Cool VFDC history lesson. Myke or people here should make a thread for us "newbies" ^^

I mean, for telling the history of how VFDC came to be and to today. could be a post also i suppose ^^ but shits interesting.

@PReP that's a great idea and you should heckle @Myke about it! A nice write up on the early years of VFDC, why Ice-9 started it and why Myke decided to step up and take the reins would be a good read. Perhaps he could even share his thoughts on how things have changed over the years. Lord knows we we need some new content to read anyways :P

Incorrect :) ice-9 is actually user no. 4 (http://virtuafighter.com/members/ice-9.4/), but there is an interesting story behind why my user ID is 2. I think a historical piece on VFDC is a fantastic idea, and something I've always wanted to write about!

Actually users No 1 and 3 are gone completely, I think they died when VFDC moved to new forums..?
So technically this days, Myke is user No1 undercovered by No2 ;)

On a related note, can anyone guess who is member #5?

@Myke don't tease us! Put pen to paper or finger tips to a keyboard and make it happen. It would be awesome if you could also include your thoughts on the community's growth, struggles, rivalries and where you think we might be headed considering there may not be another VF after FS. (continued in follow up post)

If there isn't do you really think VFDC will survive? Also a little off topic but why isn't there an app to access VFDC forums? Especially the frame data and combo pages. Those alone would be awesome to have on your phone as a stand alone app. Yeah I know about the official FS app but sorry it sucks compared to what's on VFDC. VFDC has always been the best source for VF info.

When i visit VFDC with smartphone browser (chrome in my case) i find the layout to be kinda good.

Tho there is quite a lot of scrolling to get past main posts, twitter feeds, and such. aswell as a long load for that one main page.

But layout good, havent checked combo lists but might be ok.

If possible a more "sparse" main page tho, and instead acesss to the different parts by menu, for less load. mebbe ^^

Combo section is kinda meh on mobile phones TBH
