looked into those portable 4G hotspots but I can't really afford an extra $50-75 a month to have it active.

 

I no longer have an LTE phone so the connection will not be fast enough to stream.
Heck we barely have enough room to play the game at Super Arcade in order to fit all the stuff we would need to live stream.

The best way is what we are already doing with 0. He captures the matches then uploads them to YouTube later on in the week.

 

Yeah was gonna mention being squished in between the shinobi and pinball machine aint too comfy

 

I'm down to provide some equipment to stream/record. I don't even get LTE service from within Super so I couldn't tether if I wanted to. Working on getting a better laptop, for now, I'd have to use someone elses.

 

Aight well I'll try some tests using my phone tethered and see how well it turns out.

 

If you have android use FoxFi app to bypass paying for tethering. There are others, but I like FoxFi. Once you get it up and running for live streaming I'll give you my password for the Twitch VFsocal page

so I been testing out broadcasting at 360p/30fps/96kbps for audio on a 3bar 4g connection in my room (worst reception in the house) and I've been getting very little dropped frames or issues.

So I think its safe to say If I set it to 240p we should have no issues (fingers crossed)

so 00000000 if you wanna bring your averportable we can get a stream going tomorrow or the next time you come down just hit me up on here or twitter or whatever

Sadly its MetroPCS haha but I do still get full bars at the arcade so thats why Im thinking it will work out.

Will bring my equipment next time. Should be able to make it as things at work will be, as NetherRealms would put it, Normalized.Avermedia is coming out with a new unit! I may have only had the portable for a few months (and barely used it) but I'm looking to ditch it for the new hotness!

 

Additionally, NOW THAT MY CAR WORKS, I will gladly taxi people around so long as it's feasible from a time standpoint. So, nearby guys like Icky and Mythboy or people between/around DTLA and Walnut are people that I can definitely cart around!

Wow, thats awesome news zero. Yeah, if ur ever down to head down to WnF together, im more than down to roll with u. Not to impose or anything, but the only way I'd get down there is with a ride :/ Or if some of you guys would like to come play some casuals at my house, anybody is down to come over.

Should be able to make it, depending on how long I'm at work.

 

I'll be there around 8:30. As long as my car doesn't stall more than once on the way there. (My engine CPU is faulty and was actually recalled years ago! I never knew but once I hit 165k BAM ! problem city)

If it does stall out I'm gonna turn around and head home.
