Higher lumens = brighter bulb. Brighter bulb=you can use outdoors and indoors with lights on. Short throw projector=projector is really close to screen and is commonly used by college students to set on table, may have good quality.

HDMI is best for good quality video on projectors. Some projectors have inputs that accept Android/iPhones. Try and get 1080p or at least 720p, otherwise I wouldnt bother. Try to get a projector made for gaming (rather than straight up home theater) too if you are trying to play games with it and not have input lag.
